I put in our new IG password but it wont update, it gives “The Instagram API responded with an error: Error #190 [OAuthException]: Error validating access token: The session has been invalidated because the user changed their password or Facebook has changed the session for security reasons.”
I did check the password and made a new feed and nothing is working to fix it. shows posts from a year ago. its not the settings. Please help ??
]]>Hello,
just came across the issue that it is not possible to directly import a feed if there is no other feed in “Feeds” section. You need to follow the “Create new feed” wizard creating a dummy feed and then going back to “Feeds” to see the “Import a feed” button.
Thanks,

]]>Hello. When I try to connect an account using the advanced way (through meta) I get the following:

]]>I’ve switched my Instagram account from Personal to Creator but the feed still does not show. Have tried to delete my original feed and create a new one but Spotlight seems to be unable to ‘forget’ the original feed and the new one doesn’t work. How do I fix this?
]]>Hello,
I’ve come across the following issue, when looking up my previously set up instagram feeds:
“The Instagram API responded with an error: Error #190 [OAuthException]: Error validating access token: Session has expired on Wednesday, 29-Jan-25 06:30:05 PST. The current time is Wednesday, 12-Feb-25 00:40:32 PST.”
The instagram feeds aren’t showing anymore, also all the instagram accounts are labeled as “personal”, even though they aren’t. This hasn’t been an issue before. Here is also an notice I get, when using Spotlight:
“Major API Update:?We’ve detected that you’re using Personal accounts to display your Instagram feed. Personal accounts are no longer supported due to an Instagram API change. Please switch to a?Business?or?Creator?account and reconnect your account to continue displaying your Instagram feed on your website.”
While I understand following the steps (generating a new access token) would solve the issue, I want to understand what the reason behind this is? Will I have to update the access tokens on a regular basis, or will this last for longer?
Thank you so much for your support.
Kindest regards
Hello,
I’m trying to access license tab to enable pro features for the testing in local environment. Even I’ve tried to access from the hosting site as well. Unable to access it. Please help me to get fix issue.

Hi,
My Instagram feed had not updated for two months and when I checked the data logs, it returned this error:
“The Instagram API responded with an error: Error #190 [OAuthException]: Error validating access token: Session has expired on Wednesday, 29-Jan-25 14:41:42 PST. The current time is Monday, 03-Feb-25 21:41:44 PST.”
So I updated the access token and cleared the cache. The feed is not syncing at all now and displaying the same error above.
I can also see that the business account is displaying as a personal account according to spotlight (but we have a business/creator instagram). How can I change the account type from personal to business by only using the access token and not logging in with Facebook? And how can I get rid of error 190?
Thanks
]]>I have tried connecting in numerous ways, but nothing seems to work. When I try connecting via FB, I get a message saying I have no business account… but I am connected to my clients business account and Insta in FB business and have full access to everything. So I tried connecting normally and it also gives errors. Then I managed to generate an access token and it seems the account is connected… however I keep getting the following error when trying to update my feed:
The Instagram API responded with an error: Error #190 [OAuthException]: Error validating access token: The session has been invalidated because the user changed their password or Facebook has changed the session for security reasons.
How can I get this to work?

It says:

]]>Hello,
I’m just reconnecting my account with a professional account.
I cleared the plugin cache, I edited the Instagram feed.
The message et the posts are OK, as you explain in this documentation https://docs.spotlightwp.com/article/827-image-not-available-error
But the problem is not resolved.
I read in other topics that the “WP Optimize” plugin could cause problems. So I disabled it, but the problem still persists.
Do you have other ideas for solving this post display problem?
Thank you for your help.
Have a good day,
Cindy

]]>Dear support,
I’m trying to connect my Instagram feed to the plugin via the Advanced connection but I get an error message:
Oops!
We couldn’t find any Business Instagram accounts connected to your Facebook account!
This could happen if you didn’t give Spotlight the required permission in the previous step, or if Facebook’s services are encountering problems.
Kindly try to start the connection process again. If the problem persists, contact our support staff, who will be happy to help you out.
I was able to connect with the basic connection but the feed isn’t updating (it shows only my old posts, not my new ones). What might be wrong? I have an Facebook page, I gave all permissions and the plugin is updated.
Best regards,
Sandra

Hey folks. I followed the instructions on this page: https://docs.spotlightwp.com/article/884-preparing-for-the-end-of-instagram-basic-display-api-what-to-expect-and-how-to-adapt
I am getting the error described in the Title. I have searched everywhere, but I have not managed to find a post with a fix for this. Any help would be appreciated.
]]>My Instagram feed suddenly stopped loading on my website. When I go to the plugin settings, I see this error message:
?Error! Could not connect to Instagram. Please try creating a new Access Token on?this page.
I followed the steps to get a new access token (through the Instagram login option) and got an access token. But, no userID appeared.
So I then went through the Facebook login option and synced Spotlight to my business facebook page. But no access token or userID appeared for me to paste into the plugin box.
If I re-click through to the link to generate an access token, it just shows me my logged in Instagram home feed or Facebook home feed.
Can you assist?

]]>Hi – just wanted to let you know that the plugin was alleging that it had detected that it was connected to a personal account, when in fact, if you go to “edit feed” it clearly shows that it’s connected to a BUSINESS Instagram account. Turned that message off, then next time I looked at the plugin a few minutes later it said the access token was expiring and to renew it. So I did that and now there is no sign of the “detecting” notice. Just an FYI in case anyone else is getting incorrect warning messages.

As far as I understand it says that there are no feed in the account, but this is not right.
What am I missing here? Why this plugin works for the one account and doesn’t for another one (both of them are personal accounts)?
