In the last 2 weeks I have received notices from a couple of my sites When I try to Tweet posts automatically after writing them..
Error in WordPress
{“errors”:[{“code”:226,”message”:”This request looks like it might be automated. To protect our users from spam and other malicious activity, we can’t complete this action right now. Please try again later.”}]}
The plugin also kicks back Oauth errors
Additionally I have been getting EMail Notices from Twitter.. We have locked your account for terms violations.. automated tweets.
Just a heads up.
Seems pretty lame for people like me that use twitter as a business resource in some accounts and have a personal account for socializing..
I thought Twitter was trying to attract business.
but i guess too many kids are out there abusing the system.
]]>I am trying to setup Tweetable for my wordpress site. I make it through steps 1-3 just fine, but I am getting stuck on Step 4.
I click the button “sign in with twitter” but I never get redirected to Twitter to authorize the app. In multiple browsers it looks like it’s thinking for a bit, and then it stays put.
I have tried to restart the setup process but that doesn’t help. I’m wondering if there is an issue in the registration process in Step 1. I fill out all of the proper info but I always get the error “Validation failed: Not a valid URL format”
Any idea what I’m doing wrong? Is it step 1, step 4?
Thanks!
]]>I have used Tweetable in the past with no problems. I just tried to install it with a WordPress 3.9 site and it never appears on the admin menu.
The installation appeared to work, but there may be a compatibility problem with the 3.9 menu.

I went through all the steps to load this plug in and while it works, it doesn’t show the avatars for each tweet/retweet. I want the avatars to show. What do I need to do?
]]>Hi,
I have been using tweetable on two websites. On one website it’s working perfectly fine but not on the other one. Some times I got a 502 message just after the tweet which takes place instead of the link to my article.
Sometimes it works perfectly fine and sometimes I have this error. Do you know why and how to correct it ?

To all those wanting Hashtag support with your automatic tweets, drop me an email and I will send you the code.
To the authors, drop me an email and I will do the same so you can implement it into the next version

]]>First of all, thanks for the great plugin!
What I’d like to have it do, is auto-tweet the excerpt (until 140 char.) instead of the title, as the titles are very short. Is this possible?
Other question: can I exclude a single post from being tweeted? I didn’t see an option on my posts admin page. I could do it by unchecking the ‘auto-tweet’ from the Tweetable settings.
]]>Hey,
I use google chrome and a https connection for my backend. Everytime the browser tells me there are some “unsecure” connections in javascript, which won’t load until I load them anyway manually (but this only for the current tab and current session).
There’s no way like in firefox to save this option.
In the javascript console there’s a hint at the twitter plugin, which tries to load the loading-animation and other ressources through a “unsecure” connection (https://mysite) instead auf through ssl/https.
[blocked] The page at https://*mysite*/wp-admin/ ran insecure content from https://*mysite*/wp-content/plugins/tweetable/admin_css.css?ver=3.4.2.
[blocked] The page at https://*mysite*/wp-admin/ ran insecure content from https://*mysite*/wp-content/plugins/tweetable/admin_scripts.js?ver=3.4.2.
The page at https://*mysite*/wp-admin displayed insecure content from https://*mysite*wp-content/plugins/tweetable/images/page_link.png.
The page at https://*mysite*/wp-admin displayed insecure content from https://*mysite*wp-content/plugins/tweetable/images/loading.gif.
Until I load it manually I can’t use the twitterbox in dashboard, it won’t send any data to twitter.
After reload with ignoring the unsecure connections it sends the tweets right, but the loading-animation won’t stop. I reload the dashboard myself after that and everything is okay.
Is there anything you can do to help?
I don’t want to change any code by myself to fix this.
Other plugins work with ssl withouth problems. ??
I am looking to change the current twitter plugin on a client web site, and need a long-term solution that works with the new Twitter API since the old one deprecates come March, 2013.
Does your Twitter plugin currently work with the new API or are you working on updating this before March?
]]>For load considerations I would like to turn off the viewing of my own and follower’s tweets from within wordpress.
I do not need to see these tweets and it is just added load on my server and space in my DB…
I would rather not hack at the code and providing the option to turn this off would be a value to a lot of people
I have seen people say that load has taken down sites.. not sure they meant what I am requesting but I definitely can do without extra load and transfer…
Thanks
]]>Thanks for this plugin. A few questions:
1. Is it possible to change the format of the tweet date displayed in the widget? (e.g., instead of Friday, 10.19.12 16:13, something like Oct 19, 2012 4:13pm or 4 hours ago)
2. Also, is it possible to exclude @ replies and retweets in the list of tweets displayed in the widget?
3. (related to 2) if Auto-Tweet Posts is enabled, can tweets with the “Auto-Tweet Posts Prefix” string be excluded? This way the website wouldn’t list tweets generated by itself whenever a new post is published.
Any suggestions are much appreciated,
]]>This plugin was working great, now I am getting the error:

“
Whoa there!
There is no request token for this page. That’s the special key we need from applications asking to use your Twitter account. Please go back to the site or application that sent you here and try again; it was probably just a mistake.”
Appreciate guidance
Thanks in advance

The current version of this plugin, as well as previous versions, doesnt gracefully handle twitter capacity problems (the whale) or outages (no response at all, as happening right now: see https://mashable.com/2012/06/21/twitter-down-june-2012/)
In the former case (whale): when placed inside a widget, simply break the output, resulting in a widget with a broken layout (no bottom part). Instead it should show something like “twitter is having problems. please check back later.”
Worse, the latter case (outage): halt the front facing section of wordpress completely with an error 500.
There has got to be a way (or plugin) to better handle this situation…
]]>Hi. During installation, I’m not being returned to the site to complete setup with the PIN created by Twitter.
Is there a place where I can manually enter this? I’m not afraid of lifting the hood and getting my hands in the code.
Thanks for the wonderful plugin.

]]>No matter what settings I change the widget only displays 5 tweets. Tried to uninstall and reinstall plugin. Tried to reconfigure user account. Is there a manual way to edit the widget?
]]>I was adding a lot of posts today, and I noticed that it only tweets about posts I make from one certain category.
Example, I make a post in “events” category, it tweets about it. I make a post in the “news” category, it doesn’t send a tweet.
Is there a setting I’m missing somewhere?

tweetable does not tweet posts which are created from within word and inserted into the blog by xml/rpc connection.

Thanks

]]>Hello Matt,
i found a new problem in tweetable. If you write post in word and publish them to wordpress by xml-rpc connection you can send those post to wordpress by concept or by publishing. A friend of mine made 200 post in word and has send them one by one to wordpress by concept.
Now after applying the finishing touch to all these concept posts at the backend of wordpress he starts publishing. But they do not goto twitter by the tweetable plugin. However if he creates a new post at the backend of wordpress and press publishing they go immediattely to twitter and are visible.
So what is the difference to a post created by a editor/author in word and send by xml-rpc to wordpress and a post created at the backend by a author/editor or admin?
Can you please help me out on this?
Thank you BackuPs

]]>I am not the developer yet to link to twitter I have to register as such. I filled out the initial screen as instructed but then taken to another screen with essentially the same info. This is not how a plugin setup should work. The plugin developer is the developer not the wp user of the plugin. Why don’t you get a dev ID and that is registered with the plugin. Maybe Twitter changed their api. It is beta after all. Anyway I don’t know how to get this working. Too many undocumented steps.
