Hello, there is a minor issue since WP 6.7:
PHP Notice: Function _load_textdomain_just_in_time was called incorrectly. Translation loading for the view-admin-as domain was triggered too early. This is usually an indicator for some code in the plugin or theme running too early. Translations should be loaded at the init action or later.
It only appears when dashboard language is set to other than English (US).
Best regards.
]]>Hello,
I am showing a reset view button somewhere else on the website. In another topic, you said you can simple add the URL parameter ?reset-view to make a reset button.
When I do that, it works and redirects to another page that I specified but the view is still active. Only when reloading the page, everything is normal again. So it appears that there is something stuck in the session which only clears when reloading the page again afterwards.
The button is using the following as the link:
VAA_API::get_reset_link( ‘/my-account/sales-portal/’, false );
Is there something I’m missing ?
Thanks for your advice!
Hi! First of all, let me thank you, this plugin is the best of the best. Being able to make WooCommerce carts and purchases as other user saved me weeks of work!
I do have a question, is there currently a way to filter which users is one able to ‘View As’? I found an old response of Jory here regarding roles: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/use-plugin-on-a-custom-role-but-limit-on-shopmanager/ which was quite useful because i also need to filter by role. Our Sales Agent should be able to purchase viewing as a customer assigned to them. Is currently a filter I’m not finding to achieve this?
Thanks a lot if anyone can help me!
Amazing plugin, thank you.
My client is an ADHD coach and I’ve set up a Gravity Forms/Simply Schedule Appointments booking system so her clients can book and pay for sessions. At the moment they have to pay up-front via Stripe to save their booking.
This all works great, but my client also wants to be able to book on their behalf without payment. So what I need to do is conditionally show or hide the payment form element if the current user is an admin who is impersonating a client.
I couldn’t find an obvious way to do this in the docs or the support forum, but I guess there has to be a state being stored somewhere so that admins can switch back to their accounts.
Any ideas how I could tackle this?
Thanks again,
Steve
Hi
Can I display adminbar in front when change view as visitor?

]]>Hi!
At first, this is a great plugin. I was very impressed by the simplicity and the effectiveness of it not only for switching between user profiles but also for managing roles! I wonder why this is not popular really.
One question: I have a custom role “seller” in my woocommerce store and I want this role to be able to login as a customer to help him buy products.
In seller role capabilities I have enabled only the “edit_users” and the 2 view_admin_as permissions as indicated in other posts in this forum.
So, far so good. The seller can switch to any customer and this is amazing.
BUT, the seller can switch also as an shopmanager and this is not good, as the shopmanager has many permissions that shouldn’t be active on seller.
Is it possible to limit the seller role to specific roles?
I have tried to play with the level_0, level_1 etc but with no luck.
Is there any hook or any way to achieve this?
Hi
my issue is that when logged in as admin, url query parameters are changed.
For example this url: https://dmiskills.dk/dit-program/?konkurrence=?1.show-favorites=true
Becomes this: https://dmiskills.dk/dit-program/?konkurrence=?1_show-favorites=true
If the url contains a query parameter with an array of values like this: posts=14,15,16 – the commas are url encoded.
This only happens when logged in as admin. But it breaks functionality on my site and makes it kinda hard to navigate the site as admin.
Is there a way to prevent the url changes?
]]>Hi! Love your plugin but I enabled View As and not View Admin As Default capability for Shop Managers, so they can’t view as Admin and wreak havoc. And we have two custom user types that are at or below customers in terms of capabilities. I notice that these custom user types are not selectable by Shop Managers unless I give Shop mgrs the “View Admin As Default: capabilities. Am I doing something wrong?
Or is there a place for me to explicitly tell View As that Shop Managers can see these user types and view as them, but not Admins?
Also I am dumbfounded how to get help from you via Slack. I have an account, but no invitation to your space, so I can’t login or hit you up in any sort of obvious way. (New Slack user, in case it’s not obvious haha)
Thank you
]]>Hello
The list of users by role are not shown after 58 users added.
]]>Love this plugin, its helpful to create ‘guardrails’ to avoid any user error. I’ve read the answer at this thread – https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/view-as-other-admin-user/ – about how to view other admins by making us a “superior” admin. But is there a way to restrict the whole plugin to only be viewable by superior admins?
]]>Could plugin developers PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, as a standard, add a LINK in the “Installed plugins” area to the ACTUAL location of the SETTINGS for the activated plugin! ! ! This is one of the biggest problems causing run-arounds for nothing in wordpress, usually ending in DELETING the plugin without a chance to try it.
Same story now with this one. “View Admin As” has no link in the “Installed Plugins” page. It is not in Settings. It is not in Tools. It is not in Users, It is not in Appearance. WTF ! Where the H– is it? !!!!
To do this to people and waste their time when you know they’re busy is REALLY REALLY irritating. Anyway, it’s disabled for the moment, and it will probably get deleted SOON, untried.
]]>Using the latest version of the plugin and Firefox.
As soon as I hover of the settings and want to select “my account” the select hides. Its impossible to click it.
I need to remove the visibility of the plugin for screenshot purposes.
Unfortunately its very frustrating like this, had to uninstall it.
The menu doesn’t appear on any admin pages when UIPress admin theme is used… ??
]]>So, I updated to the latest version of WPML and WPML String Translation and Woocommerce and a strange thing happened: When I view a translated page when logged in as admin, the page breaks. I get an error:
There has been a critical error on this website.
But nothing in the logs or nothing when I enable debug in wp-config. The page just tries to load but seems to stall – and then the error.
If I disable WPML String Translation, it works.
If I disable Woocommerce, it works.
If WooCommerce and string translation is active = site breaks…
I have no idea where to start to debug this in your plugin. I assume the bug is in your plugin as the site works, when I am not logged in as admin and therefor can’t see the view as-features.
I can give you access to the site, if you want. Just mail me at [email protected]

