Please help. I am currently building a bibliographical database in WordPress using TeachPress. I understand that I can import a Bibtex format file, and as I currently have an Excel spreadsheet with over 2,000 bibliographical records in that I want to import, I have written a VBA macro to generate a multi-record bibtex text file (biblio.txt). So far, for testing purposes, that file only includes 7 records.
When I select that file, using the TP Publication import function, whilst it initially shows me all of the seven titles I want to import into my WordPress file, I can only see the TP Publication entry for the final record in the finished import. Further, if I then return to the Import/Export page and select one of the other titles, again, I can only see the BibTex record of the final entry.
I can, of course, select the individual BibText records from my text file, and paste them individually and then import each one manually, but ideally I want to bulk import the records as a ‘one-off’ process.
Has anyone come across this before, and/or do they have any solution to this?
Thanks for any solution
Is it possible to add an extra Type to the list? For instance ‘Reviews’

Lately, after adding new publications I can see the updates on my computer browser but other people don’t see them and if I go to the webpage on my phone I can’t see them either. Even if I clear my cache and all data it still doesn’t appear to work. Eventually it seems publications will show up. I’m wondering why this might be happening. Ideally I’d like publications to appear immediately after adding them.

]]>Hi!
The new Cloudflare WAF for everyone has recently affected our website. The “Free Cloudflare Managed Rulese”, as of today, contains the following rules:
It looks like the teachPress URL to delete publication entries triggers the “Sorry, you have been blocked” screen from Cloudflare.
The solution I found is to remove the “orderby=” part of the URL (for example: “orderby=date+DESC%2C+title+ASC”). Everything works as expected and the block is not triggered.
Hope it helps and it can be implemented soon!
Best regards,

Hi all,
I have a list of publications and I would like to have them numbered in reverse order. I do know how to program and I know a bit of PHP. However, this is the first time I’ve tried editing any WordPress plugin.
I’m not sure if any template has this already or if this is even feasible. Some advice would be appreciated.
Where I started from with my search is templates/tp_template_2021.php
? In particularly, the get_entry ()
function seems to be doing string concatenation. So, I guess what I need to do is add a number to the line "$s = '<div class="tp_publication' . $class . '">';
?
This seems to be called by the get_single
function in core/publications/templates.php
. I noticed there is a $pub_count
variable that is initialised to 0. I could subtract it from the total number of publications (which is available at the top, next to the word “entries”) to get a decreasing number…
Anyway, that is my current idea at the moment. But given there is a number being passed into the function, I’m wondering if there is an even easier way. Or is what I’m considering even impossible and I shouldn’t bother trying.
Thank you in advance!
Ray
I’m sure you can do this by editing the css file, but I can’t find where to make the change. I would like to change the background colors of the publication type to match my theme colors.

I am new to Tech Press.
I am uploading the publications data by copying the bibtex data directly from my publication as a single .txt file.
Everything works well as desired except the publication URL is not showing (also because when i uploaded the data – there was no mention of that either)
How can I solve this ?

]]>Hi,
When I set an author on a publication with a composed surname, e.g. Name Surname Jr., setting an entry: Name {Surname Jr.} displays “Jr., Name Surname” instead of the desired “Surname Jr., Name”. However, if I do more complex surnames like Name {de A. Surname}, it displays correctly “de A. Surname, Name”.
Is there some way to solve this issue? Maybe some adjustment on the template.php?
Thanks!

Hi,
In the past week or so the publications lists via shortcodes are for the most part broken. They are showing “Sorry, no publications matched your criteria.” where we have the shortcode pasted, plus any new shortcodes created or pasted display this in test pages.
Bizarrely however, on one other page we have a teachPress shortcode added, it’s still displaying the publications but it squashing the entire list from a full width to about a quarter of the width. Adding new shortcodes to this page will also not display the lists, which again is pretty odd.
One final thing, when we navigate to the teachPress admin page on our site, the list shows a total number for the publications, but nothing actually appears as a list. As well, the using any of the UI other than ‘Add new publication’, triggers a block for the page with the message: “
Sorry, you have been blocked
You are unable to access [examplesite.com]
The latter is a Cloudflare block so of course there could be something there, but nothing has changed on this site’s setup and teachPress is still partly working. So it’s all very strange! Can anyone help shed some light on this?
Best regards
David
]]>Hello,

]]>Hi,
Selecting one of our 3 tags from the pulldown causes the page to refresh and the pulldown to reset to ‘All tags’ (i.e. the previous selection has been forgotten), and all publications continue to be displayed, unfiltered by the selected tag.
We implement the publications filter via the [tpcloud] shortcode, as follows:
[tpcloud headline=”3″ style=”numbered” entries_per_page=”200″ show_tags_as=”pulldown” show_user_filter=”0″ anchor=”0″]
Testing shows this isn’t related to cookies or browser type / version.
Repro steps:
1. Visit page
2. Click on the ‘All Tags’ pulldown and select any tag
3. Page refreshes and the pulldown displays ‘All Tags’ again, instead of the selected tag. Results remain unfiltered. All publications continue to be displayed but we expect to see only filtered results matching the selected tag.
Thanks in advance.
]]>I just started playing with this plugin and I love that you can import references from PubMed just by including the PMID and hitting import. However, I was wondering if there is or will be a way to import a full PubMed list, like a list of all articles that cite a specific grant or attributed to a specific author; example: this list –
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/myncbi/lauren.aleksunes.1/bibliography/public/?sortby=pubDate&sdirection=descending.
Thanks in advance!

Hi,
When using teachpress tpcloud or tplist to generate a list of publications for my website, I am not able to get a link to an uploaded file. If I upload a pdf file to the Media center, I can display a link to the file host page but not a link to a new tab with the pdf open. Leaving the link setting at “None” displays no file link.
How do I get my publications to display a link for my uploaded pdfs?
