when will be new version? i see there option to exclude categories, i need it now to exclude a lot of categories, would be nice to mark them easily to remove, also to exclude from index page…. now it shows on index even if i got marked “Only show sticky posts of the post category & sub categories?”

in other plugin called Polygon recent comments there is nice option for “show scroll’ and height od scroll and showing only when count of comments etc, that would be perfect to this too.

there is lack also of turning off post content, it could be as option and option to set ammount of chars to display [better ammount of words i think].

Hello,
i have search for this problem every where but i havent found.
i use this plugin, and i have bought a plugin for choose limit duration of feature.
Well when the feature’s duration of one ad is expired, this ad stay display in the sidebar of “Feature ads”.
I have looked in backend and the feature box for this ad is unchecked.
Then i dont understand why it stay in feature sidebar widget.
One have meet this problem too ?
If one can help me its welcome ??

I’m using the last version of your plugin and I’m also using polylang plugin, the multi-language don’t works now in your plugin the recomendation of polylang developer is:

Edit sticky-featured-widget.php at line 80 and replace:

if(isset($instance['title'])) echo $before_title . $instance['title'] . $after_title;

by:

if(isset($instance['title'])) echo $before_title . $title . $after_title;

It was brought to my attention that thumbnails are built differently in ClassiPress 3.3. I haven’t had time to find a permanant solution, but adding this style to your child theme will fix the issue for now:

Is there a way to differentiate featured posts on top from sticky ads on sidebar? What I want is to keep the random display of posts on top and keep the sticky posts on side. So , the ones that are marked as sticky should display on the side and on top random ads.

I was looking forward to using this plugin to highlight some of the upcoming events on our Events Manager powered site in a widget area. While the option to set normal posts sticky appeared among their Visibility settings, I couldn’t find the same option for Events (EM’s custom post type).

Could you add support for custom post types?

For Events and Locations of Events Manager “featured” would work better than “stuck to the front page”, as events come and go and locations are also mostly listed through EM’s own pages. Or maybe this goes out of the scope of this plugin, if the intention is only to support front-page stickiness.

Version 1.2.1 plugin displays a the following widget each time there are no featured posts chosen:

Instead, it shouldn’t output anything when there are no featured posts. The current output looks more like an error message to the end-user, and a site that works as intended shouldn’t have any error messages. Now the site admins need to disable/enable the widget each time they add or remove the first/last featured post selection.

Thanks for the work on this plugin. I have it installed and it is displaying the first 25 or 30 words of my sticky post, and then a “…” . Wondering if its possible to easily add a link to the post after the “…”

I’m using this with an older version of Classipress (3.03), with the current WordPress. I am finding that when I have the setting turned on to display images, nothing shows up…

Should this work on 3.03 still?

Just testing it out for a client, and it works perfectly with the latest version of WP 3.3 and the Twenty Eleven theme. I don’t know (yet) how it will do with a custom theme, but so far this plugin is awesome!

I get an error message when I place it in my sidebar (using WordPress 3.1.1 and Thesis 1.8 theme, something on line 107 function not found.

Love this plugin, but decided to downgrade to the previous version (1.0.2) after the latest update (1.1.0).

The new version has smaller thumbnails and includes a short description; I want big thumbnails and only the post title. Also, the excerpt was showing shortcodes, which I don’t want appearing in my sidebar.
