Is the closing of the plugin on WP.org serious? Can you explain the issue?
]]>WP: 5.8.2
Waiting: 0.5.4
Browsers: tried on Chrome, FF Dev Edition
I’ve been using waiting for a couple of weeks now, crated a few timers, edited, put them om a blog etc. No problems there.
But then, I went to duplicate one of my existing timers, because it is very similar to the existing one (in fact, only changing the day) and the “Duplicate” button… does nothing.
No error messages, no console warning/errors, just not doing a thing. It’s as if it doesn’t attach an event to the butotn.
Am I doing something wrong or is there a problem?
]]>Hello.
I want to use this plugin as a timer.
I want the countdown stat with clicking a button or something.
On admin page, there is “Start on clicking” field.
But I could not understand what kind of information I need to fill in there.
It says “Enter CSS selectors” so please let me know some specific examples for this field.

Hi there,
It appears that the timer we created only shows up if the UTC timezone is chosen. We would prefer that the timer works within our clients’ timezone. Please advise.
Thanks!
]]>IS there an option to show a single digit when counting down days? For example I have a site counting down to Christmas, it now shows 07 days, would prefer 7 days? Small thing but would be nice. Thanks for the plugin!

Hoping you can do an update that will take the plugin off the possibly abandoned plugin category.
]]>Hi, I have a weekly event and my timer says something like “Next event in…. 5 days 3 hours…). Is there a way to reset the timer automatically when the event finishes (or even when it starts) rather than manually each time?
]]>I am using the free version of the plugin to display countdown of Months, Days, Hours and Minutes to a certain date. I want to countdown to July 1, 2020 but in order to display the correct data, I have to enter July 11,2020 in the settings. Even the hours and minutes are off. And even then, later on the countdown will be off at a later date, so I have to reset to another weird date. Is there any way to fix this issue? Do I have to update to Pro version to properly display countdown showing Months, Days, Hours and Minutes?
Thank You

]]>Hi,
Can you kindly provide some documentation on how to use the DOM event? Basically I wanted the timer to be replaced with text after the countdown finishes.
Do you know how to?
Thanks a lot.

]]>I like your plugin and its simplicity. But is there a way i can use it for evergreen type?
Evergreen means that the countdown is unique per visitor, A kind of scarcity inducing
Hi,
Love the plugin but for it to display the correct date I have to reduce the date by 12 days. For example for the 5th August to be displayed I have to set the count down to the 24th July.
Any ideas?
Thanks

]]>Hi,
I just ran the PHP Compatibility Checker to see if I can use PHP7 for my site instead of PHP5.6. On the plugin Waiting I get 72 warnings:
WARNING | Possible use of ASP style opening tags detected. ASP style opening tags have been removed in PHP 7.0.
I tried to find some information on https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/waiting/, and noticed that it has been 8 months since the plugin was updated. So i have 2 questions:
1. Are you planning to update / maintain this plugin?
2. is it PHP7 compatible?
I really like this plugin, so I’m hooping for a positive answer on both questions?
]]>Hi.
My website https://slopiewnie.pl
I use cache plugin WP Fastest Cache and countdown plugin.
However, the counter always starts from the same moment. I need to have the cache enabled so that the page loads faster.
Fastest Cache forum suggests that “plugin should count via Ajax.”

]]>Hi,
Can you please confirm whether or not the Waiting plugin is collects, stores, transfers user data, sets cookies or is any way subject to GDPR?
Thanks,
Laura
Not sure what happened. The plugin has been working just fine for a long time, but today I checked my site and the timers aren’t there. Everything else about the plugin seems to work normally. The preview of the timers appears normally in the backend where you set up the timers, but the shortcode doesn’t render the timers on my pages anymore.
I tried disabling all my other plugins, and tried other browsers, but nothing works.
]]>Hi! Got a question. How can I add more than 1 Waiting shortcode on one page? On my website only the first is visible, no more.
]]>Hi there,
I’m trying to translate the waiting plugin in French. I’m using the poedit tool.
I have no problem with strings like Quick Translation, Edit. …
But when I translate text regarding time units, like Years by Annee (in French) or Days by Jours (in French), Weeks by Semaines, Hours by Heures, theses strings are not translated in French neither in the backend, neither in the front end.
Any idea ?
Thx.
Catherine.
]]>Hi there,
I’m using polylang plugin for my site. I need to manage 2 languages : french and English.
I’m using Waiting plugin.
I need to have the labels of days, hours, minutes, … in french and English.
So I tried to modify the translateTerms() function to do that.
But I don’t know how to get the language selected.
I tried to test the ICL_LANGUAGE_CODE, but it’s alway blank ?
Any idea to do that ?
Thanks for your help.
Regards.
Catherine.
I really like this plugin, but i can’t use it for my french translated page, only for the english one. Any way you can help? I saw that you suggested some changes to be done to the code but i am not an expert in PHP. Please help!
]]>I’m using Waiting to display a countdown timer on a sales page on my primary domain. My order form is on a subdomain.
How do I get a countdown timer on the order form to display the same time as the countdown timer on the sales page?

]]>Hi!
I don’t see where I can activate the 3d cubical in free version O_o :-/
BTW, you really needs to consider idea of adding WPML compatibility or at least give the option to translate Hours, minutes …. etc …
My website has 3 langs, I wish to show the SAME countdown in all languages.
TIA

Phil
Waiting countdown timers are not displaying on our website. I just added on and the shortcode is replaced with nothing. See the following page –

The time is for an event tomorrow morning so I would really like to get this fixed quickly. I am a Pro user.
]]>Hi,
We experienced a problem with the various versions of IE displaying the countdown vertically like this:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/bqj1n5irq0rk82s/Screenshot%202017-10-19%2011.06.09.jpg?dl=0
We diagnosed the problem to IE not reading the width properly from the parent ( as mentioned in a previous thread ). Various attempts to define the width failed but we found we could edit the pbc.js file to not set the width on the pbc-shell div ( which was causing the problem ).
The change we made is here:
PBCountdown.prototype.setupShell = function( m ){
this.shellsel = ‘#pbc-shell-‘ + this.id;
this.selector = this.shellsel + ‘ .pbc-down-count’;
this.host = $(‘#pbc-cover-‘+this.id);
this.host.find(‘.pbc-shell’).remove();
this.host.append( PBCUtils.baseTemplate(this.id) );
this.down = $(this.selector);
this.shell = $(this.shellsel);
this.shell.css(‘width’, function(){ return $(this).parent().width(); });
this.orgfont = new Array(this.style.css.num[0], this.style.css.label[0]);
this.em.trigger(‘pbc.setupshell’);
};
To:
PBCountdown.prototype.setupShell = function( m ){
this.shellsel = ‘#pbc-shell-‘ + this.id;
this.selector = this.shellsel + ‘ .pbc-down-count’;
this.host = $(‘#pbc-cover-‘+this.id);
this.host.find(‘.pbc-shell’).remove();
this.host.append( PBCUtils.baseTemplate(this.id) );
this.down = $(this.selector);
this.shell = $(this.shellsel);
// this.shell.css(‘width’, function(){ return $(this).parent().width(); });
this.orgfont = new Array(this.style.css.num[0], this.style.css.label[0]);
this.em.trigger(‘pbc.setupshell’);
};
We haven’t found any issues with the change cross browsers or mobile. You can see the live page here ( counter will be live for a few weeks ):
