Hi,
I want this function:
…. link your featured image to your gallery showcase. It will cause the featured image, when clicked, to open the sexy overlay box for you. Snazzy!
What settings do I need to use? I only want the gallery shown in an overlay box when clicking the featured image and no thumbnails below the featured image. Can your plugin do this?
I use BestWebSoft Gallery as Gallery plugin. (latest version).
Thanks in advance for your reply and help.
Bart
getting this error on all pages

I deactivated all plugins and SM Gallery is the one causing the error
]]>Hi,
I have removed several images from an existing gallery but the content on the website is not changing.
Could you please help solve this problem?
Many thanks in advance for your time and help!

Hi,
first of all thanks for this plugin so simple and useful.
I have a little problem, it works fine if I upload images from computer, but if i try to upload them from Media Library they don’t appear at all.
DO you know where can be the issue?
I use the version 1.1.2
]]>Hi.
Thank you for this plugin ??
I use qrtanslate on my site and the captions are not getting translated on your plugin.
Could you please help resolve this issue
Let me first say that this is an fantastic plugin. I love the way it works. I just started using it and am having just one issue. I’m hoping to use this with the Featured Image, but I’m not getting the Featured Image Gallery Meta Widget (shown here)
https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/sm-gallery/screenshot-2.png
I do have the Featured Image box in my theme(s) though.
I made sure everything was enabled in the Screen Options, but no luck. I’ve tried it on two different sites & servers, one of which, I enabled both the Twenty Eleven & Twenty Twelve Themes and disabled all other Plugins. I can get it to work using the shortcode image path like so…
[gallery modal="true" thumbnail="/path/to/image.jpg"]
And while this works fine, the site that I’m hoping to use it on, there will be non technical users and hoping to tie it into the “Featured Image” so that they don’t have to deal with the shortcode like that.
Have you seen this happen previously?
Thanks again for this plugin. It’s perfect for a project I’m working on.
]]>Hi there,
Having some troubles, but keen to this gallery working.
Issue is no images seem to be listed. When I view the page source, no images are being output to the thumb or large image code areas.
Delving further, I’ve tried dumping some variables from the ‘sm-gallery.php’ file. For instance, under the get_sm_gallery() function I dumped $slides, and the array seems to be empty. I’m no super-duper-code-expert-man-or-woman though.
Tag I’m using is:
[gallery columns="4" ids="282,277,271,263,262,261,260,259,258,251,223,240,241,242,247,87"]
I’ve tried disabling the plugin, and the default WordPress gallery lists the images fine.
I’m using version 1.1.2 of SM Gallery.
Any ideas? Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance mateh!

]]>This is a simple, hassle-free plugin that does exactly what I wanted and works great! Many thanks.
Two questions:
1) How can I center [gallery] on a page?
2) How can I slow it down from 5 seconds to 30 seconds?
]]>Hello,
First off, great plugin. I’ve found it works great in most browsers, however I found a tiny hiccup:
I could not get the modal window images to work in IE9, 8, 7, and 9’s compatibility mode. It either displays as a red X or doesn’t display anything at all. Have you encountered this before? It’s working fine in all other browsers. This is with using the gallery shortcode with choosing each photo’s ID to display in the gallery.
Also, I noticed in a forum post created about 6 months ago that you have included the ability to add a filter so this plugin could point to a different CSS file. I made the mistake of updating the plugins css files, and shortly thereafter everything was overwritten, causing me to explore other options.
– If you would, please tell me where I may put this filter so I can re-direct the css to my own. Do I put it in my theme’s functions.php? Or do I put it in the plugin’s sm-gallery.php itself?
Thanks,
-Pale

]]>Hi,
I am not very good with codings. So would you please let me know how to add modal code to trigger the gallery through a featured image.
Thanks.
]]>love the look and functionality of this image gallery! the problem i am having is this:

i have tried to upload one at a time and click update after each photo i upload which works sometimes but not always.
any help on this would be fantastic!

Does not do anything useful.
]]>Hi Seth,
I have installed your SM Gallery plugin and made a test page with a few images, see https://kc-shertogenbosch.nl/wordpress/test-galleria/.
When you click on a thumb, not only the image is loaded in the frame, but also a popup is shown with a large(r) version of the image. This is not what I want.
Normally I use the gallery that’s included in the theme, but my client doesn’t like that one and wants a gallery like yours. Perhaps there is a conflict with other js, but I am not a js professional, so…
Can you help please?
Thanks and regards,
Monique
Hi!
First of all, congratulation for the plugin. Its pretty easy to use, and impressive in the execution!
I have a problem maybe not related with the plugin: I would like to include above the thumbnail a div with some transparency and the name of the image, but unfortunately doing that the link to the modal window does not work. Obviously, there a div ABOVE the image, so the link is unreachable..
I would like to put the link to open the modal to the new div, but I dont know how its prepared. Js? CSS class? How can I open the modal window from the transparency boxes here?
Thanks in advance, regards!
]]>I’m well on my way with css customizations, now all I need is to change the thumbnail sizes.
WordPress creates these in 60x60px, yet SM Gallery gives me 100x100px thumbs.
How do get SM Gallery to use the default thumb size?
And who’s creating those 100×100 thumbs on my site? I have set 60px in settings and in the functions.php!!
I just got SM Gallery to work and I’m happy ??
Now, since all of sm gallery’s stuff is being loaded in the footer, AFTER my stylesheet, anything I define will be overwritten since you use the !important tag quite a lot, too.
How would I go about adjusting the width and height and visibility and position of the arrows? Should I edit the plugin’s stylesheet and re-edit when you bring out a new version or is there a better way?
]]>On two different WP installs on the same server, when I install the SM Gallery plugin and create a page with the [gallery] shortcode, then attach pictures, the thumbnails show up, but the main picture window does not.
I have used this plugin on a different server and it worked fine (very easy!) so Im pretty sure I am doing it right.
The server is Centos 6. I suspect I am just missing some small piece, but I dont know what!
You can see the problem at https://blog.starlilyth.net/pics/
]]>does not load images correctly fills page, comeon guys we need a little more control over images
]]>I created month ago gallery and i did it somehow, but now when I have to update new images to the gallery on a Page, it won’t work anymore…
Instructions for this plugin are not good, unless plugin isn’t working, because I have red so many times that and tried today 25-30 uploading image and doesn’t work.
]]>Full size images are being used where the thumbnails should be.
]]>Using the standard [gallery]
code works for the full size portion of the image, but the thumbnail slider below displays what looks like the top most portion of the full res file (thumbnails are not getting resized.)
Using the “modal” code does not work at all – the gallery does not even appear (the modal function is mostly what I want this plugin for). [gallery modal="true"]
Using a more complicated code to define a custom thumbnail is totally messed up. Any time a thumbnail is pressent it displays the full res image. [gallery modal="true" title="Adventure #1" thumbnail="/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/IMG_0319.jpg" thumb_class="gallery-thumb"]
This is too bad, because this plugin is supposed to do exactly what I want.
]]>Hello, I’m tring to find something like this that works simple with WordPress, but also allows the lightboxing (or what you are calling it) of any media.
I mean, if it works with WordPress, WordPress has all kinds of media, thus it would be best if it worked with all kinds of media to post in a gallery as, and pop-up nice to view.
It’s the way wordpress itself should already be working.
