Revisiting this after a year.
I’ve added the plugin again and I am still getting the same problem as here.
I add an image to a tweet, publish it and Tweetbot tells me there is an issue publishing the tweet. The tweet is saved to drafts.
Go to my blog and the image is posted https://michaelrawlins.co.uk/2014/01/52da21aa8023c/ but the post doesn’t get publicised.
So in short it works apart from the fundamental bit, actually tweeting.
Any ideas?
]]>Is this plugin still being maintained? I am receiving an error when trying to post using Tweetbot. I have followed all instructions as best as I can tell. I am using WP3.8 and yourls, as well as Tweetbot.
ERROR trying to upload media
Try again later.
Any help is appreciated.

I’ve only just started using the ‘Tweet Images’ plugin, and although I really like it, and I love the concept of directing Twitter traffic to my own site to view pictures, rather than to a third party host such as Yfrog or Lockerz, I am having an issue with pictures which I have taken on my iPhone in portrait – that is to say, with the ‘phone standing up, not lengthwise – appearing sideways on the resultant WordPress post.
Here is an example of what I mean: https://www.manek.org.uk/5172c8da6856d/
I was not lying down on my back when I took this picture! It appears the right way ’round on my phone, but not on WordPress.
Any ideas of how to combat this? I don’t want to have to stop using the plugin and look for alternatives so soon, but I also don’t want to have to take every picture I Tweet landscape, just because of this problem!
For anybody wondering, I am posting these pictures through TweetBot (which is my favoured Twitter client for iPhone anyway) using the ‘Custom’ image host settings, as laid out in the manual for using this plugin.
]]>Hello there,
I would really like to know how I can change the fact that clicking on the image means seeing the full image. Instead, I want the photo to link to the post.
Thanks in advance! Sebastian
]]>Hey Simon,
Nice simple plugin, when I post from TweetBot it reports that there has been an issue publishing and that the post has been saved to drafts.
Yet when I look at the blog the post has been published.
Is TweetBot expecting something back from the blog to let it know that publishing has been successful?
Also, is it possible to use the Yourls plugin for softening rather than bit.ly?
Cheers
]]>Hi I installed Tweet Images and everything worked fine for a few days but now when I use Tweetbot I can’t get Bitly to shorten links for images (fine for other links) and the Hashtag for my category does not post either.
I’m using a plugin to stop my category posting onto front page of blog and have turned this on and off to see if this is causing the problem but makes no difference. Also tried re installing and again it still refuses to work.
Any advise?
Cheers,
Simon
Great plug-in!
I was hoping this would also support making WordPress a Twitter Media Endpoint meaning that the media URL returned would be included in the subsequent Tweet so the uploaded picture can be viewed within Twitter.com and Twitter clients, rather than needing to click the Permalink to view the picture on the blog. Anyone tweaked the plug-in to support this? Would be an awesome enhancement!
]]>Hello,
I would like to know how I can automatically add an image inside my post to twitter.
I am using an auto-tweet plugin, so every time a publish a post, a tweet gets send to twitter containing the title of the post. Most of these posts contain images, so what I want is when the tweet gets sent to twitter, the image is sent as well.
I hope I made my self clear. If not, I will try to explain myself better.
]]>Just wondering how I make the image I tweet be marked as a featured image as well?
Any chance of this happening? Don’t know much about PHP at the moment.
Thanks!
JB
]]>I’m using the Tweetings iPhone app which supports TwitPic or yFrog style responses over oAuth Echo. I managed to edit the plugin to supply the correct response but it doesn’t look like this plugin supports oAuth Echo and I don’t have any idea how to add it. Is there any chance that oAuth Echo support will be built into the plugin?
I’ve built my TwitPic replacement around this plugin and would really like to continue with it.
Thanks for the great plugin!

]]>Hiya ??
Can someone confirm – Is this plugin still compatible with twitter? Desperately trying to get it working to no avail – keep getting “upload failed – a network or server error caused the media upload to fail” from Tweetbot, tweetings, and twitterrific. Cant use the Official iPhone Twitter app as they seem to have disabled custom media provider.
Have permalinks set to /%year%/%monthnum%/%postname%/ and have tried all others too.
Have also tried adding new user to no avail.
I am really excited by this plugin as I have always been searching for how Stephen Fry et al do it!
Thank you so much for any assistance.
]]>Hello,
The plug-in works and I think its awesome. Only one thing isn’t working correctly. The updates done by this plug-in don’t show up in my blog. They are only visible trough the permalink of the post.
I’ve checked category settings and all. Don’t see anything wrong there. And.. if I update a post in the admin panel by only selecting the text box and clicking “Save” the post does show up on my front page and in the category, archive, etc..
What could be wrong?
]]>I’m using this plugin with great success but i’ve been trying to figure out if i can include an anchor to the post title in the URL so that when a twitter user clicks the link, they see the picture and not the whole top half of the blog.
I started trying to find some other plugins which can do this by default but so far no luck.
]]>I installed Tweet Images last night and copied the API address into the custom settings for Twitter for iPhone, but when I try to tweet an image I get an error uploading the attachment. (error:not found)
I have regenerated my API address to try a new one and still no luck. I have also deactivated any other plugins making sure they are not affecting Tweet Images.
Any help would be awesome, thanks!
]]>Just trying out Tweet Images. I’ve noticed the the images are posted as wordpress posts with a random(?) slug name. Is there anyway to change this so that the slug is based on the post name? That way, the link to the image can be
domain.com/picture-of-cat
rather than the less meaningful
domain.com/893a26d458726
Thanks
Ash
Hi Simon
First of all, thank you for developing this plugin !
I’ve been looking for this quite some time now, but could not find a solution for my problem. I was looking for the same option, to post a tweet to my blog (nothing special there) that included an image. Twitter Tools is great for doing all sorts of stuff, but it can not post Tweets to my blog AND show an image at the same time.
However, as you have tried your plugin from an Iphone (and it works obviously :)) you might not have been able to test it on an Android device I assume ? So I decided to do that myself.. Unfortunately, the current Twitter clients (Twydroid, Tweetcaster, Plume) for Android do not support defining custom (image) services (like on the Iphone). So right now I’m stuck…(:(
Any ideas ?
Keep up the great work ! And….once again thank you for venturing where no Twitter client has gone before..;)
Kind Regards,
Edwin
