Currently we optimizing our website for performance, Also we are using this “Termly” plugin from past two quarters and because of this plugin our website get degraded drastically while considering website’s performance.
While we have this plugin activated, we got the scoring between 37-43.
But once we deactivate the plugin, we are getting the score between 70-74
Note: We had verified this with Google’s Pagespeed Insights

This plugin was a very simple, basic plugin doing 1 job and 1 job only. You installed it you knew what you were getting. Now it requires an account on a private company’s API. 0 features without an account.

They just want to pay. I have 500 visitors a day and they send me message I have reach 9000 a I have to pay.

This dreadful plugin has enabled a bot in robots.txt file. It’s only by searching for the user agent name that I found out in a WordPress thread that this could be the culprit. Take my advice, delete the files in the database and use another Cookie plugin.

Used to work but today I had discovered that is not anymore and demands API key and payment.

This plugin apparently stopped working months ago – which is bad. But worse – we don’t recall seeing any warning or communication. For months we were relying on a plugin that turned itself off. And of course – we don’t notice because we are not new users. The new free version doesn’t meet our needs and is convoluted – so we have to select and install an alternative.

This plugin amends robots.txt without permission to allow a scraper full access to the site. There is no legitimate reason for this.
See the file uk-cookie-consent/includes/controllers/class-robots-txt.php included in the plugin.

It’s too complicated and I don’t like I need to sign up for a plugin.

Used to be simple and great. Now you need to register and it’s a totally different plugin. It’s a real shame. I feel ripped off after updating.

… every time I refresh the page. Stupid plugin!

…anymore.
Without notification about substantial changes.

Este complemento se ha convertido en algo rídículo. Era uno de los mejores, de repente cambia en un servicio con cuenta obligatoria y límites que antes no existían. Es respetable que el creador quiera crecer, pero esto ya no es lo que era.

Plugin stopped to work without any notification.

Installed some moons ago and it just worked. Then all of a sudden it updated, became a completely different plugin with no warning, all of my settings have vanished and I’m effectively GDPR non-compliant until I sign up to a third party site, pay a fee and reconfigure everything.
Erm… no. Bye-bye.

Not recommend.

Was unable to find familiar settings for the free plugin, instead discovered ‘Termly’.
Something that was free and working fine was all of a sudden gone and replaced by something .. I have to invest time in to set up, and if I want to get rid of branding, pay for.
I accidentally found cookie consent wasn’t running. So, this whole way of don=ing business sucks. Uninstalled plugin, bye bye, till never again.

Looks like we will be ditching this plugin for good!

So, devs decided to ruin everyones’ website by changing the way the plugin works. This is a real disaster and a really bad business practice. I am removing this plugin from all my websites for good. Hope it will be removed from WP repo.

Used to be a free GDPR banner plugin. Updated to paid subscription with no warning… Sad to see. Not the first app that’s been bought out recently and switched to a paid model without a second thought for its old userbase.
How about a grace period… then rather than an annoyed angry user of the old plugin, I might actually consider upgrading…
Just make a new listing and stop support for the old app… jeeze…

Had to remove it from a client site when new version 3.0 broke the plugin and started requiring an account on a third-party website.

Simple and free plugin was converted to unusable and expensive commercial product.

Unfortunately I can’t give 0 star.
They updated without warning, removing all existing functionality and disabled all active consent banners on all sites the plugin was installed. So all sites have become non-compliant overnight.

…and I switched to a free alternative.

Everything has already been said. We need no business sharks in the WordPress echosystem at all.

A joke from the users.

Absolutely disgusting. They stopped the existing functionality with a new version, probably making my site non-compliant. Knowing that they have done this, I have no intention of seeing what functionality the new version contains since I would always be asking what awful thing they will do in the future.

For a company that boasts that they “work around the clock to ensure you don’t have to worry about remaining compliant”, they pushed an update without warning that removed all existing functionality and disabled all active consent banners on all sites the plugin was installed.
This essentially made all sites with this plugin non-compliant overnight.
Now they want you to pay $15 a month to retain the functionality that you had with the previous free plugin.
With the new update, you have lost the ability to:
* customise the text on the banner
* alter any text to be different than their preset English (which does NOT MAKE SENSE for a GDPR plugin targeting any EU country)
What an absolutely horrible position to put website owners and small business owners in!
Thankfully, there are other, free GDPR plugins available that readily provide all functionality that Termly is now asking money for.
So I recommend anyone reading this to switch over and not pay to Termly for this blatant disregard for their users’ privacy law compliance.

Have been using this since the advent of GDPR but now uninstalled as I won’t be blackmailed by the new owners. WordPress should remove all the reviews prior to the takeover by Termly as it is now a very different product.

Replaced by a totally different plugin in the last upgrade. Had to replace the plugin on many sites.
