The plugin hasn’t been updated since WP 5.6.4, and I’m on WordPress 5.8.

The setup process is not as straight-forward as the “FAQ” of the plugin instructs… Once under “Settings > Tabify Edit Screen”, you have to
1) scroll all the way down (which can take a minute if you have a custom field packed theme)
2) hit “create new tab”
3) click on “choose title” to rename the tab (i.e: “SEO”)
4) scroll up and down to pick the custom field of your choice (i.e: “SEO” field) and then position it where your newly created tab is;
5) repeat all the above for each post type on your website (in my case: posts, pages, media, blocks, post types, *each* custom post type, taxonomies, templates, grid builder, field groups).
Though the setup was a bit confusing and time consuming, I do believe I’ll have great use of this plugin, as I can make the UI of the edit pages more intuitive and fitting for how I want to navigate a WordPress website.
My security plugins are sending me repeat warnings about this plugin as it has not been updated in 4 years which is indeed concerning from a code security point of view. As soon as the plugin gets a fresh update, I’ll give it a 5-star rating as it is what it deserves.
EDIT: I see that the plugin is intentionally designed to maintain backward-compatibility with older versions of WordPress, so I guess this is why it has not been patched up to this day. I’m fine with that, so raising my review to 5-star.

This plugin is hot sauce. For websites with lots of custom fields and metaboxes, this is a game-changer for UX.

If you have really a lot of custom meta boxes in your post type, this plugin is perfect to organise it. Looks great, and easily integrated.

Really excellent plugin. Would be even more amazing if it had the ability to export/import settings. Currently it seems to require duplicating efforts for each site. Unless I’m missing something. Otherwise it fills a much needed role.

on my first try at this one i didn’t notice the ADD NEW TAB at the very bottom of the page (poor placement for new people) and didn’t give this plugin much more thought.
on my second try just now i noticecd the NEW TAB button and realized how this thing works.
for those who spend a lot of time in WordPress, especially with a theme that has really long Page Editor functions, this plugin is a Godsend. get all those page boxes that are way way down at the bottom of the editor moved to a new tab right there at the top. FANTASTIC.
good job, author.

With all of the options one has for editing posts etc scrolling down to fill in boxes becomes tedious so this fits the bill well. It also works for woocommerce and WC Vendor. If you’ve got other people entering data into your website then this makes it a lot easier for them.
Great plugin – probably one of my top 10.

The plugin works great – it was exactly what I wanted – except for one bug. I posted a message for support two months ago and the developer has not responded.

I use it with Types plugin to put some order on the extra fields on my custom post types. It’s perfect! (Almost, it doesn’t recognize all the Types extra fields, like fields table in CPT relationships, but, nevertheless, it works!)

This plugin is simple in what it does, but it does it great!
It is extremely useful for creating better edit screen UI, expecially when dealing with custon post types and many fields.
I’m using it with Pods and love it.

Awesome. Great way to tidy up editor screens and make them more user friendly. Tabify’s features should be built in to WP.

To switch between SEO tab and content in the WP back-end is easy with Tabify Edit Screen. Well done Marko & code kitchen!!
It works perfectly in 3.7!!

Simply your life with this plugin, it’s great!
Please note one thing for white label users.
I use White Label Branding from Codecanyon.net, which gives me the option to save default layouts for users. But, note with this plugin you need to layout all your meta boxes first and then save it as your default layout. then from there when you create your tabs (or your already have) your meta boxes will be saved in their respective locations.
Basically, if you save a default layout for other users and have a meta box on the right hand side for example. Even though you create your custom editor tabs and have those meta boxes moved from the right to the middle… they will still show on the right hand side to other users. Set save your layouts first.

Perfect for just clearing out the overseen clutter of the WordPress interface when you have several meta boxes. This is just so much better, for myself, clients, and the world!

This plugin is absolutely essential for improving the WP Admin UI for clients. Edit screen can get very crowded and confusing when plugins add extra metaboxes all over the place. This plugin can help restore some sanity, and makes the admin much easier to use for your clients.
It’s also very well written, with hooks for changing just about anything you would need too. I use this in pretty much all my projects – a must use plugin – great work!

The year: 2013
Our website used to be simple and organized. It was easy to add new content. Then they came…
Plugins and themes, with their ugly metaboxes, and pointy teeth…invading our post edit screens. Chaos ruled unchallenged. We dared not open the post edit screen anymore and our websites slowly grew old and uncared for.
But not all hope was lost!
There were tales across the land about how one new and shiny plugin could bring peace and order to the chaos. Nobody believed it at first, but more and more told the same story of neatly tabbed interfaces for posts, and how their love for editing and creating content was returning to even the most obscure corners of the WordPress universe.
Our quest was clear, we rode at dawn to the sanctuary of the plugin repository and lo and behold – the legend was true!
It’s name was Tabify Edit Screen and we saw that it was good. There was much cheering and rejoicing. (and beers were drank)
The land could be at peace once more and tabify their Edit Screens.
The end.

I can’t imagine a site without this plugin running on it, it keeps things organized and that makes administration super quick and easy for me. Not only is it a great benefit for me as a developer, it’s also insane to think of a site being passed off to a client without this.
I used to be one of those people who didn’t know what life was like with tabs, but let me tell you – this is a plugin you really just have to install. Stop reading this review, and go download and activate it! When you’re done, come back and review this plugin with your own praise. It deserves every bit!
Kudos Marko! Looking forward to building additional support for Pods soon!

Simple et rapide à utiliser. Pas de superflu.
Les fonctions principales sont là sans surcharge.
Plus intuitif que Ultimate Metabox Tabs.
Merci !
