Excellent plugin, works greatly like a charm.

Please look elsewhere if you want a plugin that sends one-time passcodes via email. I originally purchased this plugin to send a one-time password to my class subscribers via email whenever they attempt to log in to their WooCommerce account. Only after I bought the plugin did I realize that my customers would need to install a third-party app for this plugin to work.
I don’t want to inconvenience customers by requiring them to install another app to have a code sent to them, so this plugin isn’t usable for me. The author of the plugin was responsive when I contacted them for support. Still, I recommend adding a statement about not being able to send one-time passcodes via email on the plugin’s landing page.

So, I ordered Simbas’ 2FAplugin for my website. However, when I tried to install it, I got locked out. Not that I even knew what I was doing when I set it up. I contacted Simba and I was told they would work with me, but they needed cpanel access to my account. My hosting account didn’t come with it. My first thought was to just give up, but my Simba rep David kept after me to follow through, even after a dozen e-mails back and forth with half as many failures. So, I upgraded my account and got cpanel along with some other useful feature and comme par magie, Simba had the 2FA working on my website. These guys are definnitely getting a Christmas card from me.

While the plugin is well written, it follows a recent trend that is a massive turnoff. The features most needed are only available in the paid version. The free version doesn’t allow the admin to make using this plugin compulsory, which means it’s useless. While I greatly appreciate the amount of effort involved in coding (been coding for over 40 years, myself), charging $20+ annually PER site is entirely unrealistic. Add the sheer number of plugins a typical WP site uses, multiply that by the number of sites many web admins are responsible for, and it’s simply too expensive for what I’m getting. We all want to live in mansions, but let’s get real. I pay $100 annually for my Office 365 Family, and six of us gets the full suite of products PLUS each of us gets a terabyte of cloud storage.
I’ll be using a different plugin on my sites.

Payed only?
Not ready for PHP-8 ?
Asking for server features not being available?

Does the job without any troubles. Works with Google Authenticator and the Microsoft Authenticator as well.
I also recommend the plugins big brother: “UpdraftPlus – Safe & restore”

I have used this product on a dozen websites I have built and have had very positive results without exception. The plugin is updated and maintained regularly for years now and works with a variety of Authenticator apps.
Over time it has become a go to plugin for my 2FA needs because it is simple to install and configure, and highly effective at implementing 2FA with a variety of options.
Great product, Highly recommended!

In the trial version I tried to make a specific user role to be requested (not forced) to setup his authenticator APP (i.e. FreeOTP), but it did not work at all as the plugin did not exist at all. At least it did not do any damage. It was a pity since this plugin was promising.
UPDATE: After activating the plugin and put the shortcode [twofactor_user_settings] in the front end of the website (in an Elementor block), after a while a long text appeared in the front-end where it should have been, but it did not recognize a the password of test-user I was testing.
Overall, it seems to me too difficult to make it working, and it is a pity since this plugin apperared to be promising as others as well. I gave up.
So far, I got something working only from “miniorange 2 factor authentication”. Sometimes, while testing different plugins of this kind, I even ended locked out my website with no chance to log in again. Luckly I was doing all testing on a staging website and I do recommend doing the same with these dangerous plugins (they either do not work at all – as this one – or lock you out). For the paid version of this type of plugin, I also do recommend to get a full try-before-buy testing, otherwise do forget about them.

First step goes already wrong.
Google Authenticator says “Invalid Barcode” when trying to enable the 2FA.

Install, activate and setup all were easy. We used Google Authenticator and this works well. The number of failed hacker login attempts has decreased dramatically.

If I had one complaint, it’s the use of a top-level menu item for the user settings. Should be on the user page or somewhere else, it doesn’t warrant a top-level menu. But it’s not worth removing a star for.

Thank you for the great plugin. I also used the premium version, which is also great.

Had an urgent issue – support got in touch immediately and resolved it. Great low impact plugin and great support. Thank you.

