I have mostly self-hosted mp4 on my website and was having all kinds of trouble with the purchased theme displaying the videos. They would not auto-resize to fit the columns, etc. and overlap and different browsers would show them differently (mostly wrong).
THEN I found this Plugin. I installed it and BAM, most of the issues were gone! The video that were already placed were auto-resized, the player works, this is really cool.
The ONLY gig I would say is that I wish the pop-up info box where you enter the mp4 URL and poster URL…I wish had a “browse” button to go back to the Media screen so we wouldn’t have to copy/paste the URL in there manually. Maybe Dustin can add that now !! ??

bad support. also the webm player is broken on mobile firefox and other browser. It is only best in chrome desktop and mobile. Other browsers is a hit or miss

This is the best plugin for compatibility with other plugins. No conflicts what so ever. Please do keep this plugin updated as there is no other plugin that works as seamless as this amazing plugin.
Great job keep up the great work!!!

Actually I’m using V4.5 but the dropdown doesn’t show it. A great clean frameless player. Love the way the progress bar can be colorized to whatever and minimal control visibility. Forget all the other players!

It’s the perfect HTML5 video player from https://www.videojs.com/. Had no problems with the newest Version (4.1). Just click on the “Insert HTML5 video” button in the editor and choose your video. A select button would be nice, so that the user don’t have to look for the video URL. But thanks to the developers for integrating this player into WordPress!

Have tried several non-commercial video plugins. This is the best one and (although untested) it runs on WP 4.1.

Superb player.
I tested Mediaelement.js, Sublime and many others but it is the best among them all.

This works responsively everywhere I can test:
MacBook Pro: Mac OS X 10.6.8 Safari, Firefox, Chrome
iPad Air: iOS 7.0.4 Safari, Chrome
HTC One: Android 4.3 stock browser, Firefox, Chrome
All browsers are the latest available version for each platform.
Excellent work!

This one works perfectly after I tried several player plugins. Simple to use, yet has almost all the options I need. Can I add a title to a video?

Hi,
I already used videojs in my previous html5 webapp created with jQmobile and it worked very fine. This morning, I was searching for a simple but powerful video plugin to install in my WP multilingual testsite and I tested a few before coming across this version of videojs for WP.
I used in my testsite and it worked immediately, just a few clicks and I could use video I had in my previous website without having to upload it again. I have to make some more tests with caption in different languages but I’m sure with the right settings they will work too.
Thank you for the great work!!!

I have just tried this plugin (after trying many others, and not being that impressed with them). So far, it is neat, simple and nice.

Hellos ??
I’d like to request that this plugin can use FFMPEG or some other script, to allow admin to upload 1 file and then auto-encode in to selected formats for multi-compatibility.
Would make things crazy smoother.
I don’t use zen-coder anymore, but intagration with zencoder I believe would be a big plus.
Thanks for everything either way, great plugin

The supplied my needs. But it could be better.

Don’t know why @shawn00m was having so many issues. All I needed was an MP4 (easy to convert formats at https://online-convert.com).
As for ease of use… don’t use shortcodes… re-think your CMS, and always (ALWAYS) use Advanced Custom Fields ( https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/advanced-custom-fields/ ). Clients will then be able to upload a video file or choose a video file from the Media Library via a “File” field type.
This plugin will now be used on every project I do! Thanks a bunch!

It plays video just fine. The only thing I don’t like is that it requires a lot of work outside of WordPress.
No knock to the creator of this. Like I said, it does what it says: plays video. But, the whole idea of WordPress is to make it easy to manage content. In order to use this plugin, you have to convert your video to .mp4, .ogv and .webm first. Then upload them via FTP or the Media Manager in WP. Then you have to copy and paste the URL’s correctly into the page editor. This isn’t rocket science, but it isn’t exactly user friendly for non-tech people.
Like I said, it plays them fine. But an idea solution would be one where the user uploads whatever video they have and all the converting gets done on the back-end without them having to do anything. But, for a free plugin, I can’t complain.
