In February 2023, GenerateBlocks released version 1.7 which changed the way the GenerateBlocks Container block functions: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/generateblocks/. Prior to that plugin release, Wayfinder worked as expected with GenerateBlocks, but since, the padding (15px 12px) from the Wayfinder editor-style.css takes precedent over the actual GenerateBlocks Container block and Button block padding in the block editor: .block-editor-page.wayfinder-outline [data-title], .block-editor-page.wayfinder-classes [data-title], .block-editor-page.wayfinder-title [data-title]. That means the content display is the block editor is not accurate. You might say that the problem is with GenerateBlocks since Wayfinder was compatible previously and it isn’t now. I have reported the issue to the GenerateBlocks team, but felt the Wayfinder team should be made aware also as there might be an easy fix that Wayfinder could implement.
]]>This is by far the best plugin for what it does, that said, I just tested WP 6.2 Beta1 (released earlier today), and they are not compatible.
]]>Any plans for a keystroke/shortcut to activate/deactivate?
Would be a lot more useful if so!
]]>Hey again!
WordPress 6.1 introduced “List Item” blocks which get nested inside List blocks.
At least for us, it looks like Wayfinder being active causes the bullet points to be on one line, and the actual list item contents to be on the next. Disabling Wayfinder makes them look as expected again.
If you have a minute, can you take a look and see if it’s the same for you and if there’s a way to stop the line break?
Cheers and thanks! ??
]]>Hey mate!
I know Wayfinder adds extra padding in the editor so it has room to display its stuff. I just realized that this extra padding breaks the set number of columns in a Gallery block, making it typically render in the back-end with 1 fewer columns than set.
I’m not sure if there’s any special styling you can apply in this situation so that the right number of columns are shown in the Editor (especially because showing a single column instead of 2 columns makes it look VERY different), but figured I’d let you know in case you have any ideas.
Cheers!
]]>Hey there!
I noticed a huge discrepancy between the backend and the frontend.
After examination, this plugin adds padding to GenerateBlocks blocks in the backend, but not in the Frontend.
This really makes editing a hassle.
Is this behaviour intended?
Cheers
]]>I was looking for an option to always show the outlines and block types instead of only showing them as I move my mouse around. If that’s not possible, please add it to your Feature Request list if you have one.
Maybe by each option you could have a On Hover and Always checkboxes.
Display Block Type: On Hover | Always
Display Block Classes: On Hover | Always
etc.
Other than that, it’s great.
]]>Great plugin. It would be nice to have it work when editing FSE theme Template or Template Parts in addition to Posts and Pages.
]]>Disappointed to see this:
“This plugin has been closed as of January 25, 2022 and is not available for download. This closure is temporary, pending a full review.”
Hopefully the plugin can come back — it’s a HUGE usability improvement in the block editor!
]]>Hello! Neat plugin!
I totally realize that you can’t support every block from every plugin that exists, but I wanted to report unexpected behaviour.
I use Stackable blocks library. On the Advanced Column Block, hovering over an individual column causes it to make the whole column have a background colour. Here is a screen cast: https://streamable.com/huyi2a
I’ve tried using the inspector to see what is going on, but I’m not finding a background colour. As you can see from the cast, the regular column block works fine.
Thanks!
]]>Thanks very much for the sweet plugin. I’m writing an article on it now (will share a link with you when it’s posted!).
I have come across one strange bit of behaviour though. The plugin outlines show around buttons on the Add Plugins page of the admin. Here’s a screencap: https://www.dropbox.com/s/gqr2frgegighcd5/Screen%20Shot%202021-08-11%20at%202.57.01%20PM.png?dl=0
Hope this helps!
]]>This is a strange thing. On 2 test sites, both running WP 5.8 and the latest Gut. plugin among others, one site is fine with the latest update (v.1.0.3) the other is not. The width of some blocks (Group, Cover are 2 such examples) are reduced to 868 px. Obviously another plugin is interfering… Clearing the cache did not help, only reverting to an earlier version (V1.0.2) helped fix the situation.
Here is a short video, showing the front end first (which is irrelevant), and the back end with the Wayfinder initially been turned off and then turned on…
Thanks, love this plugin, will stick to previous versions until the issue is resolved.
