Motivated by our love to twitter and its analytics we have launched a tool to complement this plugin. https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/ki-twitter-analytics/

I agree with others. I checked the Wiki and I am still baffled on how to include a simple timeline. You would think it’d be just as easy as embedding their code.
Uninstalling in 3, 2…
Update: This is what you are looking for:

JUNK. It doesn’t work. Can’t save after adding as a widget. If I have to spend more than 10 minutes setting up the basics for a Widget, it gets canned.

I use this to add recent tweets (with images) in the sidebar. It works well.

there are two type of twitter card: summary_large_image and summary

if you need change to large image, you need add below code to twitter.php manually, not in the admin panel:
function twitter_card_type( $card_type, $query_type, $object_id )
{
return 'summary_large_image';
}
add_filter('twitter_card_type', 'twitter_card_type', 10, 3);

I am going to vote 1 star, not good plugin, really wast time.

This official plugin from twitter only allows you to add 3 meta tags to your WP post:
twitter:site (your twitter username)
twitter:title (title of WP post)
twitter:description (first 140-280 chars of the WP post)
The plugin does not generate twitter:image. So when the URL for your WP post is tweeted, I assume an image is not included in the tweet. I did not actually test this on my production website, but I could see there was no twitter:image element in the WP rendering of the localhost post.

Couldn’t find any instructions. Gave up after a while.

Similar to the standard native Twitter embeds, but with more options. Can be used in a widget in several ways, including twitter list, twitter profile and twitter follow button. There’s also a separate option to add it to every post. No token needed, unlike some other WordPress Twitter plugins, so you can use any twitter feed(s). My only complaint is that I had difficulty customising the link colours.

Not Working
Total wast of time.

If you can collect all functions in a widget, it will be the best plugin for twitter. Thanks.

Difficult to work with, limited options, in general, a disappointment. No option to adjust the number of tweets displayed, also couldn’t use CSS override the font size in the header. Basic stuff.
I expected more from the “official” Twitter plugin, but this is not user-friendly at all.

needs more control/ flexibility over the pages that this appears on, its just a blanket install on every page. makes it pretty pointless for any site more than just a blog
reverting to the standard theme version

Did I miss something? Not according to the installation instructions. Installed, entered twitter name and there is no widget in the widget area other than a button. Where is the twitter feed option?

Frustrating to waste time on this.

I have used this plug-in, but the 1.4 version requires php5.4, which is not available for my CentOS distribution.
Rating: 1 star
PHP 5.5
Installed looking for customization for Twitter cards etc, found one page of very basic settings relating to position/color of button.
Very little appearing on post edit pages for creation of Twitter cards, only title and description.
Uninstalled.
Pointless which basically does nothing more than add a tweet button.

I love this plugin it help in my social network.

This plugin is not useful for developers because customization is very limited. This plugin is likely to be a time drain for most developers who try it out. It’s possible the plugin could be useful for some site owners who aren’t picky about fonts, etc.

This is not much use when developing WordPress sites for customers with their own hosting as they rarely have the latest PHP version or the ability to update it. The code may be beautiful, but not supporting PHP versions commonly available in shared hosting environments is a cop out.

It’s very good choice! thanks to this plugin, I’m still in touch with my followers and readers on my blog! I would like to really thanks for developers! Thanks guys, you’ll do good work!

I have added the twitter follow button 5 times to the footer widget of my theme, both using the widgets view and appearance view, and this is the only widget that doesn’t “stick” when saved. When returning to manage widgets, this one always drops off. The follow button is the main reason why I wanted this.
I’m deactivating it.

If more plugins were coded like this, I would be a very happy man.
The code is solid, is mostly covered by unit tests and not built with ancient PHP versions in mind.
Wonderful! We need more plugins like this.

This plugin requires PHP 5.4.
Rating: 5 stars
Does pretty much what it says on the tin, however, note that you do need a host running a more recent version of PHP to use it. If you don’t have PHP 5.4 or higher, the plugin will do nothing.
It doesn’t actually provide a mechanism to auto-tweet your posts for you. For that, I recommend the Jetpack functionality, which works quite well. This is an understandable missing-component from the plugin, for various technical reasons.
But for all the most recent “widget” type of functionality from Twitter, this pretty much covers the gamut. It also has some of the new advertising and tracking functionality of Twitter, if you’re into that sort of thing.
Good plugin, good code, solid backend.

Hi, I like the concept behind the plugin; but, the issue I found is that twitter cards are showing on every page. I looked for a way to customize the page display; but, the plugin does not have this functionality. For themes that consist of only one page the plugin would not be suitable. I would give five stars If the plugin allows me to customize which pages are going to display twitter cards. A nice way to handle it would be to divide it into homepage, pages, and blog selection.
Thank you.

I added this plugin to my site and looked literally EVERYWHERE and could not find the ability to customize it. I shut it down.

Installed this plug-in and it froze me out of my WP site. I couldn’t log in, so couldn’t then disable it. 1 star is too generous.
