I get a warning from Wordfence that this plugin could be abandoned. We use it on our site and wonder if it is still safe to use.
Otherwise we should replace it with another plugin, but after all these years we don’t know in which posts we used this redirect. Is there a way to search the database to find those posts?
]]>hi there,
I know there already was this request about opening the redirected links in a new window and you denied it but answered
If you want to add a target _blank to a link you can do so yourself any way you like. Speedy Page Redirect just takes care of the redirection part.
can you perhaps explain me how I can do so by myself?
I have no idea how and where I have to add the “target=”_blank” by myself. pls help
Hello, I use Speedy Page Redirect for one of my sites. I’m looking into installing a new theme for a fresh design, will this plug-in be affect by a new theme?

]]>Hello,

]]>Before realizing it was possible to establish too many redirects to a page, I had attempted to consolidate some of our WordPress posts and have them all redirect to one bucket page. After I redirected about 30 or so pages and tried to access the page I was redirecting the links to, I got a redirect error from my browser. Hoping to solve the problem, I deleted all the posts that were redirecting as we would no longer need them. That didn’t solve the issue, so I restored the posts and manually deleted the redirect htmls, updated the pages, and then trashed the pages once again. I did this for about 20 posts, and I was still getting a redirect error saying the page could not be opened. As a last stitch effort, I permanently trashed all the redirecting posts, but that didn’t seem to work either. I don’t know if that means the cache needs to be reset or if we’ll have to build an entirely new webpage for the post we still need, which is https://www.ourstate.com/100-foods-you-must-eat-in-100-counties/. Interested to hear your thoughts.
]]>First I love your plugin cause it works in the backend on my custom post types. Others don’t. But I want people to be able to add stuff on the frontend for my happynews home page. Which in that section of my website is all external links. you can view what I am talking about at:
and the front end member editor I am talking about:
https://happyecho.com/news/
instead of external link on that page I want your plugin to be there. Set to permanent automatically (w/o option to change)
Anyway?????
]]>Any chance you might add a backend admin page that lists all redirects for the blog so that the admin can edit/change/delete these as required? Also, a master type admin page in the network admin menu (for multisites) where admins can see all redirects through all the sites
]]>According to FAQ, you should be able to create redirects relative to the site’s URL. But I am not. I am starting with just the slash (/), but the browser reports an error:
“Please enter a URL.”
According to page source code, there is an INPUT type="url"
element, which certainly causes problems. See W3C specifications here:
https://www.w3.org/TR/html-markup/input.url.html#input.url.attrs.type
There is an absolute URL needed in order to be valid, which means current implementation does not work for anybody.
Solution might be to use the pattern
attribute, see e.g. here:
https://stackoverflow.com/a/13821385
So, how do we solve it?
]]>Hello, I added a redirect to a page which was working OK! Now, in order to remove the redirection I deleted the URL in the redirect URL field and updated the page. However, this had no effect and the redirect remains active. Can you help? Thanks in advance.

]]>I put in some re-directs using this plugin into a Dev site, migrated it, and then found that the re-direct field inputs were empty after migration. Where does this get stored in the database, and/or how can I avoid this from happening in the future?
]]>This is a disaster. There was no warnings on the plugin, and I’ve used it successfully on my newer sites.
We have a new website built on a newer version of WordPress and so I went to install this plugin to redirect our older website to the new one, but it crashed everything on installation.
We need help restoring our website now.
PLEASE HELP!
]]>Any possibility to make this plugin compatible with qTranslate?
For example: You want to redirect a page https://www.domain.com/en/page to https://www.domain.com/en/sub-pageo and you have three languages. Then it’d automatically get the used language from global $q_config and replace it in the URL.
]]>I′m using the redirection plugin since some time.
With actual versions of WP and SPR the following error occure:
If I try to redirect to an external URL, the redirection is building an URL with my Domain before, like:
https://www.mydomain.orghttp/www.redirecteddomain.com/xxx
instead of
https://www.redirecteddomain.com/xxx
How to solve this?
Thanks
Bernhard
The way I have it set up, the ‘input’ URL has the Google Analytics UTM parms in it, and the redirect is just a plain URL. This seems to prevent the tracking codes from getting back to GA. Do I need to I have them on the redirect URL instead?

]]>Hi, I used WordPress site through elegant themes. The home page is not listed in the “pages” list but rather organized through “Chameleon Theme Options” dashboard where a page is selected to pull content from and populate the home page. I redirected that page but still when I go to my old site it is not redirecting. all the other pages are redirecting. Is there another way to redirect?

]]>I installed the plugin in the Network admin, went to the main site and Activated it, but there is no menu item anywhere to change the URLs. There’s also a problem with the admin menus after installation, it disables the flyout menus so you can’t get to anything in the sidebar menus without clicking on them first.

If I were writing html for this, I would add something like:
target = _blank
Is there anyway to do this with your plugin?