I rarely leave reviews but this plugin deserves it. I needed the ability to have the 2FA settings all done by the user on the FRONT END and not in the User Profile.
This plugin does it and does it really really well.
So good, I paid for it!
Well done guys.

I purchased the premium version of this plugin on 28 December. I bought 5 licenses. I raised a support ticket to get help implementing in a custom form.
First David told me they cannot send me email, which is total non-sense, I received all other communication from them.
When I submitted a review here, they contacted me, but also removed my review here ?
This is David’s response: “Unfortunately, there is no one-size-fits-all answer to this question. Each different implementation of a login form has to be looked at individually. If you are interested in commission this work on a commercial basis, please let us know, and we can send you a quote.”
So you pay, then you have to pay more (not even sure how much they will try to extort from you). A custom login form implementation is NOT a unique situation. In fact, it’s very common.
There is ZERO documentation around this plugin, nothing. All that is needed here are the hooks and actions they use, simple, but it seems this is a strategy to make more money from people. SHAMEFUL. ABSOLUTELY SHAMEFUL.
I am convinced all the positive reviews here are fake, or posted by the company.
Stay away from this plugin and these authors.

It helps so much to prevent unauthorized people gaining access. We had bad experience with plain login so far so this is great solution for us.

This plugin is awesome. Works great. I have multiple servers running my WordPress install and there is no interference.
A feature request though: I have a *ton* of custom roles, and it is very cumbersome to need to click on each role to deselect them on the settings page. A select all/none would be fabulous. This is compounded on the paid version of the plugin, where there are more settings. Still, a great plugin.

I have been trying all 2fa solutions in the past week. Only to stumble upon this fantastic plugin!
My issue with ALL other plugins is that they _always_ show an 2FA field. This is completely unnecesarry in my opinion. Only admin and editor account need 2FA.
This plugin has an second step for woocommerce logins which only asks and shows the 2fa key field if necessary.
Two huge thumbs up!

Simple, does what it says. Love this plugin. Using with Authy.

Does what it says and does it well. Support is great and any problems that arise are quickly solved. Works with Theme My Login. The free version lacks backup codes, which should be included in my opinion, but there is the option of turning off TFA via code if you’re locked out. The premium version does offer backup codes and has some other nice features – might upgrade later.

An excellent plug-in that is reliable just works as it should. I’ve also received an excellent response for a support query I raised (although the issue ended up not being with this plug-in).
Thanks guys.

I’ve used the plugin for a long time and have found no problem. It works just perfectly. So I have never had a chance to ask for support, thus, don’t know how support is.
Would be better if there is a way for users to login in case they lose access to their phone.

Thank you for your work!

I am super-impressed by this plugin and the team behind it.
– It provides a key extra layer of security for my website i.e two factor authentication (2FA) that works easily with the Authy Android app.
– It’s very easy to set up and use for all of the registered users of my blog.
– As a site admin, I have the option to make it available to any user of the blog so that they can turn on 2FA too.
– Above all, I got awesome, prompt and patient support when I ran into a problem using the software. The support agent (one of the plugin’s authors) stuck with me through many stages of troubleshooting, investigation and bug-tracking until we finally found what the problem was. And all of that happened even though I wasn’t a paid/premium user!
So don’t think twice about it. This is the 2FA solution you need mate!
PS: If you want to see the problem I referred to above, check out this link.

You would have to be a full not to use 2FA and this one is GREAT!
I have been using the Plugin for a long time. First they are constantly updating the plugin, which tells me the have not forgot about it. Keep in mind that technology changes and you need your plug-ins to change as well. 2FA may be the only defense against hackers and you DO NOT want any of your plug-ins out of date, but your 2FA has to be up to date.
Second the support is amazing. I recently updated to PHP 7.2 and was concerned about a false positive I was getting on a test. I got a response in 30 minutes, and was assured there would be on issues and when I updated there were NO issues. THANK YOU DAVID!
In short, if you want the best, and not worry about any problems GET THIS PLUG-In and you will sleep better.
