Hi.
I have installed the plugin. But for some reason there may be a conflict in the cms? I am not sure what. But when I input the old url links to update e.g. https://www.churchesfire.com/our-company/accreditations-and-memberships/ to update all links to this page: https://www.churchesfire.com/accreditations-and-memberships/ I get an error message.

I had a problem that after uploading the website to the server from localhost I had broken links for some images and posts.
I’ve installed and activated Velvet plugin,
pressed Tools–> update URLs
then entered https://localhost:8080/whitecosmic as my old URL and https://www.whitecosmic.com as the new
Now nothing is working. I cant even access the dashboard.
I only get this 404 Not Found openresty Error message

]]>Hello
I love the plugin, but im not sure if it is still safe to use.
Will there be an update of this plugin to ensure the compability with the newest wordpress version (5.9.2)?
Has anyone tested it with the new WP version?
Thanks alot for the feedback.
Hi,
We would like to use this plugin.
It seems this plugin is not compatible with WordPress 5.8.2 (latest at this moment).
Are you going to make the plugin compatible with the latest version of WordPress?
]]>Hey everyone, I’m not sure if it’s just the last few sites that I have sent live, but none of my custom font URLs have been updated by Velvet Blues meaning I’ve had to go in manually and remove the wrong ones and add them upload them to the site again.
Is there any way around this or any chance you might be changing this in the future? I’m using Divi theme and using their font uploader, so not sure if this makes a difference.
]]>The plugin updates most URLs but there are more to go: I noticed the image URLs in theme customizer haven’t been updated and also URLs not containing the host (e.g. /client/wp-content/...
should be updated to /wp-content/...
when moving from https://localhost/client/
to https://client.com/
).
Hello,
I have a question about your plugin. Is it possible to change urls of all products from an old eshop? My eshop uses wordpress and the old works in joomla!
Thanks in advance
]]>I have several blocks with url fields in them. I wanted to know if this plugin would replace these links inside blocks too?
]]>I’ve used Velvet many times and love it. I’ve noticed that links I’ve created in Widgets, however, need to be manually updated. My question: I’ve got a number of downloadable WooCommerce products. When I update the URLs with Velvet will it update those URLs or will I have to go in manually and do it?
Thnx!
]]>Hi. I am not sure when I should use the plugin in this particular case :
My client website is actually hosted by Gandi (and the domain name). I made a new website on my server to replace it, and we want to host it on another client server (O2switch). So I will put the WordPress files on the o2switch temporary address, update WP-config, update URL in Wp Option then change DNS in Gandi to point at O2switch server, then install SSL (they say I have to wait to do that until DNS is ok). When should I run the plugin to update all URLs ? Can I do it before I change DNS ? If I do that, I will need to put the temporary address in wp-option to be able to connect to the WordPress back office and run the plugin. But If I do that, should I put the temporary address as the new one ? Or the final one ? I am lost… As DNS propagation takes 24 or 48 hours, I need to be sure that the first clients accessing the new website won’t click on an old link. I hope it’s clear enought. Thank you !
I have prepared a new version of my .com site, using the .net version of the domain for staging the fresh installation. But there also some links to the .de version of the domain (mostly links to images, but some internal links as well).
Can I run the process twice to change all .de links to .com, and then change the .net links to .com?
Help!
I uploaded this plugin to try to tidy up my image catalogue that goes back to 2012. I deleted loads of old images, then deleted their folders. What I was left with were all merged into a new “images” folder, rather than uploads/2020/06. I installed the plugin hoping to be able to update the paths to this new uploads/images folder and updated one images link.
Since then, every image on my site has basically vanished. Media library just shows grey boxes. The images don’t show when looking in cpanel, but they do when you run a search for them. The WP-Options database table doesn’t have an “option_value” against “upload_path”.
Please advise what I need to do to “up-do” whatever it was that this plugin did to my site?
Thanks!
]]>Just wondering in the two fields if you need to put https:// or if you can simply put the domain?

