First, if you are looking for a calendar I wouldn’t use “The Event Calendar” by StellarWP. It is horrible – hard to use, poor documentation, crappy features, and bad UX. Just avoid it all together.
BUT – if you have to use the Event Calendar, then the “The Events Calendar Shortcode & Block” is an absolute must! It actually make the StellarWP Event Calendar somewhat tolerable.
There is no way I would install the Event Calendar by StellarWP without installing “The Events Calendar Shortcode & Block” This is a must have.

I use this plug in on a couple of different sites and find it can do what we want. Having various ways to categorize the events and to tag them is key to our use of them. We don’t use the Venue option because that hasn’t been needed – yet.
