Hi @brijeshk89,
After moving to PHP 7 I get this error when trying to save plugin options:
PHP Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to undefined function mysql_real_escape_string() in /home/wpdesk64/public_html/wpdesk/wp-content/plugins/smart-maintenance-mode/smart-maintenance-mode.php:250
The function was removed in PHP 7: https://php.net/manual/en/function.mysql-real-escape-string.php
Please update the plugin accordingly. It is a very good tool, however now it does not work on PHP 7 installs.
Thank you.

]]>Hey,
I’ve checked all user-roles in your settings, so they can see the normal page, but it doesn’t work.
I have checked with two different user-roles logged in visitting the site, but they go directly to the maintenance page.
My Site Address (new directory) is

and my root directory is:

How to fix this?

]]>Hey there,
I had your plugin running for a while now and it worked great without any issues. Now the site is ready to go online and so I disabled and uninstalled the plugin.
Now I got just an empty page with an internal Server Error (Status 500) when trying to open the login page /wp-admin or just visit the site. I really need your help here, because there are no error logfiles with further information. Only thing I can see is that html and body tag are empty with a “$0” seen in the console.
So could you please let me know which files I maybe have to replace (I still have access via FTP) or reset that could be affected?
I’d be glad to get some help here ?? Thanks!

]]>I want to have a button on a html version of the maintanence mode page that allows the user to view the full site out of maintenance mode.
This would allow the user to view the full site without logging in to the WordPress backend. Essentially this would have the plugin work as a splash page.
I was wondering if there was any way to achieve this with this plugin?

Tried Smart Maintenance Mode and have a few questions. I’m wondering whether it is because the WordPress version is newer. Any help will be appreciated!
Content Preference for Maintenance Mode Page
1. Custom HTML content
2. Countdown
3. Custom Image
4. Custom Heading and Sub Heading
5. Default Heading and Sub Heading
What am I doing wrong?

]]>Love the concept of this plugin but I don’t understand why it works the way it does.
If I enter a Heading 1 and a Sub-heading I get a nicely presented maintenance mode page.
If I add an image, the heading and sub-heading get deleted and only the image is displayed.
If I add HTML content then the headings and the image get deleted and only the HTML, with no style, is displayed.
Surely each one should build on the previous one? If I am specifying a heading, sub-heading, image and some HTML text (e.g. a link) then all of them should be displayed. Not just the last one?
And no, I am not checking the “delete” checkboxes.
Very confused about how this works.