]]>I was looking at the source to see if I could call this from another plugin. I do not think so, but could you give a statement on that? Or possibly a way to do so?
That being said, the source code seems straightforward. It isn’t a very big plugin. Which I see as a plus because this is probably one of the reasons this still works after a year of not being updated.
While I can confirm that at least for me it has worked with WP 5.4 without any issues I still would appreciate a minor update to just push the “tested up to” up and the “last time updated” down from “1 year ago”. I don’t see any need for actual changes in functionality or anything, though.
]]>Using plugin ver.
Using WordPress ver. 5.4
I recently ran the plugin and had a large number of errors displayed, of two types:
1) Database error
Example:
WordPress database error: [You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 's assumptions about the value of releases https://newurl.com/?p=902";}}' WHER' at line 1]
UPDATE wp_postmeta SET meta_value = 'a:1:{s:7:"twitter";a:1:{i:262062959;s:128:"Releases and Changes: How agile methods have changed ITIL's assumptions about the value of releases https://newurl.com/?p=902";}}' WHERE meta_id = 4923
The value that should have been changed in that record is:
a:1:{s:7:"twitter";a:1:{i:262062959;s:125:"Releases and Changes: How agile methods have changed ITIL's assumptions about the value of releases https://oldurl.com/?p=902";}}
Here is another example of a meta_value field in wp_postmeta that should have been changed, but was not:
a:1:{s:7:"twitter";a:1:{i:262062959;s:135:"Psychology and Service Management: what can we learn in service mgmt from Kahneman's Thinking, Fast and Slow? https://oldurl.com/?p=853";}}
2) Unserialize()
Example:
Notice: unserialize(): Error at offset 4283 of 6738 bytes in /blahblah/wp-content/plugins/velvet-blues-update-urls/velvet-blues-update-urls.php on line 91
There were about 25 errors of this type
The summary screen for the session did not show any information about errors. I would have expected there to be a line stating that ‘x updates failed’ or something of the sort.
]]>Please add a “settings” link from the Plugins page of your plugin to the actual page where the plugin resides. I have 80 plugins installed and can hardly located it.
]]>Please, inform us about a term when Plugin Velvet Blues Update URLs will be tested and actualized for WordPress version 5.3.2?
]]>Apologies if this is already asked and answered – I searched but couldn’t find a relevant topic.
In the Old URL and New URL fields, can I simply do a portion of a url, or does it need to be a complete absolute URL? Or does it allow use of regex?
I moved my staging site to production and some of my staging links to both pages and media are still inconsistently appearing.
I’d like to update any remaining image or link urls from
mydomain.com/staging/file-name
to
mydomain.com/file-name
Can I simply put “/staging/” in my old URL box and “/” in the new? That would save me from looking for every staging link in the code on my production site.
]]>I am having an issue with some of my images.
For example:
file url: ../uploads/testLogo-primary.jpg but the File name: fscLogo-primary-1.png (yes it is acually a png file)
file url: ../uploads/testLogo.jpg and file name fscLogo.jpg
Can I use your plugin to replace
../uploads/testLogo-primary.jpg with ../uploads/fscLogo-primary-1.png
../uploads/testLogo.jpg with ../uploads/fscLogo.jpg
../ would be the correct path found in the file url
Thanks
]]>Hello
At the moment the menu item title is “Update URLs”.
It could be better if it was translatable like the other strings of the plugin.
Thank you
]]>I noticed when adding categories that the category was not being updated in the list after hitting submit, but when you refresh the page the category showed up.
Then when adding a category on a product it would give the generic red error message up top of page saying “undefined”. And again would show in the list after page refresh.
Normally as you’d know a category will show without refresh in the list on the right after adding a category on the left.
Upon disabling plugin adding categories behaved as normal/expected.
Also when Velvet Blues is enabled it prevents the category list being updated after/when deleting a category, but refreshing the page shows it was deleted.
I am hoping the plugin can be updated to fix this issue.

Hi,
We are wondering if your plugin uses XMLRPC.PHP ? I ask because we have been advised to block this in our .htaccess file with this code:
<Files xmlrpc.php>
order deny,allow
deny from all
</Files>
….If we do this, will it cause any issues with your plugin? We have been advised that this is a good thing to do for security.

Harold
Hi,
For SEO purposes, we like to change few URLs in our site, including the navigation driven by Mega Menu plugin. Can Velvet help this?
Thank you,

Why do the results show 0 URLs updated?
This happens if a URL is incorrect OR if it is not found in the content. Check your URLs and try again.
Instead, it has added https://https://https:// to the back of my internal links and I can’t remove them site-wide.