]]>Hi,
If I have Shield security (https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-simple-firewall/) User Management module enabled, when I try to switch users Shield forces a logout because it can’t detect a valid user session. I’ve contacted Shield and they respond that it is an issue with View Admin As.
Is there a chance that you can look at this issue to see if there is a fix?
Thanks,

Hello,
I tried to change the view when I am on a draft preview post, but show me a 404 error post not found, probably because the post isn’t available for users who can’t access to draft posts. Is there a solution to change the view on a draft post preview?
(and, I think I found a bug. For users who have two or more roles, they don’t appear on the users’ lists of the plugin, because of the multiple roles. It would be great if the plugin can handle users with multiple roles!)
]]>Is it possible to restrict the access to the “View Admin As” plugin to one specific admin user (me)? There are other Admin users that should not have access to the plugin.
I can not remove the “View Admin As” capability from the “Admin” role because that would remove it for me as well and I would prefer not having to create a new role for me just for that purpose.
Is it possible by putting some code into the functions.php or into the /mu-plugin/ folder?
Thank you!
]]>Hey
You are stating in the plugin description the following:
Also keep in mind that switching to users that have equal roles is disabled. (regular admins to regular admins + super admins to super admins)
I wonder why that is and if there is something I could do about it to get around it.
Situation:
Client has the role Administrator and should keep that role.
I also have the role Administrator. I want to use a plugin (Admin Menu Editor) to hide some of the elements to Administrators (except for my user). This is easily possible.
However, I cannot check how the backend looks like for the client, because I cannot “view as” client-user if we both have the role Administrator.
Would there be some way around it?
Thanks
Markus
]]>Hi there,
I just tried your plugin on two different Elementor sites.
As soon as the plugin is enabled I loose the submenu of Elementor in the admin bar.
Usually, I can hover over “Edit with Elementor” and either click on it to edit the page, or just hover to open the submenu that shows me “Edit header”, “Edit template x”, etc.
As soon as the plugin is enabled this submenu is gone and not showing anymore
Would love to try and work with your plugin, but I need that Elementor submenu
best regards
Markus
Hi,
Great plugin.
However, I am having an issue on a site where there is WP-Rocket installed.
When the option to enable cache also logged in users is enabled, View Admin As doesn’t work correctly.
In such condition what happens is that if – as an example – I switch to Shop Manager role (or customer or any other role), the change doesn’t take effect.
To trigger it, I then have to manually add “?reset-view” to the page and reload it again.
Then to return to default, I first have to press the “reset to default” button and then again reload the page adding manually “?reset-view”.
Any idea if there is a workaround for this?
]]>I love this plugin and I just want to make sure you’re going to keep it up to date with WordPress updates.
I have a good handful of clients – most of whom do not want to edit their websites, but for the ones who do I am quickly able to see what they are seeing and to create documentation that is specific to their user role.
LOVE IT!

]]>Hello, Thank you for the great plugin – quick question, using on a site with lots of users, and a search for a user first name, returns almost all results as first name only. Only one or two will show first and last name, so it’s difficult to tell them apart. Is there a way to always show first & last names for all users? All of the users do have their full names populated.
Thanks for your help,

Hi I am creating a few roles that will only be able to edit their own page so using
PublishPress Capabilities
PublishPress Permissions
Now if I view the site as the person it works however everytime I try to view as the role I get a 404 every time. How to fix please.
]]>Hello,
I like very much your plugin! Very useful!
I don’t know if it is just me, but the Checkboxes titles in the Settings tab are completely invisible when in the frontend users view. It’s like the color of the Titles text is Black on Black background.
On the other hand, they are completely visible while in the WP Admin pages.
