When exporting my custom content type, select just that content for export, none of the attachment urls are in the export xml. There should be roughly 500 and all I get is 31. It’s the attachment part that doesn’t seem to work.

I want to export a custom post type and all related content from one site (about 65 posts for that particular custom post type), then import them into another site as the same custom post type. The original custom posts were built into a template.

The plugin homepage says this supports export and import but I don’t see any link to export. I see the import field under custom posts.

1) How do I export my custom post types? Does this support custom post types that were built into a template rather than plugin?
2) How do I import the custom post type AND all of the posts?

Hi!

I’ve spent two days searching for this bug: the Ultimate Post Type manager breaks bbPress 2 functionality.

I have a WordPress 3.3.1 + BuddyPress 1.5.5 + bbPress 2.1-rc setup, when this plugin activates, the forums page shows up for the first load and shows “Page not found” for all future loads.

Ultimate CMS however seems working fine with the same config.

We have two custom types on GamerPops.com, reviews and videos. Reviews are working perfectly, but for some reason since we changed up our theme, our videos are now there, but when you open a post, the_content() is not pulling the post, so you get the template and a title, but not the body of the post. Other than custom fields, the setup for both custom post types is exactly the same.

Hi, great plugin, for me it is the best.
I have a question:
I have created a custom post type called “hotels”, and some custom fields, among which the field type “gallery”.

But when I add a gallery I have sliding photos whose links are the same page where the galley is. Is there a way to delete that link or to link it to the original size of the image?

Ultimate Post Type Manager did clash with Add Link to Facebook because both plugins were using __autoload (report).

I have fixed this for Add Link to Facebook, but Ultimate Post Type Manager should be fixed in a similar way to prevent clashes with other plugins.

running version 1.6.9 of your plugin
when no custom post types are defined gives:

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in …\www\httpdocs\wp\wp-content\plugins\ultimate-post-type-manager\index.php on line 381

and a very simple fix to that is on line 381 where it says
foreach($cpts as $cpt)
it should be
foreach((array)$cpts as $cpt)

or you can check the count of $cpts before calling the foreach and if its 0 then skip it.

I am using the plugin and I have an image custom field set up. When I upload an image, I get the typical window to select the image and then insert into post. But when I click ‘insert into post’, the window goes blank. When I close the window, no image has been inserted.

The image was uploaded to the media gallery, just not inserted into post.

Any idea what is going on? Thanks.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Activate Ultimate Post Type Manager version 1.6.9
2. Visit your user profile and remove tick for “Disable the visual editor when writing”
3. Edit a post or page (not a CPT)
4. Click on the full screen button to activate distraction free writing mode, DFW (HTML or Visual editor does not matter here)
5. Leave your mouse pointer untouched for a few seconds

Expected result: The toolbar and the text box borders disappear, leaving only the text itself visible. Able to write new text. Able to save the text as soon as your mouse is touched again.

This happens: The toolbar is still visible. The box borders disappear as usual. The title field has the grey text “Enter title here” overlayed your actual title (ugly). Not able to save the content. When leaving DFW mode the edited text is gone.

When this plugin is deactivated, or when “Disable the visual editor when writing” is ticked, DFW mode appears as expected. On CPT editing, there are never any problem using DFW (only for “builtin” content types as posts and pages).

Please fix!

Its a very nice plugin. But i have a problem with page templates.
The description says: The users can now define the default template to be used for display of a Custom Post Type’s Post. This can be done from Custom Post Type Create/Edit Page

But i cannot find this option anywhere. When I create a new post type it by default uses “post” template. And i would need “page” template.

Hi there,
I’m currently using this plugin for a site I have in development.

I have just created my 3rd post type using this plugin, however, I noticed that on all of the post types I have created that the option to add a “Thumbnail” for the post is not available like it is on the default Post post type.

I have Support for Thumbnail set to “True” for each of these post types, and have tried toggling the option a few times, with no luck.

Is there anyone else having this issue, or have a fix available? I’ve checked through the forum with no luck.

Query Custom Fields using meta query

I can’t figure out how to query posts using meta_query when the custom field has been entered using the XYDAC fields interface.

