its uses my Google name and email as from
but i want to change it to user name and email of form sender.

Set up fields were checked and double checked and each field was correct. Plugin never sent the 3 test emails we tried to send. If you want to waste time, as we did, then install, activate and try to send a test email with this plug in.

This is the most annoying, and unnecessary popup ever. Even if credentials are entered , you still get this if you haven’t explicitly entered port information (which is unnecessary in most cases)

Easy WP SMTP seems to be going down hill ever since SendLayer took it over. It just keeps getting more and more bloated. If you want an easy SMTP plugin then this is the one. It does what it says and nothing more.

Great Plugin for extended SMTP Support that has all you need:
mail settings, a form for testing the configuration and a proper debug view (something you miss in most other smtp plugins)!
No stupid “Pro” Versions that only add bloated and useless stuff like WP Mail SMTP or Easy WP SMTP do. (Honestly, you should manage your mails on your smtp provider, not inside worpdress)
And because of its simplicity it works with everything. If you form plugin is not working, the problem lies in the form plugin.

This is THE plugin you need to send e-mails. Forget about WPForms, Easy WP SMTP (after their upgrade it got super-bloated) or others. You just need to send e-mails, and this is the plugin to do it. Easy and lightweight.

After Easy WP SMTP sold the plugin to a company it includes much Bloatware, 9 MB! SMTP Mailer has 52 kb! I switched all projects to SMTP Mailer, took less than a minute.

This plugin is the most lightweight and does it’s job well. You also have the test mail functionality that gives you output to fix any problems there might be.
Download the others here on www.ads-software.com and you will see some are megabytes, the smaller a plugin the less of a performance footprint it will have on your site.

SMTP Mailer is a simple, but reliable plugin for sending emails via SMTP. It doesn’t feature any special APIs, which keeps it small and quick, but it works, and the author keeps up to date with issues and environmental changes.

You’re a genius! This is the best plugin that does the job. Easy setup, nothing extra.
The entire plugin in 4 files – it’s brilliant! Compared to “WP Mail SMTP” – 860 files!!! Which I deleted after I started getting errors on my website from a plugin that I didn’t install (!) – “Action Scheduler” which is a part of the “WP Mail SMTP” plugin. They installed a crown record, 4 tables in the database, and my entire log was filled with fatal errors, some class checks for WooCommerce (which I don’t even have installed). I write all this in order to show by a comparative example that “SMTP Mailer” is a brilliant plugin. “SMTP Mailer” does the job, doesn’t spoil my mood and doesn’t waste my time.

So i have tried configuring it two ways – with gmail and smtp from my own hosting, it doesn’t work in both cases.
With gmail it hangs on password authentication according to log – the password IS correct, less secure apps is checked and critical login is confirmed.
With my own smtp credentials – it supposedly sending test message, but it simply doesn’t comply with CF7, there’s an error while sending form and that’s it.
It is lightweight, which i really like but what of it if plugin doesn’t work even on native settings?
To dev:
– if you fix it, then i will change my review. Latest WP, only your plugin and CF7, PHP 7.3 and default WordPress theme.
