hi guys
I finally found this gem in the wordpress plugins space, thanks for creating it!
Very useful for what I needed.
I wrote the following shortcode:
[tpg_get_posts fields=”title,content” numberposts=2000 field_classes=”post_title=tpg-title-class,post_content=tpg-content-class, post_metadata=tpg-metadata-class, post_byline=tpg-byline-class” show_entire=false more_link_text=”»” shorten_content=”w170″ thumbnail_size=”thumbnail” mag_layout=”true”]
and was wondering:
1) is there any way to have links opened into a new tab?
2) how to tweak it in order to have all posts shown in alphabetical order by title, not by date?
I’d be happy to donate it for using it, but need at least the number 2 to be working as I need, otherwise I won’t be able to create what I need ??
thanks for your kind answer!
Marco
If you look at this link:
https://www.tashmina.co.uk/ensembles/aquarelle/news/
you will see “… Read more” under each post.
I have however always used the facility (throughout the site) to either replace this with a blank:
more_link_text=””
or to put in my own wording:
more_link_text=”Programmes”
It seems to have suddenly stopped working (instructions are ignored) since I upgraded my theme and also wordpress. But why would that change how more_link_text=”” is handled? What can I check next?
Many thanks

I have animated pics and it seems not to work well with thumbnail size medium & small so selecting LARGE is now having my title/content go under the image which looks confusing.

Pagination is busted (again.)
Here’s the code I’m using: [tpg_get_posts tag=”podcast” posts_per_page=10]
Pagination worked fine until the 4.5.2 update, and now it’s not working again, even with the 3.4.2 update to TPG.
Any thoughts?

I am having trouble with the text formatting. I am losing all the spaces and breaks between paragraphs.

How can I delete/translate the permalink:
Bookmark the permalink.
I tryied that options but didn’t work:
[tpg_get_posts numberposts:5 more_link_text=”…(Leer más)” permalink:false]
[tpg_get_posts numberposts:5 more_link_text=”…(Leer más)” permalink=””]
[tpg_get_posts numberposts:5 more_link_text=”…(Leer más)” bookmark:false]
[tpg_get_posts numberposts:5 more_link_text=”…(Leer más)” permalink=””]
could you help me?
hi there. I am just checking to see if your plugin will display a certain number of posts (say 5) with images, full width across the page, sort of like this: https://www.boychiklit.com
Thanks!

it’s hypothetical and i can’t try it because i don’t have 100 posts
or will it load more as the user scrolls down?

I did deactivate the plugins one at a time, but no luck. Any suggestions? I know you had some problems with themes … but it had worked with my theme until now. could it be the update to wordpress?
Hi! Thank you for your help before. I have taken your advice and the page looks awesome. Except for one thing. There are no margins. So the page is centered and looks super wide. Can you tell me how to add like a 25 px padding margin?
Current code:

[tpg_get_posts cat=”homepage””read more” numberposts=3]

Hi Chris-
I am having this problem. When I use tpg the formatting for the attached post is not working.
Using Invado these with a static home page:
Code here:
<p style=”text-align: center;”>

[tpg_get_posts cat="homepage" numberposts=2]

Hi – I tried a direct email but not sure if you saw it? I need to upgrade my plugin and also the extension, but there is something weird about my hosting (Inmotion brilliant in every way except this odd thing!) which doesn’t allow the install of the plugin extension. I have paid again for the extension in the hope it would work this time (was a while back originally) but no joy. When I first installed it originally you helped me by telling me how to go into the plugin files and amend it manually – this was the only way we got it working,. Can you please help again now as my plugin does not currently work (pagination not working)

How can I make “excerpts” text stop showing below the thumbnail in stead of to the right of it.

Why is show_entire=”false” doesn’t work? I’m using worpress 4.3.1 and the latest TPGget posts plugin.

I only want what category_in is supposed to return..those above with Filed under : About, not the child categories About Me and About This Site.
Thanks. Love the plugin and make lots of use of it, but don’t understand what I’m getting wrong here.
I want a horizontal row of just the featured image of my last four blog posts on my home page. I did not see a horizontal option in tpg-get-posts, so I used a grid plug in to create four columns and put the tpg-get-posts shortcode in each column. As long as I have numberposts=1 in all four columns and no offsets, it looks like it should work. I get the featured image from my latest post in each column. But when I start adding offsets, so that offset=1 in the second column, offset=2 in the third column and offset=3 in the third column, it works fine in the second column … i get the featured image for my next-to-last post. But the third and fourth columns are blank. No image at all.
Any idea what might be going on or if there is an easier way to accomplish what I am trying to do?
Hi
I am using the shortcode [tpg_get_posts cat=”plant” numberposts=100 orderby=”date” show_entire=”true”] but when I add images (via add media) to the post (not featured) they are also showing. Is there any way to just show the text and featured image until the post is clicked and then show all the images as normal?
I tried show_excerpt but that did not work.
Thanks in advance.
I love this plugin, but I’m struggling with how the featured images are presented. Whatever layout option I try, I see the featured image displayed twice!
Here’s the shortcode I’m using:
[tpg_get_posts mag_layout=”true” thumbnail_size=”medium” tag=”Grohe”]
And here’s an example page:
https://www.angilerikitchenandbath.com/layout-testing/
How do I get the featured image to display as a thumbnail just one time instead of twice?
Referring to the following short code:
`
[tpg_get_posts fields=”title,content,byline” title_link=”false” shorten_content=”w400″ cat=”UpFront” numberposts=3 orderby=”date” ul_class=”tpg-ul-class” title_tag=”h2″ post_content=tpg-content-class]
`
The above code works fine. But instead of category (cat) I would like tags (tag). When I change cat to tag and add the correct tag (UpFront) to a post I get no input. I have tried everything please help.
I would like to have my posts ordered by the “Publish” > “Published On” date, and to appear in reverse chronological order with the most resent on the top and the oldes on the bottom. I just added the last parameter below, and it is not working. Can you help?
[tpg_get_posts cat=”In the News” fields=”title, content” shorten_content=”w750″ numberposts=”5″ thumbnail_link=”false” mag_layout=”true” thumbnail_size=”full” show_excerpt=”true” orderby=”date”]
How to use post id in this?
I would like to apply an existing image class (G6) used in the iA3 WordPress theme to the large thumbnails generated by TPG get posts—the small and medium thumbnails are fine as is.
Ideally, I would like the images seen on this page (https://www.idapostle.com/portfolio/) to have the G6 image class applied so they are 1060px wide.
You can see an example of the image class applied to a normal image (not using the TPG get posts plugin) at the top of this page: https://www.idapostle.com/branding-logo-design-rock-band-isobel-trigger/
I have changed the large thumbnail size in Media Settings to 1060px but this does not do the trick.
Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
