Hi Scott Reilly,
I’m revisiting a previous topic that I wrote on the Text Hover support page (“Hovered terms appearing in all posts”).
I requested if there’s a possibility to prevent certain terms from appearing in other posts. As I include more and more posts on my site, I’m finding that I’m going to be in a pickle with all the terms I have.
Just to give a little reminder: so, my website is providing blog articles/posts and I choose which words to give some descriptions to. For instance, I will decide to give the definition of the noun “notice” as “(a board, piece of paper, etc. containing) information or instructions”. After a while, I will see that on another post, the verb “notice” (to see something) is underlined with the noun definition.
I guess my website is a little tricky because I deal with simple terms for my customers. In the previous topic, you mentioned that you’ll put it on your To-Do list; however, I was hoping that it shimmies its way towards the top soon?
I like this plugin because it works so well with my website. Please let me know if this is possible.

When can we expect an update of this plugin that is compatible with WordPress 6.2.2?
]]>I tried out the plugin and it is (would be) very useful. However as soon as I use a dieresis (????ü) the whole content of my blog posts disappears. If this error is general, this means lots of people won‘t be able to use it, since their blog languages contain dieresis. Are other users experiencing the same issue? And (how) can it be solved? Thanks a lot.

]]>Hi there,
Text hover has been such a great help for my website, but I have a small issue.
I have multiple articles on my website with quite a few terms that are explained. How do I stop one term in post A from being hovered in Post B? For example, if I explain and hover the word “round” (meaning a bullet) in post A, but I have “round” in post B (meaning the circle shape), the bullet meaning “round” is showing up in post B.
Please help me if there is a way to keep one term for one post only? I’m not good with code stuff, but I’ll try.
Many thanks!
]]>Wondering if anyone else has had an issue with this plug-in stopping videos appearing on wordpress pages?
We are creating a closed access part of a clients website with video content from all of their online events, and then the videos stopped appearing on the live page (appeared on the editor). I found that when I disabled the text hover plug-in the video embeds worked again on the live pages.
It could be something to do with the Sprout theme being used or the extensive use of custom CSS, but I wondered whether anyone else had experienced this problem?
]]>Is it possible to add a hover text to a category title? I just downloaded this plugin solely for this purpose, but I can’t see how to do it. I’ve tried and nothing happened. If anyone has used the plugin for this, please let me know how to achieve it.

]]>I have a multilingual site and some most cases the French words work with special characters, but I have a few that don’t and I can’t figure out what the difference is. For instance
COURBE éPIDéMIQUE => the definition.
But this one doesn’t.
éTUDE CAS-TéMOIN => this is the definition.
Does it have anything to do with the French character in the beginning. I can’t see any rule that says I need to declare the unicode characters if so. Any why does the second word with the French character work.
Any guidance would be appreciated.
I have definitions that are repeated. EXAMPLE I have Culture and Culture shock. Both have different definitions. If I place Culture on top I only get Culture definition, if I place it below Culture shock I get Culture shock definition PLUS Culture definition. How can I resolve this?
]]>Hi I have tried this such as:
‘Students => this is the place for the pop up text’
And nothing seems to happen. I have tried several versions and nothing occurs. I am using Divi Builder. Could there be a problem here or should it still work fine??
]]>I thought I would just ignore the Don’t use HTML in the hovertext in Other considerations in the plugin settings (gotta love users like me who ignore warnings, which is probably the majority).
The HTML works fine. I looked at the page source in my browser and it seems that it converts the html tags to < and >. That means it’s up to the browser to interpret it or not. I tried it on Chrome, Firefox, IE, and Edge (granted, the latest versions of all of those) and they displayed everything as I had intended. I would suggest instead of the “Dont use HTML” message, that it would say something like “Your mileage may vary if you use HTML in the hovertext.” The developer even accounted for the fact that people would ignore his warning, because there’s a comment in text-hover.php code that says, “If the string to be hovered looks like it could be HTML, then just do true str_replace() and trust the user knows what they’re doing.”

Hey, I really need this text hover plugin for my blog, but unfortunately it doesn’t work.
Is there an update available to make it work for wp 4.7.1? Or can anyone recommend a similar plugin? Haven’t found one for text hover option. Thanks a lot in advance! Regards
Hi,
Your plugin only shows a question mark upon hovering on the keyword. The keyword itself is recognised and underlined, but no hover text appears. Not on the pre-made (WP => WordPress) keyword example either.
How to fix this?
]]>Hi!
This plugin looks like it will be perfect for what I need! However, it is incompatible with the plugin Collapse-O-Matic, which I am using on certain headings, h2 and h3, (showing up like this: Administrateur de compte” >Administrateur de compte). It works great on all words in others headings or in the body text.
If anyone could help:
My question is, how could I program Text Hover to not apply to any words in those particular collaspeable headings?
Thank you!
]]>Most of the postings in this support forum have not been answered. I will not use this plugin.
]]>Text Hover version –> 3.7.1
This is cool, but we can’t use it because it doesn’t put the dotted underline under glossary words on the page — in Safari, or Chrome (OK in Firefox) on a Mac. Also, I don’t see it working on my Parallels – Windows 8.1 browsers IE and Chrome (Firefox OK here too).
For a short while (couple of days) the plugin will be active on this page: https://iriscenter.staging.wpengine.com/module/asd1/cresource/q1/p02/#content — The word “communication” in the first paragraph will show the hover.
Note: The pages where I want the hovers to appear are a custom post type. Is that a problem?
Looking forward to a fix….
John
]]>I reported a bug that v3.7.1 is causing on my site but haven’t heard back. I understand that it might be a conflict with my specific theme so I would like to roll back to using 3.7.0 which worked fine. However, under the developer options, I do not see a link to download 3.7.0. Any suggestions on how to do this would be greatly appreciated.

]]>Text hover does not work on text inside a table using Tablepress. I added the text at the top of the page before the table so you can see what I’m talking about: https://tribalcon.com/test-table-page/
I’m not sure if there’s a way to make this work, but it would be helpful! At first I thought it was because it was a link so I removed that and just made it plain text. Still nothing.
]]>I just took the v.3.7.1 update & found a conflict that it is causing with the Avada Theme (a very popular paid theme). It uses the Fusion page builder for page customizations (similar to page bulider). The update is corrupting/altering the link in at least one of the buttons that I use on my membership options page to allow subscribers to login when clicking on premium content.
The latest Text Hover update causes the url from the green Login button at the top of the page to be changed from https://rightsideofthechart.com/wp-login.php to https://rightsideofthechart.com/%3Cacronym%20class=’c2c-text-hover’%20title=’WordPress’%3Ewp%3C/acronym%3E-login.php resulting in a 404 error.
That page can be accessed via this link.
Disabling the Text Hover plugin fixes the issue & it did not appear before the update so most likely that is the cause. Any suggestions or updates would be greatly appreciated.
Hi,
I am working on a LearnDash project and want to implement text hover on some of the topic pages. However the plugin does not seem to respond when adding my hover texts in the settings page. It only works on blog posts.
Can you please advise how i can go about making this work.
Thanks in advance.
