Hi, I need to manage events with multipla dates of the same event, it’s for a Cinema hall that need’s to manage movies calendar where a single movie can be showed many time in different days for a period, like all the Cinema halls. Can you tell me if can I do that with this plugin and how can I do? Thanks!

The plugin is great, BUT…

all new pages throw a 404, though they are filled correctly with content. This bug only shows up when the theater plugin is activated, it is not theme specific, as we tried with different themes.

Indeed new posts work well as long as they are not pages.

Any idea how to solve this?

I’m using the Theatre plugin (v0.18.3) in combination with the Stager (tickets) add-on (v2.2.2).

Now I’m not sure if it’s the base Theatre plugin or the add-on, but we’re getting a fatal error when trying to sync with Stager (either automatically or manually) when on PHP 8.0 or 8.1 (WordPress core is at 6.2.2).

When switching back to PHP 7.4, the sync is working.
Is the plugin PHP 8.0 compatible? Or is there. something else failing?

Bit of a basic question, but how do I edit the single event page template? For instance on this event: https://electricpalace.com/production/enys-men/ I have added a BBFC certificate and I have an advanced custom field loaded for the director, but they aren’t showing on the event page. How do I know which template in the theme to edit to show these details and to change the layout?

Hi, I am no longer able to create events. When I try to create a new event I get the ‘There has been a critical error on this website’ message.

This might be in relation to a recent Pharma hack on the site, or possibly relates to the version of PHP on the server (8.1.13)

Is there anything you can suggest to fix this?

I understand I can link an event or production to the ticket url, but I cant get this to work.

Under Jeero settings, in the Theater for WordPress there is a variable called tickets_url, how do I link the event title to go to that page?

I am using your “Theater for WordPress” plugin on a website for an amateur theatre group in Bern Switzerland – thecaretakers.ch – Its working very well and with no problems

But on passing by the plugin page https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/theatre I saw that the plugin has the general warning at the top = >

“This plugin hasn’t been tested with the latest 3 major releases of WordPress. It may no longer be maintained or supported and may have compatibility issues when used with more recent versions of WordPress.”

… And has not been updated for 2 years, and was last tested only upto WP core v5.6.10 .. But the WP Core has now had a major up-issue to v6+ , and is currently at v6.1.1 !

Obviously the plugin doesn’t have to be updated if not needed, – the plugin works great for me ! and I see no issues with it. But the absence of testing against the latest WP Core version is a bit worrying

Is there any chance of testing against the latest WP version anytime soon ?

Is there a possibility to see an update of the plugin in a foreseeable time?
The plugin is now slowing down the hole system horribly. Especially the saving times throughout the hole system – not only the productions and dates, but also pages and posts. I see saving times between 1:30 and 1:50 min. This is insane.
I switched off all plugins except Elementor an WP Theatre – same result.
I switched on all plugins except WP Theatre and voilà – a max. off 4 sec.
That’s a big Problem, because it is a working Page, and it seems to become slower with every new Version of WP and/or Elementor.

We are working on a new theme for our existing site, so have a dev site that we are doing it on. The new theme uses WP-Bakery. The code on the old site (which works perfectly) is:

The {{tickets}} shortcode doesn’t seem to be pulling through the data as nothing is showing up. It links to an external site.

Any clues? I have tried it on a classic and WP-Bakery page.

I am having a problem with the timetable extension width. If there are too many dates, the table goes off the page.

One solution was to limit the number of dates, but I need to keep them all displayed.

Another solution found on github was : “I resolved that by putting the timetable in a div with style=”overflow-x:auto;” but I can’t do it properly without breaking the event page (screenshot linked).

Anyone can help me to get it worked on both event and production pages ?

Hi,
When adding new events, other admins on my site can’t find or see the “Dates Block” in the sidebar. We’re using WordPress’s 5.9.3 visual editor.

