I can never find the custom styles for the subtitle in twenty fourteen. I’ve looked through all the settings three times.
Where is it?
Is this plugin still supported? It hasn’t been updated in 2 years.
I turned off WP Smush and Twenty Fourteen Styles is working again.
Please help. I have a dozen sites using this theme and can’t make changes on any of them.
This just started with this round of updates.
The changes enter in the customizer, show in the preview, and there is no error message on saved. Saved is dimmed.
When I close the customizer, the site has not changed.
I recently installed styles twenty fourteen, with mixed success.
It will not finish loading on my home computer; it will completely load on my work computer.
Anyone know where the conflict would be? Browser? Operating System?
I’m stumped…

I recommend asking in this dedicated support sub-forum for better results so its developers and users can help you with this:
https://www.ads-software.com/support/plugin/styles-twentyfourteen
Also note that this plugin is:
Compatible up to: 3.9.9
Last Updated: 2 years ago
it may have compatibility issue with the latest WP
Having installed wp-smush,
https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-smushit/
the plugin won’t work at all. After activation wp throws the following error:
“Styles is almost ready! To add theme options for Twenty Fourteen, please install Styles: Twenty Fourteen.”
deactivating wp-smush resolves it, the plugin is then usable.
I customized my colors when I set up my page, and found the Styles plugin very useful. Except I had a heck of a time finding where to change the colors of the page numbering at the bottom of the blog page. I eventually found it and changed them, but then I just realized I still need one more thing tweaked. And I forgot where I finally found them the last time. I have been trying to figure it out to no avail. Can someone please tell me the part in “Customize” where I can find the controls for this. Specifically the current page is highlighted by this little green bar above it and it should be a blue bar matching my pages color scheme. https://mandysmedia.com/godosometwitter/
Thanks

I just want to change the size of the font that appears on in the content part of the pages and the blog content as well, Not the title of posts or pages. Just the body I should say.
Also, I do have a child theme for Twentyfourteen.
So what code snippet do I need to change in the css. Can anyone help?
Hello,
a very nice plugin.
Can I have a different font size of the post’s titles below the featured images in the home page from the post’s titles in their single page?
I tried different settings but I did not succeed.
Thank’ s
Claudio
In the latest version of WP, changing colours of menu background has no effect.

Hi there, I’m trying to resize the featured grid title and it’s not working. I’m using the “featured content styles” area and it does not work.
It seems that the featured title is directly tied to “Entry Styles – Headings” and is the same as the title for my post titles (which I naturally want bigger). Hard to explain, but if you just look at my website, you can see the large texts on the featured grid.
Thanks!
Hi, I like Twentyfourteen, but would like to customize a bit, so I’ve tried a couple of plugins. Styles (and Colours) is good, and does much of what I’d like, BUT I’m finding that with Styles installed and active, the top menu doesn’t stay visible when scrolling down the page. When I uninstall it, the menu goes back to being visible.
Any suggestions of a plugin that will enable me to change site title size/colour, but leaves the menu visible when scrolling down?
Please and thank you!

I have 3 websites, 2 of them single websites and a mulitligual website. The two single websites I opened recently and have use twenty fourteen from the very beginning. Have used Styles twenty fourteen on both of them, have changed the code so they are centered. I have not used child theme for these sites. I updated WP to 4.0 and also twenty fourteen, and both sites work perfect. But the multilingual site didnt handle the update. After the upgrade I got the msgs I wrote in the heading of this posting. I asked in the WP forum for multisites and was advised to deactive plugins and switch them one one by one again to find the one that made the trouble. I did,a nd I could switch back all the plugins and it worked. No plugin seemed to be the problem, but the problem was solved.
Then I was adviced to make a child theme. I so did with the plugin “child theme one click”, and it looked ok, but when I refreshed the site, the styles twenty fourteen was out of function. I gave up and deleted the theme. I have now tested some other themes to see if they are easier, but I came back to twenty fourteen, and started all over again with adding the theme. Now I get the same error again about the style plugin. Why do this happen over and over again, when there is no plugin that makes the trouble? I cant keep on deactivate and activate the plugings constantly to make this work.

