Reading the reviews and lack of replies in the support form is this plugin working and supported or not?
hello Team,
When I click the register button without filling out the form, the reCAPTCHA validation message appears on the first name and last name fields, which prevents the validation messages for the first name and last name from being displayed
ReCaptcha is not displaying and every page gives me an error that the dependencies are missing.
Handle – um-recaptcha
Source – wp-content/plugins/um-recaptcha/assets/js/um-recaptcha.min.js
Dependencies – jquery, google-recapthca-api-v3
My registration forms are getting incredibly spammed. It worked when I first installed the extension, but within days it stopped working. I disabled all of my caching and security plugins and still received the error.

How to enable protection for posting, or request admin approval for every new post?
Hello,
I use Ultimate Member on WordPress installed on a Plesk server.
When I connect to my site from Plesk, the connection is automatic, and the CAPTCHA from the login window is not valid. I enter my login and password, and it’s ok.
With the Ultimate Member reCAPTCHA extension, is it possible to ignore or not use it when the connection is coming from my Plesk interface?
Thank you in advance for your advice.
Hi, we are using reCaptcha v.3 with Ultimate Member login form.
Seeing some false positives.
Is there a log we can look at for login attempts and scores?
Do you have a recommended score level that we should target? We are just using the default score level (not set) with Ultimate Member
Thanks for any help
Hey there,

Hello,
So I use the Ultimate Member – reCAPTCHA to avoid spam registrations in my Ultimate Member registration form in my site. Unfortunately, its not blocking all the spam registrations. I use reCAPTCHA V2. I had the manual approval turned on so these spam users are not official or activated users so they can’t login or do anything in the site but they still populate entries in the users table in the database and I have to manually remove them.
I had all the credentials double checked and the fact that some of the registration are blocked means the reCAPTCHA API key is working and stuff.
POTENTION CAUSE:
After I submit the registration form, I could see the following error in the browser’s console:
“recaptcha couldn’t find user-provided function: onloadcallback”
TROUBLESHOOTING:
(1) Find any other existing plugin that may use recaptcha.
ACTION: I thoroughly check the site and could confirm that only Ultimate Member is using reCAPTCHA V2
(2) Check browsers
ACTION: Tested Brave, Chrome, MS Edge, and Firefox browser and seeing the same error
(3) Deactivate and Activate Plugin Extension
ACTION: I deactivated and reactivated Ultimate Member – reCAPTCHA plugin last week and could confirm that some spam users passed through upon checking this week
(4) Update Ultimate member
ACTION: I just updated from 2.8.1 to 2.8.3 but I don’t think will fix the error since the details of 2.8.3 does not say anything about related error.
Conclusion:
Ultimate Member is great plugin but I do think this could be a plugin issue.
For now, I am changing to reCAPTCHA – V3 and will monitor the issue.
Hi,
I am having some issues with reCAPTCHA.
I use the reCAPTCHA for UM. And it has been working fine, but now some of the users cannot login.
They get error message. Even if I deactivate reCAPTCHA.
I still get error message;
“reCAPTCHA: it is very likely a bot.”
Hi,
I’ve just read about your very recently updated tutorial about how to enable reCaptcha in Ultimate Member.
Since with reCaptcha v2, I get TONS of spam account registrations from the Ultimate Member creation page, for months now, I thought I could take advantage of these suggestions.
I already applied all the suggestions you guys offered, besides the email validation one which shouldn’t be needed when a captcha is in place, from my point of view.
Anyway… I already again, something I already tried couple of months ago: switch from reCaptcha v2 to reCaptcha v3, expecting it to be a more performant barrier.
Unfortunately, after:
I noticed it would not show up, neither in the register form, nor the password reset page, while it’s set to appear here as well.
Investigation the code, I can see the Captcha JS:

… and the dedicated div in the content:

So I think it just doesn’t control anything, or at least, that the tutorial might miss some details about how to get this to work with the v3.
Of course, I already tested it with the latest version of WordPress, Ultimate Member and UM reCaptcha extension, on standard themes (Twenty Four and Storefront). I get the exact same behavior, on different environment, without any kind of cache.
The captcha shows with v2, definitely not with v3. Under any of the tested setup.
Did I miss something?
Thanks for your help.
Hello, I have Google Recaptcha 3 enabled on our Ultimate Member site and have enabled it on this registration form. However, there is no logo showing that it is active. Problem?
If this is an issue, Could it be that it is because I have used that Recaptcha key/code with the other form software I am using on the site?
Thanks
Hi Everyone,
First time here. How do I get recaptcha to display the image match regardless of a known device? I’m getting tons of attempted registrations to my site from nefarious persons, probably running a bot that simply clicks the box.
Since yesterday I suddenly have several problems with my site:
Everything has worked flawlessly, I normally also use Ultimate Member, but I have temporarily disabled this as well as all plugins.
I also did a test with a different theme to see if the menu is OK. Which is not the case.
Even with all plugins disabled or a different theme, the problem still persists.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thnx.,
Lucas
I suddenly realized that I received a message that Ultimate member needed to be updated, but both before and after installing the update I noticed the problem with the submenu links that are now in the root of the menu. It is possible that Ultimate Member no longer functions and that the underlying submenus have therefore come to the surface. Because Ultimate Member is no longer displayed properly in the menu? But then why doesn’t the menu appear normally when UM is completely disabled?
More importantly: how can this be fixed?
I started by posting this issue in the UM support forum but have since discovered that it is UM recaptcha that is causing the issue and have been advised to post here.
I am currently experiencing an issue with password reset emails not sending out. I am using the UM dashboard to “Send password reset” however after clicking on the link for each member a green box appears which states “Password reset links sent to 0 users.”
I have also tried sending out a password reset using the users profile settings page but an error appears telling me to prove that I am not a robot. No box appears that would allow me to prove that I am not a robot.
The users do not receive the reset emails. Junk / Spam folders have been checked.?
I am using the WP Mail SMTP plugin which is working correctly and test emails are received.
I temporarily disabled the UM recaptcha plugin and the reset emails sent successfully and were received by the user.
i have since reactivated the plugin and disabled the ‘Enable Google reCAPTCHA on wp-login.php lost password form’ setting which has worked but this isn’t ideal and I would prefer to have this option ticked but the system doesnt work with it on.
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.
Today on all my sites, the panel was suddenly blocked.
Before knowing that this UM-reCAPTCHA area exists, I posted a thread in the UM support forum. To avoid unnecessary duplication, I hope devs will look there to see the problem and then help with the issue here.
Thank you!

Hi,
on the page of one of my clients, the Google-Recaptcha is not displayed and the following error is shown in the browser console:
“Uncaught ReferenceError: grecaptcha is not defined”
When filling out the registration form, the captcha is not displayed, so it cannot be “filled in”, which of course leads to an error message about the captcha not being filled in.
See:

Do you have any ideas how to fix this?

I recently moved my wordpress site to a new server. I installed ultimate member and recaptcha on the new site and just put the keys from the old site in the new one. When I enable recaptcha i get the message to “Please confirm you are not a robot” but nothing appears for me to select any images. I have to leave it disabled in my wordpress site so that users can still use it, so the link to the page I need help with isn’t going to show it now.
The issue occurs no matter where I enable recaptcha: Login, password reset etc. I’ve tried creating new keys and even using version 3, but get the same result.
Version info:| ultimate-member | active | none | 2.6.10 |
| um-recaptcha | active | none | 2.3.3
WordPress version: 6.3
I am experiencing an issue on a website i assist with, there are custom fields which have been created using ultimate member. Last week we activated reCAPTCHA in order to prevent bot registrations on the site, but ever since then if a user or even any admin tried to update the custom meta fields, nothing happens. fields do not update, changes to fields are not kept. We have already tried the cache route to no success. If i disable reCAPTCHA then everything works again as it should
The plugin extension Ultimate Member – reCAPTCHA does not want to work. Specified to be displayed everywhere, but nowhere is displayed. Site keys and secret key are provided. Captcha version 3.
if you specify v2 in the settings, then the captcha is displayed with an error: “ERROR for site owner: Invalid key type“. And it is also displayed in other forms, although the settings do not indicate that it should be displayed on the login page. version 3 is not displayed. keys are correct
Is it possible to make some field in the form to protect against spam registrations? tired of bots

Hi
As you may know, Google.com is not accessible in some parts of the world. Therefore, according to Google documentation, it is recommended to use recaptcha.net for such cases.
Could you please provide an option to switch to recaptcha.net, either through a snippet like Contact Form 7, or through menu selection, so that we don’t have to edit original files manually? Thank you very much!

Just went to this URL: admin.php?page=um_options&tab=extensions to setup V2 keys and got below error:

I am facing a problem that has been reported before on this forum, but the solutions that are posted do not solve the problem for me.

Hello all. I am having an issue with Ultimate Member Recaptcha not loading the v3 site key into the api.js file thus preventing users from logging into the site. I have created a new site key and secret key and copied them into the settings, however when the page loads I still get an “Uncaught Error: Missing required parameters: sitekey” error. When I attempt to submit the form, I then get a “Uncaught Error: Invalid site key or not loaded in api.js: <my site key>”. Using the page inspect tool, I can see that the error is in the um-recaptcha.min.js file, I’m just not sure what I need to change in order to get v3 working on my site. I’ve enabled v2 as that seems to be working, however some spam registrations seem to be getting through and I’d like to update to v3 to get them to stop.
EDIT: I forgot to mention that the site is running on WordPress 6.0.3 with version 2.3.1 of the Ultimate Member- Recaptcha plugin installed.
Hi,
Since a few days I am having an issue with the recaptcha on the forms.
For log in I fill up each field and tick the Recaptcha “I am not a bot” and press log in but the error message “Please confirm you are not a robot” comes up anyways. And the error message does not go and I am not able to log in at all.
Thanks