For me (site admin) it shows in the side bar above Seasons. For them, it’s not there (see screenshot). This screenshot is my view for example.
Everyone has the same admin permissions. Only thing to note is that I have built the site and installed all the plugins.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi, first of all i love your plugin, it’s exactly what I was looking for.
But i have issue with event pages. I assume, when I create an event (add title, text images), that when you click on link (in [wpt_events]) it should take you to event page. But that’s not the case for me. Those titles are taking me to /index.php//production/titleOfEvent/. I’m always getting 404 error. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. I’m using 0.18.3 version and 5.9.1. wordpress.

Hi,

As of Friday 24th there seems to be no connection between Stager and the plugin Theater. There is no error with updates. There is no large image (problem in recent past). We did not install a new plugin.

It seems to work, but new events and adjustments are not visible. They are visible in the Stager ticketshop.

We did use different ticket shops for online events; these imports went well. Maybe that created a problem now?

We would like to display our event listings horizontally, 4 across, on desktop view. Is this something we can do with the Theater listings by using CSS? I am comfortable with using CSS. The link shows our event page and we use the Theater plugin for this.

I am using Theater for WordPress and the Jeero plugin to import our events from AudienceView.

All of the show thumbnails are cut off on the right and left side, and I can’t find a solution through CSS to show the entire image.

When I do a query and add the order/orderby options I don’t get the expected results (the result is not ordered). This is my query

I am working on a website using the theatre plugin, and the plugin is great ! It handles nicely a production with multiple dates and a single date event of that production

I have added a teaser/slogan line custom field (using WordPress’s core custom field feature – not ACF ) to a production /event such that it is displayed just below the title of a) the individual production page , and b) the production entry in the productions/events listing page.

To do this I have added the custom field in php to the theme’s page template file – as a child theme, and also defined a custom set of fields in the [wpt_production] shortcode as described in the plugin’s documentation on Shortcodes , which also describes that you can use a custom field if you have defined one … So I defined , for past productions :

[wpt_productions start=”1990-01″ end=”now” order= “desc”]{{thumbnail|permalink}} {{title|permalink}} {{teaser}} {{dates}} {{cities}} [/wpt_productions]

… where {{teaser}} is the custom field

The problem is that the Theatre plugin, for the Production page , post type wp_theatre_prod, is not setup to support WP core custom fields.

But if I add support manually in the wpt_setup file :

Ie in function register_post_types() { …}

Change line :
‘supports’ => array(‘title’, ‘editor’, ‘excerpt’, ‘thumbnail’,’comments’),
To
‘supports’ => array(‘title’, ‘editor’, ‘excerpt’, ‘thumbnail’,’comments’, ‘custom-fields’),

Then all works fine !

So my questions are

Q1 : Why does the plugin not support custom fields when it implies that it can , in the docs at https://github.com/slimndap/wp-theatre/wiki/Shortcodes > in section ‘Production listing’ > ‘Template’ > ‘Custom fields’

Q2 : Is there a way / add action / filter to add custom field support without having to directly edit a plugin file ( not good as any edits will get wiped on an update) ?

Q3 : How does using the plugin Advanced Custom Fields compare in these regards ?
(I do see with the WP Core CF, that for a user it could be a bit confusing when they see as choices all the other event fields . maybe ACF is better in here, but I havn’t tried )

So, WP5.8 is almost coming out and I’m wondering if this is still going to be supported for that version… Since we haven’t seen a version bump to v5.7.2 yet ??

So, in our theatre group we do 4 plays per season… And we make a page per production… Now, I wonder if it’s possible to only show the play dates of one production instead of them all.

So, I’m testing out this plugin and liking it quite a lot… But, I have a question… I can add play dates and such but not display them… ?

Deleting events in bulk gives me an critical error. With the message to check the admin’s mailbox for instructions, but there is nothing there.

Wordpress works fine by the way… no critical error.

Anyone ideas on the issue?

The plugin Theater WP does not import any new events made in Stager. I had this problem a little while ago; the size of images was the problem. However, the images are small now; I don’t know how to fix it. Importing events – error 503 server unavailable is showing. Can you help me with this problem?
