My personal website is using this plugin.
This plugin lets your run WordPress install with SQLite instead of MySQL, great for single user blogs and installs on low spec servers.
I have written how to set it up.

I have been using this for local development on a Mac. I can sync between machines with dropbox in this way. It is great. Thank you for this great plugin.

Working great with WordPress 4.7.5 and PHP 7.
Fix for Query Monitor
==================
The Query Monitor plugin, and some other plugins, uses the $db->use_mysqli bool variable to detect if the driver support PDO (_mysqli functions), which is the case for SQLite Integration. But because the $use_mysqli variable is not defined in the PDODB class, this check fails.
To fix it, simply declare the variable like this in the PDODB.CLASS.PHP file, right before the constructor function:
/**
* @var bool Support PHP MySQL Improved version.
* @access public
* @author Guy Dumais (https://guydumais.digital)
*/
public $use_mysqli = true;

I used the previous PDO plugin a few years ago and it was really hit or miss, but in general, it didn’t work.
This plugin works great and I haven’t had any issues, even with several plugins I’ve used. It makes my WordPress installs much faster than using a MySQL database and it’s super easy to backup the database.
The author has done an excellent job on this one and I hope they continue supporting it, or at least maintaining future compatibility.
Thank you!

I had looked years before for something like it. I found it now, I want to run a wordpress in a free hosting without mysql. Followed the instruction and worked like a charm! Very good work! It may be very good solution to intergrate other PDOs into wordpress core some time soon and the plugins have not to use native MySQL Queries. Thank you again!

Congratulations and thanks for the plugin!

It does what it says on the packaging, and it does it well. Perfect for sites running on low-powered servers (Raspberry Pi B in my case), and where MySQL is too much of a burden.

Works fine for a single user test instance

Essential for developing process. Lighter alternative for people who don’t want run MySQL service.

Couldn’t be more grateful for this plugin. It fills the huge shortcoming of WP, that it only supports MySQL.
Especially for development purposes (themes and plugins) SQLite is the perfect fit. Sad that we need a plugin for this but nevertheless grateful that one exists.
Thank you! Highly recommended!

I recently used this plugin for a blog where I didn’t have a MySQL database so I searched and I found this amazing plugin and I decided to use it. I’m amazed with it.

Great option plugin, Sqlite DB gives user the option to place their WP-blog “anywhere”.
I have testing this plugin since WP 3.9, and it working perfectly.(maybe a little slow on updating WP and plugins, but really a minor), so perfect for blog with few users.

Works as described, author keeps it up to date and is responsive to support requests. A great contribution to the community.

A great alternative for people do not use MySQL. I totally agree that WordPress should support SQLite natively, though.

Works flawless. Thanks!
I still believe SQLite should be a part of WordPress, Drupal support SQLite out-of-the-box.

I set this up today running on the Azure free web-sites. I downloaded WordPress 4.0. Then I downloaded this and copied it into where it needed to be in the WordPress plugin site and followed the instructions. I uploaded the site to Azure and everything worked. I posted a few entries, vacuumed, backed up and downloaded a backup. Everything has worked perfect with it so far.

Quick and simple install.
But work after patch too many open files – too many pdo connect

after moving the plugin folder to the correct directory, the install process worked perfectly. thank you for allowing me to use sqlite, which simplifies the setup a great deal over mysql!

And the back-end is blazing fast with it. Now comes the testing. Thank you so much.

Very good plugin. The only reliable and solid plugin for integration with SQlite.
The developer of the plugin is very reliable, responsive and provides great support.
I highly recommend this plugin.

SQLite is a capable replacement for MySQL for servers employing WP, and this plugin makes it possible to do so.
The drawback is that not all WP plugins will work with this plugin, but I’ve found that only one of the 16 plugins I was using with MySQL (MariaDB) didn’t work with SQLite.
SQLite is more capable than many realize: https://www.sqlite.org/whentouse.html
It especially shines on a system with limited memory. I hope the SQLite Integration author continues to develop this plugin. He is very responsive and provides cheerful support!
I highly recommend this plugin.

This plugin is great for mini websites, hopefully author will update it so we will have sqlite option when wordpress move on (not like wp to pdo).
Thank you for doing it.

Gret plugin, which … just works.
This has been long overdue that someone created this & it is great.
Some of the documentation (on this site) needs to be improved, but I happily set up a test site and then a live site with very little fuss.
Now I have a site which is easily re-located when need be.

Works nicely, thank you!
