I revised my review.Great Plugin. You cant use the Post page selection in the settings of WordPress. The plugin does not work if you selet a post page through settings.

I love this plugin. I’ve used it in footer widgets and on pages. It’s a superb way to show recent posts or upcoming events.

Saludos

Nice plugin. I don’t give a 5 star because there is no way to show Author name.

This is a really great plugin. The only problem was that it took a long time to find it. I hope this review helps others find it easier! It has great inline documentation which is awesome and flexible for showing post content in a page. I just deleted contentviews plugin after finding this plugin. Works well with site builder plugin to put the widget on a page.
I do wish I could put a button for clicking, but that would be complex for colors. I am very happy with it.

Have been using this on our Church website and like the way it displays the recent posts. My only reservation with it was the inability to find the shortcode options that worked.

I was longing for such a professional work so long.
Actually it is not my biggest dream fulfilled, because in the content area it just works via shortcodes. A button in the editor that opens the same menu as the widget offers would be the creme de la creme de la creme, being downloaded 1.000.000 times in few weeks ;))
Just a motivation to maybe see that dream come true, maybe it is not so difficult to implement such a button as similar plugins do, a button that opens the dialog, just that after pressing OK it translate the options into the shortcode. Or maybe this dream is already true in the PRO version? In this case I will be the next to buy one.
Yet I have a little problem with the single quotes in the shortcode, but I am sure this will be solved soon, I posted in the forum, looking forward for reply.
Thanks for this wonderful professional work

The old “featured post” plugin from another developer was no longer working so I installed this “Special Recent Posts” here, and it works fine. You can set it to certain post ID’s or Category filter, all there. Thumbnail size too. Thanks for your good work!

A very good addition to my site, looks really neat

does exactly what I want it to do – look stylish and makes it so much easier to see the “latest blog posts” in a nice format!
I have yet to upgrade to pro but I am sure it won’t be long as there is so much this little plugin does
really well done! great documentation – couldn’t ask for more – its on my “must have” list for all new blogs!
Thank you

It makes things look good but it doesn’t always seem to be able to handle the photo that is included in the story. I wish it could accept a wider range of photo sizes and even video thumbnails would be nice. Still worth getting and using until I find something better.

I installed the free S2 version but immediately bought the S3 version when I realized how much potential this plugin has.
The plugin offers a wide variety of options to define what you want to show in your sidebar widget. From what I can tell there is no option the author didn’t think of. So this plugin satisfies several requirements I had.
The layout options let you define how you want to show the content of the widget. It is powerful yet not quite complete. I would also like to define the font of a post’s content in the view. Right now you can only define the header fonts.
Overall a plug-in you will always need and which will always help you. Very much recommended.

Hi,
can any one help me how to get pagination on my recent posts page
]]>Rating: 5 stars
I’ve tried dozens of recent post widgets over the years. This one is the best, straight outta tha box. It adapts to my blog’s CSS perfectly.
The only problem is – it looks so good it’s making my old “popular posts” widget look like crap.

Works fine. Plenty of options. Nice Widget.

This plugin is great, easy to use, does both widget and shortcodes, gives a lot of options that I haven’t found elsewhere. The shortcode generator in the paid version is very handy too.

This plugin offers no technical support and limited options. It has created incompatibilities with other plugins in the past but as I can’t receive any support from the developers, I’ve deleted it.

tried everything to get images to display nothing. I’m experienced with WordPress and know what I’m doing. So I give up.
Why would I go premium if the basic version doesn’t do things right.

I’ve been recommending this to people for a long time, and everyone loves it, as I do, too. One of the best plugins out there for displaying your posts how and where you want them to appear.

I’ve added this to my personal blog at ritabrooks.com and it’s working great – easily the best recent posts plugin available.

I am using Thesis 1.8.5 and Wp 3.5.2.
The plugin works great. See it in action here https://www.iblogzone.com

downloaded & installed, added widget to teh sidebar, and had clean great looking listing of latest couple posts with thumbnails to match the designer’s mind, with no coding necessary on my end
ok i added a little coding : jquery to remove “no thumbnail” thumbnails :
$('img.srp-widget-thmb').each(function() { var sc = $(this).attr('src'); if ( sc.lastIndexOf('default-thumb.gif') > 0 ) $(this).parent().parent().remove(); });
