hi all
I’m new in this forum and i’ve a question for someone who wants to help me.
is it possible to replace google maps with openstreet maps in all slides menù? thanks for replies !!!
I’ve just discovered Storymaps at the website [link below] and done an initial test. My “gigapixel” image works just fine there— I have folder on another website that can be accessed via https, so the image zooms and so forth in the Storymap website.
However, this same URL doesn’t appear when using this plugin, and it is not really clear how this thing operates. I think it would be great if you could provide more documentation on how to use this possibly wonderful tool. I think if the visual effects of a Storymap could be combined with WordPress you’d have a really powerful presentation!
On the Storymap Slides Add New, the map to search for a location is showing following error: “Google … This page can’t load Google Maps correctly.” and map shows a watermark stating “for development purposes only”.
I assume this is because I need to include the “Maps Javascript API” key. Is that the correct API key? And if so, where should it be added in WordPress?
Is this the correct syntax?

I’m new to WordPress; any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Steve
1) This plugin MUST be updated because it is NEEDED
2) the images are not shown in the output
3) Where can I disable these stupid social media links at the left bottom which have nothing to do with my story?????
Please the line 275 in storymaps-core.php to “
‘text’ => apply_filters(‘the_content’, $slide->post_content),”
in the next version to get a full, HTML and shortcode friendly content on slides. ??
Hi, I’ve been searching for this plugin to go along with the timeline one–so excited!
I am, however, having a lot of issues getting started. Is there any detailed documentation on getting a series of test posts/slides built? I’m also receiving page not found when I view one of my story maps: https://ecdaproject.org/commons/storymap/teststorymap/
I tried using the shortcode embed, but it’s not loading at all: https://ecdaproject.org/commons/map-test/
I am guessing I’m doing something (most likely a lot things) wrong.
I’d really be thankful for any support/documentation available!
Best,
Ben
Hi,
I have a storymap https://tictac-go.com/blog/?storymap=9.
The story map title is called “Testing”.
I embeded the following shortcode in my post:
[storymap id=”9″ name=”Testing”]
However it is not working.
May I know is the shortcode correct?????
I am having trouble figuring out how to change the font size on:
.vco-storymap h2.vco-headline-title
It appears as though these properties are applied from the KnightLabs files remotely hosted, maybe?
I tried using a simple CSS override, but it’s not working for me.
The fonts are rendered google fonts I do believe, so maybe it’s in a js file someplace.
Loving this plugin but having trouble putting it all together to make edits and do custom css, easily.
Ih ave a question regarding the installation instructions:
From installation instructions page:
——————-
1. Upload storymaps to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory & activate
2. Upload advanced custom fields or advaned custom fields pro to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory & activate
3. Activate StoryMaps
——————-
When should Storymaps plugin be activated before activating Advanced Custom Fields plugin (as in step 1) or (after as in step 3) or should it possibly read de-activate and re-activate… should it matter?
I’ve tried activating this plugin on roughly 5 sites, so far it has worked on one of those five. The content type of story maps, categories brings up all the categories, and not just those for Storymaps. so I feel like part of the problem is something to do with categories possibly.
Hello.
I’m not sure if this plugin is supported by Knightlabs anywhere online, but I’m posting this support question both here and in the WordPress directory support in the hope that I can receive some help!
I am using the WordPress plugin version of Storymaps, and would like to implement a custom Mapbox style within this. For some reason, the conditional logic of clicking on mapbox:map-id to display the map-id field does not work. However, I am able to inspect the page markup to make the field temporarily available and insert my custom Mapbox id. I then save the page and this data is saved to the database as when I make the field appear (temporarily) again, I see my map-id there. On the front end however, I only see blank tiles.
Is anybody able to help with this issue?
Thanks,
Pete
I am experiencing an issue with media images. If I link an image via the field “Media External Content” it shows properly and the icon on the overview slide indicates an image too. But if I use the image from my own repository and linking via “Media image” the icon indicates a text slide only and no image is shown.
Hello.
Since installing the Storymaps plugin, an archive page for my custom post type has stopped working. Previously the page was using archive-journal.php but when the plugin is activated, it ignores this and defaults to index.php.
This definately seems to be linked to the plugin, as when de-activated the template is found again.
Any help you can offer on this? Urgent!
Thanks,
Pete
Hey uiux!
I love this plugin and I am trying to use it for the company website I currently work with.
I followed the instructions to set up several Storymap Slides and published them.
Followed by creating a Storymap to use the slides in. However, when I open the Storymap, none of the slides show up to be selected. I have read the previous topic and I am unsure if the Advanced Custom Fields is the issue (I am using the free version).
Hi, I’m trying to use the plugin and I can’t create a StoryMap. I have made 3 slides with category “tour1” (not sure what this is for). Then I made a StoryMap, but the slides are not available there for choosing, the only thing available to choose in “slides” section of the StoryMap is the StoryMap itself.
I absolutely love your StoryMapsJS and I understand this plugin is kind of new, that’s why I don’t want to and will not write a bad review for this plugin. But could you please explain to me how to use it? I really don’t get it. Also, what are the shortcodes?