It doesn’t seem there is an option to change the Black background behind the title of a post. You can change it on the featured section but not on the posts that are not included.
Any ideas?
Hi all,
I’ve managed to finally figure out how to change the width of the right sidebar. Please see my post if interested
https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/make-main-content-column-wider?replies=2#post-5877392
Now my question is does anyone how to make the content width wider? I have fourteen extended installed and the only option to increase the content area width is to increase it by pushing it to the left. If you see my page
https://johnnyafrica.com/2014/07/22/weekend-wine-country/
You’ll see there’s plenty of unused space between the content and the right sidebar. I’d like to utilize that space. ANyone know how to go about this??
Thanks!
I’m using styles and styles-twentyfourteen plugins. Whenever I load a page, it gets fetched twice from the server. The second fetch is as a background image and I think it’s because there’s inline css as follows:

I believe the empty url() is causing the browser (Firefox latest) to load the current page as the background image.

hi!, i have this message at the top, also i have the last version 1.0.2
i tried to disable and deleting (styles & styles twentyfourteen) i lost my setting for styles like custom google fonts..tried to reinstall but message block the custom use of it in live editing (Styles is almost ready! To add theme options for.., etc) in preview mode so i can’t use it;

thanks.
Hi, I love the ability to widen twenty fourteen with a plugin and I’ve set the overall width to 1364 and I have a matching header image. When I import it, WordPress wants to crop it to 1260 and doesn’t allow me to skip cropping. Is there a workaround without me having to write code? Thanks for your help.
I have a problem:
Featured Title 10 px (in settings “Featured content styles”), but on site 30 px like post title ()
How to fix it?
This seems to be a great and powerful plugin, so I want to rate it well. But every change I make doesn’t save when I click the “Save & Publish” button – when I go to the site everything is back the way it was. I’ve tried every permutation of turning other plugins on and off, and uninstalling and reinstalling these plugins many times. I can’t get it to work. Would love a solution….
I was trying to use this plugin together in combination with Fourteen Extended one, but when both are enabled, the dropdowns in the customisation menu simply don’t work. Extended works with “Fourteen colours”, however.
Just thought I’d let you know!
I’m able to install the plugin with no problem but when I go to customize I can see that all of the features are there but everything is incredibly slow (like I’m out of memory) and I sometimes get a google kill page, or after being stuck for so long, it defaults back to the themes page. I have your other plugin installed (Fourteen Extended) which I deactivated but still no luck. I can tell the problem is when I have both Styles By Paul Clark 10up and your Styles: Twenty Fourteen active at the same time. But that is necessary in order for your plugin ti work correct? Do I have the correct style file loaded that you refer to in your installation instruction? Maybe it’s something I downloaded at an earlier date but I’m assuming it came with the plugin download.
Please see the link below. I love what Styles 2014 does, but I cannot find where to change the color of the white box (don’t know what it’s called) at the following url.
I have changed the sidebars, background and content to one color. Where the white shows (around the content window) I would like to change to the same color.
Can your program do that, or must it be done in a child theme? What is that area called?
I use this page for demo things before trying it on my big sites.
Thank you.
I tried to combine the theme of Sequel with the plugins of twenty fourteen. When I tried to work on the slider, I got this message: Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_is_mobile() in /home/roadtr11/public_html/wp-content/plugins/fourteen-extended/inc/fourteenxt-customizer.php on line 633
I don’t have any access anymore to my website: https://road-tripping-europe.com. Please help me!
Just at the experimental stage with a local site copy, but I ran into a plugin conflict that the author would want to know about it.
I was turning off plugins to see why the Twentyfourteen Styles options would not show up under Customize… It appears to be NextCellent Gallery (the fork from NextGen 1.9.13 due to the 2.0.0 NextGen major changes) is the source of the conflict. Deactivate NextCellent, and the new Styles options show up after refresh. Reactivate, and they disappear.
I checked with older versions of original NextGen Gallery (1.9.13) and newer (2.0.59), and there was NO conflict. So it does appear to be a bug (or something) related to NextCellent fork specifically.
I plan to copy/repost at the NextCellent support page.
It looks like it’s a great plugin but it doesn’t work for me.
First of all I can’t activate styles from the plugins directory (not valid plugin header). But I was able to do it from customizer later (it gives an activation link in there). Unfortunately no new styling options appeared.
I have fourteen colors plugin so I have deactivated it and tried to launch styles plugin after that… Again – no results. Any ideas why?
