How do I remove the share buttons from the Cart, Checkout, and Account pages?
]]>Hello, just wanted to provide feedback on the 4.5.4 update to the Social Warfare plugin. Currently there is an update available from 4.5.3. to 4.5.4. The changelog has not been updated to include the changes in 4.5.4. In testing, on a news based site which has articles about local happenings, the page uses Social Warfare to insert the social media buttons at the top of the article. After installing the 4.5.4 update, it causes the articles to crash and show a critical error.
The site itself is OK, but the individual articles show critical errors, strips all content except the heading for the article. The link in this ticket is to one of the working article pages and the site is currently on 4.5.3.
We tested the plugin on a development server which is where we saw the issues. Please provide/update the changelog for the plugin on GitHub or on www.ads-software.com for teh changes in this version. Thanks!
]]>Hi,
I’ve encountered an issue with the Pinterest share button on the bottom of every blog page on my site. The links are not crawlable, which I noticed when checking the pages using PageSpeed Insights. It seems that the Pinterest button only has an onclick
attribute and is missing the href
value. I want to let you know that I’m using the latest version of your plugin. I’ve attached a screenshot here for reference, and you can also check the issue using this URL: https://pixel77.com/retro-futurism/.
Please provide the solution.
Thanks

The www.ads-software.com Plugin Review Team was notified that a malicious actor had taken over Social Sharing Plugin – Social Warfare. As a result, versions 4.4.6.4 to 4.4.7.1 of the plugin created users with administrative privileges.
The Plugin Review Team has disabled it and released a “clean” updated version: 4.4.7.3. Please update immediately.
If you have used versions 4.4.6.4 to 4.4.7.1 of the Social Warfare plugin, we strongly recommend you do an in-depth review of your site’s activity and user account details.

We were having an issue with Spectra blocks. Whenever we tried to change the color of anything (heading, border on a container, a box shadow), we had either of two things happen: The block showed a message stating “The block has encountered an error and cannot be previewed” or a white screen appeared with a message stating “The editor has encountered an unexpected error.” We ensured everything was updated and then did plugin conflict testing. It appears to be a conflict with Social Warfare plugin. The editor does seem fine when this plugin is deactivated. Is this something you can help with or do we need to reach out to Spectra developer?

Hi,
Whenever I try to open a ticket on your website or update one, Wordfence message pop ups and says the following:
“A potentially unsafe operation has been detected in your request to this site
Your access to this service has been limited. (HTTP response code 403
If you think you have been blocked in error, contact the owner of this site for assistance.

Block Reason:A potentially unsafe operation has been detected in your request to this site. Time:Sun, 5 Feb 2023 16:24:30 GMT”
I’ve tried different browsers and devices, nothing helps. Impossible to open or update a ticket. I’ve mentioned it in one of the support requests sent via email, but nothing changed and no one came back to me regarding this. Would be nice if you could fix it.
Pro version customer here.
Thank you.

So instead of var swp_ajax_url = "https://domain.com/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php"; var swp_post_id = "1000";
it goes var swp_ajax_url = "https://domain.com/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php

This leads to JS Parse syntax error and breaks that completely.
]]>Hi,
I noticed some problems with database queries on my server and I am writing how I fixed them. The blog I am managing has lots of posts.
These queries were reported as slow by slow logger in MySQL.
UPDATE wp_swp_analytics
SET post_id
= 0, date
= ‘2023-01-27’, facebook
= ‘10659’, pinterest
= ‘1235’, total_shares
= ‘11894’ WHERE post_id
= 0 AND date
= ‘2023-01-27’ — These can be removed from SET: post_id
= 0, date
= ‘2023-01-27’,
SELECT * FROM wp_3_swp_analytics WHERE post_id = 18980 && date = ‘2023-01-27’ — Word “AND” should be used instead of deprecated “&&”.
The slow queries where fixed by creating an index:
ALTER TABLE wp_swp_analytics
CHANGE date
date
DATE NOT NULL DEFAULT ‘0001-01-01’; — 0000-00-00 is not a supported value
ALTER TABLE wp_swp_analytics
ADD INDEX post_id__date
(post_id
, date
); — Can be made date__post_id is both columns are always included in the WHERE filter in query
— ALTER TABLE wp_swp_analytics
ADD UNIQUE post_id__date
(post_id
, date
); — This did not work because multiple rows exists for certain post_id and date; I do not think this is OK. “INSERT INTO … ON DUPLICATE KEY UPDATE …” can be used here. If ID is generated, than it can be removed and date+post_id can be defined as a primary key.

Wordfence is citing that there is a security vulnerability. I am running version 4.3.0.
Looking at the Wordfence article’s documentation and the plugin changelog I am confused.
The changelog shows version 4.4.0 (10 JAN 2023) as the current version; however, the download file is version 4.3.0. Also, there is no option to update to the plugin 4.4.0 on the website.
The Wordfence article concerning the vulnerability cites “The Social Warfare plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to authorization bypass due to a missing capability check on several AJAX actions in versions up to, and including, 4.3.0.” Yet further down in a table on the page, it says:
Remediation Update to version 4.3.0, or a newer patched version
Affected Version<= 4.2.1
Patched Version 4.3.0
Would like to know if I am running a secure version of the plugin.

]]>Hello,
I opened a ticket (#453710) regarding an announcement you guys made a few years ago: https://warfareplugins.com/news/track-social-share-button-clicks-version-1-4-8-released/ it says you provide an Event tracking option.
I enabled that option five years ago when it was announced and forgot about it because it doesn’t show any Event values in my Google Analytics reports.
This is what it says in the link above:
“You will see social_media as an Event Category and can view the Event Action parameter to see all share button clicks that have occurred within your given timeframe. Each share event will look like this:
sw_NETWORK_share”
Your Support responded:
“I am not sure what is going on/why this is happening so I am submitting this issue to our developers as a new bug for review, and although there are no guarantees on when this issue will be resolved, ideally we will have a fix for the problem included in the next release. If our Dev Team releases a patch or requires more info/more testing from you before then, we will contact you via this support ticket.”
I wanted to ask if there’s any way for me to track this issue, via a github ticket or something but the support ticket on your site is now locked and closed so I can’t ask that there.
I need to optimize which buttons to remove and which buttons I could add to my floatbar but there’s no way of doing this unless I have data to determine what’s worth keeping.
Cheers.
]]>Hi,
I’ve been trying to solve my search console average CLS of 0.32 for over a year. I couldn’t understand where it comes from because there were no layout shifts on those pages what so ever. No ads, no consent box shifts – nothing.
Only recently I discovered that it was caused by Pinterest button from Social Warfare. I have lots of traffic from Pinterest and the problem apparently is the fact that when people access the page via Pinterest App and click that Share button generated by Social Warfare, the script that is triggered loads over 3 seconds (it’s very slow for some reason when accessed via Pinterest App). And this super slow response triggers Chrome UX to treat it as a layout shift.
I believe there is a certain time limit in Chrome UX for layout shifts to happen after a button click, so that they are not considered as random layout shifts.
I’ve solved this problem by disabling Pinterest button, so that people save pins from the App instead of the share button, but it defeats the purpose of Social Warfare this way.
Is there any other way to speed up that script?
Thanks,
Roman.
