Posted here about this. Basically the plugin broke how srcset image URLs were being written. All my thumbnails broke after upgrading to WordPress 4.4.
Changed from this plugin over to the WP Offload S3 Plugin, and all works fine now.
]]>This plugin was working great but now I get an HTTP error when attempting to Add Media and Upload a file while in a post, or if I’m in the Media section and attempt to upload, the page simply won’t load (Chrome’s “This Web Page Is Not Available”).
I think it’s got to have something to do with the wp-content/uploads directory not having write permissions, since it’s Heroku but it doesn’t make sense that this plugin worked before. I’ve got the “Copy files to S3 as they are uploaded to the Media Library” box checked.
Any ideas?
]]>Love this plug-in.
I noticed if the plugin is set to delete file after upload it is not making the thumbnails. Is there a fix I can implement to make sure the thumbnails are made?
Thanks,
Paul

]]>Everything seems to be connecting properly to my S3 account because the folders show in the drop down. The problem is that instead of the link to the image being moodyins.s3.amazonaws.com it is https://MoodyIns.s3.amazonaws.com/moody/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/page1-img1x.jpg which does a broken link on the image.
Also why does this plugin not display the sub folders on S3?

]]>Hi,
I have two websites hosted on Amazon Opsworks, the first one has this plugin set up and uploads media to an s3 bucket no problem. When setting up the second one, all uploads silently fail.
As soon as i set the second site to use the same bucket as the first site, it works. If i use a different Amazon account and upload to the first bucket it works. If i create a second bucket on that other Amazon account, uploads fail without any error message.
Is bucket selection broken?

]]>There’s never any content when you click on S3, it just says the folder is empty. Clicking the back button seems to activate the back button of the browser, taking you to the last page you were on in the site, not the last place you were in the media manager.
Also, it seems to interfere with other plugins who add options to the Media Manager. We utilize Brightcove video cloud which adds an option underneath the S3 link. When I click on it, for some reason I get the S3 plugin interface stating that there is nothing in the folder. After clicking on Brightcove and it becoming active, mousing over any of the links shows the S3 url, not a BC one.
Example: Upload, Home, etc all link to https://chicagophoenix.com/wp-admin/media-upload.php?chromeless=1&post_id=19511&tab=tantan-wordpress-s3&prefix

]]>Hi,
I just downloaded this plugin, and am having difficulty getting it to work. I entering in all the Amazon info into the program, namely the Access Key ID, Secret Key, bucket, did not check host name, and checked the last three, and no info into the last Cloud Front entry.
Tne video tutorial does not link anywhere, and so far with all these steps, it has not linked to the Amazon account. Are there any additional steps that I need to be aware of.
Thanks.

]]>Hi,
I had this plugin working fine on WordPress 3.3.1 multi site in a single server test environment, but when I moved it across to my production environment I started having problems. I am load balancing wordpress across two Linux servers but with one MySQL database server.
I network activated the plugin, then configured it site by site with my Amazon S3 details, but it seemed to work only intermittantly. By taking the servers out of the load balancing I have found that it works fine on all of my sites on one of the servers, but on the second it works for the main site but none of the sub sites.
If I upload onto this server through wordpress, at first glance it looks ok, the upload gets to 100% etc. but the files aren’t getting pushed out into S3, you can’t preview the images and the file location url it generates is pointing to the uploads directory for the site on my wordpress server (not my s3 bucket even though the plugin looks to be configured ok), but if you try to open the URL it returns a 404 error and the file doesn’t open. So the file isn’t on S3 or in my uploads/blogs.dir folder.
On the server log i can see an upload error: ‘failed to open stream: Permission denied in /var/www/html/wp-admin/includes/file.php on line 348’ but the permissons for my uploads and blogs.dir folders are correct for allowing uploads and uploads all worked fine before I activated the plugin!
The worst thing is if I deactivate the plugin WordPress won’t return to its default behaviour of uploading just to the uploads/blogs.dir directories on the wordpress server. Uploads continue not to work even with the plgin turned off.
Does this plugin write to any files on the wordpress server, such as .htaccess that would need to be replicated on both of my load balanced servers? Although the .htaccess files on both servers do look identical!
I would appreciate any help.

]]>hello, is there a way to delay the mirroring to s3? I use automatic cropping and watermark for my pictures but they get mirrored to s3 before the watermark gets printed on them, thus i find the pic on my server watermarked but the one on s3 isn’t. need to delay mirroring by a few seconds, how to do that?

is there an easy way to remove the files from the original wordpress media library again, after the upload to the amazon bucket was successfull, so no duplicate content exists? I already checked the code, but couldn`t figure it out…

It works nicely on localhost, but when I deploy and attempt to upload media on Heroku, the images are never uploaded to S3.
I’m guessing it’s a Curl issue, but I haven’t been able to confirm that yet…

]]>Will this delete files from the s3 bucket?
I tried deleting them from the my WordPress Media Library, but the files still appear in the s3 bucket. Since the upload to the s3 bucket was not delayed, I kind of expected the delete to be immediate too.
I can do this manually if needed. I’m walking through my workflow in a test mode before I go in the live website.

]]>Hi there,
Is there any chance to include some subfolders I have within uploads folder to be sent to s3 as well?
I have a downloads monitor plugin uploading files to a “downloads” folder located into uploads. When I check on my S3 console, only the files stored under 2012>month are sent, but all other folders I have within uploads are not there.
I really need to send those files to s3 since users of the site I’m developing will upload VERY large files and having those on the server is not an option.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can shed some light on this.
Best.

]]>Thanks for the awesome plugin. Works almost perfectly.
However, we run our WordPress blog using SSL, but uploaded files get a non-SSL link to the Amazon S3 bucket, which ends up producing warnings (IE SSL warnings, by default, are particularly invasive).
Could you add support for having uploaded files use https instead of http? Probably a a checkbox on the configuration page telling the plugin to generate https links instead of http links would be fine.

]]>Hi,
You should enable debugging mode when you are developing your plugin. It generates a lot of errors and has some deprecated functions.
I want to give your plugin a shot, but I am still in developing phase so U have debugging enabled. This plugin just generates too much errors, I can not try it. I can’t even see the menu properly.

]]>Hi, This is a great plugin, and I like this very much.
One thing, I would like to ask you is that setting “private” ACL to putObjectStream method in lib.s3.php.
Since the document in the code saids the default is “private”, the source code itself set the default as “public-read”.
If we could set the ACL value(permission) in config.php, it would be a better idea to set the value to the putObjectSream as well.
I wanted to set the value as private, since I’m using bucket policy, and restrict ACL. Please give a option to set the private. Otherwise I have rewrite the default value.
Thank you for your plugin, anyway! ??
