I have installed the plugin on a new site running the Bricks Builder theme, having used it before on an Elementor site.

My menu allows me to specify that items are visible only to logged-in users. However, the section allowing more detailed control by including or excluding roles is visible, but I cannot tick any boxes.

With the Popup Maker plugin activated on my site:

I’m having trouble configuring the menu links based on “Logged In Users”. I select this option from the dropdown which shows the panel of Radio button and checkbox options.

The Radio buttons are selectable, but I can’t select any of the User Roles checkboxes. It is not grayed out, I just can’t make any selections.

Any suggestions?

I’m getting this error every time I try to change what roles can see which menu item

I have increased max_input_vars to 5000 and max_multipart_body_parts to 5000, and still no change. I can’t change anything on the menus when this plugin is enabled. I can’t seem to figure out what’s causing the issue.

Hi, Just started a MVP website and theres very little installed on it. I have the free astra theme for now, and one menu in the Primary location.

I am using a plugin called User Menu to show / hide menu options based on login status / roles. It works fine on desktop. But when I go down to mobile, it seems to ignore all the settings and just shows every menu item.

Not sure if this is a User Menu issue or an Astra issue

So far the plugin is working great on all the websites i have. Just a quick quesiton is this plugin still active i mean i just dont want too see vulnerabilities on my clients websites. Its been almost 1.2years this plugins isnt updated so can you guys confirm that is it still safe or should i look for an alternative for future.

Hello! I’m using the plugin for the first time today but it’s not working for me. I’d like to use the user’s name, but, after changing the condition to “Logged In Users” , the button that should show up on the right hand side of the Label field is not coming up (see screenshot here https://tinyurl.com/22au345u). I am using your User Menus app which does what I am wanting. But when I look on www.ads-software.com it states that it has not been tested on the latest 3 versions of WordPress. Are you planning to do more development work on this plugin as I do not what to introduce a new plug in to do what I want?

In my menus, I’ve selected
Who can see this link? = Logged In Users
Choose which roles can see this link = Active Members, Administrator

After saving the menu and reviewing the settings, only Active Members was checked.

I’ve tried various other combinations, and no matter how many roles I select, only the first is saved.

I disabled all other plugins and the result was the same.

Is there any information you need to help debug?

I’m not sure why the logout feature isn’t working for me. When clicking the logout User Link, added to the menu from the User Links I see the following in the URL:
https://example.org/?action=logout&redirect_to=https%3A%2F%2Fexample.org&_wpnonce=cef906ff71

but there doesn’t appear to be a related action page and the user isn’t actually logged out.

Any insight would be most appreciated.

First of all I’d like to convey that I love this plugin. I have used it to replace “The Other” Nav Menu plugin mainly because I like the dropdown selector and the added functionalities.

I made some minor changes to the nav-menu-edit-custom-fields.php file for better functionality.

Here are the changes I implemented:

• Newer Walker Class: The script now uses Walker_Nav_Menu for broader compatibility with recent WordPress versions.
• Dedicated Hook: It replaces the regular expression with the walker_nav_menu_start_el hook to insert custom fields during menu item rendering. This is a more reliable approach.
• Field Sanitization: The script includes wp_kses_post to sanitize user input within custom fields before outputting them. This helps prevent potential XSS vulnerabilities.
• Note:
• This script still relies on plugins and themes using the?wp_nav_menu_item_custom_fields?hook to define their custom fields.

Hi, it looks like there’s a deprecation in 8.2:
Creation of dynamic property FS_User::$is_beta is deprecated+
Is this an issue and should I roll back to 8.1? Also, any plans to fix this?

I’m testing ‘Twenty Twenty Four’ wordpress theme and I cannot see the menus anymore in Appearance.

Great plugin… only some weird issue:

Sub menu options seems only working with standard WP roles.
If current user has some custom role then all menus/options are showing up despite that are checked only to show for admin users.

Some help please?

I would like to show some selected users an extra menu item. These selected users have all different roles, and not all users with the same role should see the menu item. You see my challenge, I cannot switch visibility on a role.

I would like to switch the visibility of a menu item based on an user capability.

Any thoughts? Alternatives?

First of all – great plugin. Simple and just works. I currently used {avatar} for the top-level menu for logged and non-logged users, but unfortunately {avatar} do not show any image at all for non-logged users, so my top-level menu-item is blanked for non-logged and showing nothing.

So here comes my feature request – for {avatar} please put a standard placeholder-avatar image for non-logged users.

Like many others, a conflicting theme is stopping me from using this excellent plugin. However I found a way to use it with a conflicting theme, and I want to check for advice before doing this on my live site.

1. As Daniel has said elsewhere, in theme functions.php inside the line remove_filter( ‘wp_edit_nav_menu_walker’, ‘conflicting-function’ );
2. Edit the menu entries for which you are using this plugin, and save the menu. This destroys the mega menu offered by my theme, but saves the data from this plugin, I presume as meta-data.
3. Go back to functions.php and comment out the line added earlier
4. Return to the menu, fix anything that was lost in the previous save (for me it was my mega-menu option) and save it again. This puts back what was lost, but because it doesn’t know about this plugin’s meta-data, that data remains intact even though you can’t see it.

The result of the above steps is a menu that runs with the conflicting theme, and with the benefit of this plugin. BUT … is this a good idea?

How can I get rid of the Review nag notification. I have tried clicking the “X” to close it and it just comes right back. Tried clicking the “Ok, you deserve it” link and same thing. I can’t make it go away.

We have a new website and no errors showing in developer console, but after I delete the notice, it comes right back when I refresh page.

I don’t want to remove/hide menu items from logged-out users, I want to redirect users to a login page/display a modal login window in order to access the page that a specific menu item is linked to. Is that possible with this plugin?
