Following an issue with explicit comments being entered on my website and numerous suspicious login attempts, I decided to look for a solution. Seems there a number of plugins that claim to solve the problem, however I found that some of the claims are not exactly accurate.
One particular popular plugin does not stop attempts from all anonymised sources, only blocking TOR (which could be legitimate). The ThreatPoint plugin is the one I found that has the most comprehensive coverage of all suspicious IP addresses. They use a consortium model as well as databases of known TOR, VPN, Proxy and Malicious addresses. This means the coverage is huge and dynamic (not just static lists). It’s easy to configure and use.
The suspicious access attempts on my website have stopped and the explicit comments have not returned. Perfect! Thanks Threatpoint.

Recently started a new WordPress site and I was looking for a plugin to provide extra protection in front of WP-Admin. I came across the ThreatPoint plugin and tried it. Requested an API key, received in minutes. Easy to install, configure and provides the peace of mind I was looking for to prevent unwanted access!

Been using this plugin for about a week now and it has blocked a huge amount of unwanted traffic from my wp-admin page with the whitelist function. Easy to install and configure and just what I needed after some unwanted traffic to the site previously.
