This is a great little plugin, on it’s own it shows the twitter feed of a hash tag…
However, it is so well written and made that you can see clearly what the code is doing and learn from it. You can make your own simple plugin/widgets in no time.
This is not an end all be all solution. But an absolutely perfect starting point.
Thanks for making this!

You have to know how to get Twitter app credentials to use this plugin. Once you do that, it works fine. See the instructions here: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-twitter-feeds/faq/

Doesn’t scroll, no profile picture, very few options, no instructions.

Might be the best plugin in the world – ever – but without set up instructions on how to get:
Twitter Consumer Key:
Twitter Consumer Secret:
Twitter OAuth Access Token:
Twitter OAuth Access Token Secret:
…then it won’t work. There is a forum here and you can see some peeps have asked for assistance but – nothing forthcoming. It’s a shame as some ppl obvi have got it working.

Well done! This plugin worked flawlessly, but I agree with Jon Brown and the average person won’t be able to figure out where to even go at Twitter, much less how to get the tokens. A simple config page or at even a link in the widget setup to some instructions would go a long way for less savvy users. Add some sizable avatar choices and some simple instructions for a 5 star rating…

Works even with the new Twitter API. The only thing I’d like in addition is the option to show user avatars.

Near perfect fit for what I was looking for.
Setup was easy, because I already had the twitter app as I tested a different twitter plugin first. Got that plugin working (not as quick as this one I might add), but I really missed the feed of a specific hashtag functionality. So my search continued. Found this one… and got it working within seconds.
Like I said, it’s near perfect. Only thing I’m missing it a shortcode implementation so I can use this widget on pages and posts (in my case on the static homepage, next to the regular news items). With the shortcode it be a 5 star rating for sure.
Oh, some examples on CSS styling would be nice too… Just to make it easier to customize the look. I’m not a programmer, but I am a trial and error expert ??
