I had the great misfortune of trying this plugin.
Unfortunately for some reason, I had the word “class” as a tag from a post..
Then this very unintelligent plugin recognized every occurence of the word class inside the html code of my posts and converted that to a tag inside the html code (a total mess)
for example where it found
a img class=”something” src=…..
it converted this to
a img class=”StrictlyAutoTagAnchor” title=”find all articles about class here” > class……
This plugin broke completely the code of thousands of posts on my site and I had to go clean up after it.
Stay away. Don’t even install.

This is at least the second year since I began using this plugin. I thought I had already added a review. It’s on my favourites list because it does everything I wanted it to do and makes much tags easier to deal with.

I don’t find it get’s the job done and when it does, it’s not straightforward to undo what has already been done. I noticed this especially with strong tags and deep linking.

There are 2 problems:
1. Some “Long” words like UTILIZATION it’s cutting up to UTILIZA
2. If I don’t like a tag which has been discovered like EP, LT, MAI …etc and I want to delete them by clicking the X and then save the post whithout them it can’t be done.
I have to disable this plugin , delete undesired tags, save, and then enable again the plugin if I want to .
3. What if “Ignore Capitals Percentage” is set to 0 ?

I love how easy it is to auto-generate relevant tags on all posts or just the ones that are not tagged already. There are some valuable options in the settings area to fine-tune what you want the plugin to do for your particular site. Great work! I wish more free plugins were this powerful and effective at doing what they are designed to do.

Great range of options. Love the way it can apply logic to tag selection. Only problem I’ve had is trying “unbold” tags after accidently scanning with the bold option on.

If anyone is having problems with WP auto install please just manually copy the files into your directory (NOT the .zip file)!
For some reason WP (after asking me to change the text-domain so that multi languages can be used) has also added a .pot (Powerpoint file) that is in fact a text file (When opened in a text editor). This may also cause problems when using the WordPress plugin update operator.
The only files you need in the plugin folder strictly-autotags are
strictlyautotags.class.php
strictlyautotagfuncs.php
readme.txt
Anything else is not needed.
You can get the latest files from > https://plugins.svn.www.ads-software.com/strictly-autotags/trunk/tags/3.0.2/
Or you can get the latest free version from my site > https://www.strictly-software.com/plugins/strictly-auto-tags
Or download the zip file from this site and just remove anything apart from those 2 .php files and the readme.txt file.
Also…
PLEASE DO NOT try and use the WordPress plugin upgrade feature to upgrade if you have purchased the premium plugin. This will just overwrite your paid for plugin with more features with the free version and you will lose lots of functionality.
If you read the PHP 7 changes then /e has gone from RegExp there is a fix for it on the site and facebook support page > https://www.facebook.com/strictlysoftware/
I have changed jobs and subversion is set up on my Work PC so it will be hard to get sorted I might just throw both up on my site.
To the person talking about “class” being turned into a class tag inside the anchors I will look at that but a lot of the problems we had due to nested tags were fixed in a previous version. And anyway you should always do the following if your paranoid about a post.
-Think first, did you donate or pay for the plugin. Is Karma giving you revenge.
-Backup your DB with WP DB, at least you can roll back then.
-Copy the HTML to a file so you have the original code
-Always save a “draft” of the copy first so you can see which tags it has done and which need changing, adding or fixing your code.
-Publish when happy not unhappy with the article.
Thanks