I have a custom field ‘sticky’ which is a checkbox with label ‘Yes’. Someone would check it to ‘stick’ the post to the home page. I’m developing a widget to pull the sticky posts, but I never get any posts. Here is what I was trying:

In the database, when the box is checked, the meta value looks like this: a:1:{s:8:"checkbox";a:2:{s:3:"Yes";s:3:"Yes";s:10:"xydac-null";s:10:"xydac-null";}}

As a test, I created a custom field ‘test’ using the normal wordpress interface for this post type and assigned the value ‘Yes’ and was able to successfully query it using the same query above.

Hi,

Thanks for the great plugin.

I’ve got a problem where the content of the post does not show up at all if any of the options are touched.

If I create a custom post type called “profiles” and click on Add Custom Post Type button, it works perfectly. I can see the new CPT on the menu, enter a title, content and whatever else. It will display on the site as expected.

If I go back to Ultimate Post Type Manager and click Edit under my CPT “profiles” just to change the label, for example, then no content displays on the site. It’s just a title with empty content.

However, the content is clearly there when I go to edit the post itself.

Hey man,

Great plugin, I’ve gotten further down the custom content type road with this plugin that any other I’ve tried so far.

I’ve been poking around trying to figure out why the TinyMCE editor isn’t popping up on around a “richtextarea” field i created. It looks like something’s trying to call your adminscript() function in the richtextarea fieldType class on line 430 of your index.php. It’s a cool way to set it up but I’m not seeing anything getting returned…

Should I be or is this not implemented yet?

I am iterating to echo the contents of Checkboxes custom field. At the end I keep getting a string “xydac-null”. I even did a var_dump and it is physically a string. Any clues?

Also, does anyone know why v 1.5 is not available for download from the other versions page?

Hi,

For some reason, the search stopped working after activating the plugin.

I deactivated and search worked again 9but without the custom-types),

I also tried it with another plugin (custom post type ui) and the search worked just fine.

Any solutions for this plugin ?

SUMMARY
Deactivating and reactivating Ultimate Post Type Manager 1.6.8 may cause custom field data loss if the data was stored using multiple checkboxes for a field.

TO REPRODUCE
1. Create a custom post type “foo” with a custom field attached who has values “A”, “B”, and “C” available as checkboxes.
2. Create a new “foo”, check off “A”, “B”, “C”
3. Save – confirm you see “A”, “B”, “C” checked off.
4. Go to Plugins and deactivate UPTM
5. Enable UPTM
6. Edit the “foo” your created – the fields are no longer checked off

THERE IS NO WORKAROUND – THIS IS A CRITICAL BUG THAT WILL CAUSE YOU TO LOSE DATA WITH NO RECOVERY EXCEPT FROM A DATABASE BACKUP IF YOU HAVE ONE.

I went into the database and examined the wp_postmeta before deactivate/reactivate and after. Here’s before:
a:1:{s:8:”checkbox”;a:2:{s:8:”Outgoing”;s:8:”Outgoing”;s:14:”‘xydac-null'”;s:10:”xydac-null”;}}

After:
a:1:{s:8:”checkbox”;b:0;}

DO NOT DEACTIVATE/REACTIVATE THIS PLUGIN UNTIL THIS HAS BEEN CONFIRMED FIXED BY XYDAC.

XYDAC – I’ll try to help with this but first I have to try to recover as much data as possible from a backup file.

Exporting custom fields (for from test site to live site)

I just used wp’s export content function to move my newly created custom post types + custom fields from my local test install to my online site. When I imported into the live site, all my custom post types came through, but none of my custom fields created did.

Is there an export function for custom fields created in Ultimate Post Type Manager? The standard wp export + import in Tools did not successfully do so.

Bug – Messes up global loop

Worked out that this plugin replaces the ‘global’ loop so it includes ALL Custom Post Types and not just the default ‘post’.

When plugin is active and CPT created with ‘Public’ setting these items will show up on your default homepage feed or anywhere you use the general loop. You need to re-work your query_posts to fix.

I moved to another Custom Post Type UI manager and this did NOT do the same thing so I have had to move away from this plugin which is a shame as I really like the [CONTENT] feature.

If this problem could be fixed or at least optional that would be a good move.
