It took me a while to understand how to access the setting : the dropbox is not very intuitive in my opinion.
Is there a way to translate the various data which are displayed under the map into another language (like French) ?
The message text (sleep options) doesn’t change after customization.

I hope you are doing well. I noticed something strange with the elevation profile. I have uploaded a GPX file (see attachment) containing several tracks to waymark. The transition from one track to another is not displayed correctly. A strange diagonal line is shown. I have opened the file in 2 different GPX editors (viking and gpsprune, see also in the attachment), here the elevation profile is shown correctly. Can you please check this.

Can I set a base height for the profile, so that the height difference is displayed more flatly?
For example, my minimum height is 401m and I would like to set this to 200 in the profile.

]]>Joe, I LOVE this plug-in for WordPress. I have made dozens of maps, but when I tried my first collection map, it’s all grey. I assume that if two individual maps have the same collection checked, I should see both routes together? Now it’s all grey, until I hit the current location spot and the map shows my area – but if I scroll to where I should see the routes, there is nothing there. The site is not public, but I can easily provide access. First, I wanted to know if the grey screen is a known issue. Also, we I go to the “/collections/slug” page, I only see the three map titles listed, but no map. That’s another action that I wasn’t expecting. I’m hoping this is a issue of my stupidity. THANKS for everything.

we’re using Waymark version 1.3.2 and we can’t create markers in new maps and can’t add images any more. Existing markers on older maps are not not shown any longer. We created a few marker types in the customizing and it used to work. I tried with current version of Chrome and Firefox.
For older maps markers do appear according our customizing settings in “display mode” – see Rund um den Flugplatz Walldorf – Rhein-Neckar Skater e.V. (rhein-neckar-skater.de) but in edit mode the markers are not shown.
Any idea how to overcome this situation?

When I load my website and I’m not logged in to WordPress, the collections short codes only load the latest map I’ve uploaded.
Only when I’m logged in do the collections short codes load all maps.
Can you think of a reason for this?

I hope you are doing well. We had contact several years ago. I still use your great plugin :-). In the course of time few questions have arisen that I would like to ask you:
1.
I have specified the color green for a track. When I publish the track on the website, there is a red track under the green track. As the width of the green track is narrower than the red line, it looks strange, as if the green line has a red border. When I click on the track, a red line actually appears. Is this necessary due to the display of the elevation profile?

I do not use the entire screen width on my website. The map with the tracks and the photos is therefore limited by the column width. However, I can set the map to full screen mode. The map is then used across the entire width of the screen. If I click on a “Photo” marker, the photo opens on the map. If I click on the photo, it is displayed in its own tab in full size. Everything works as it should. What bothers me, however, is that the map is reset from full-screen mode to the original column width of the website. I have to switch the map back to full screen mode every time. If I want to view another image in full screen, the same thing happens. It is very tedious to select the full screen mode on the map again and again.
I have created a video (Video2) , unfortunately the behavior is not so clear. If you have any questions, I will try to explain it better again.
3.
Joe, I have already placed this request. Is it not possible to mark the associated thumbnail to the image in color with a colored rectangle around the thumbnail or a colored line above the thumbnail?Then you can see immediately in the thumbnail list where the thumbnail is located. That would be great if it could be realized.
4.
If the map is set to full screen, the elevation profile is no longer visible. Only the photo or thumbnail and the Track are visible.
Is it not possible to display the elevation profile on the map which is in full size displayed? Possibly as an additional window on the map, if the display is not useful due to the large width above the thumbnails.
5.
I have a map with all my tracks. What I always miss is that I don’t have a search option on the map to find new hikes/trips. It would be super cool if it was possible to search a location on the map. Can you possibly add this?

]]>Hi, my issue is that I need about 150 markers numbered from 1 to 150, in a small area. There are also 150 polygons (maps), with 3 different colors that represents the map type. Polygons does not cause the map crash: it take only 2 seconds to be charged. But the markers are the problem. With the markers, the entire website goes down. So, now I deleted, one by one, all the markers on the polygons. And I also deleted the markers from the settings… after creating them one by one… 150 markers. Because they are simply useless if the map crashes. Now the area and the 150 polygons are charged in 2 seconds, but without the markers is not the same… and I would bind an image with every polygon. But if the result would be another crash, like in the markers case, how can I do it?

Just a quick suggestion, it’d be great if we could include a component at the bottom of the page that links to similar routes in the same collection for instance? In much the same way e-commerce product pages have “similar products” sections.
And a second idea that came to mind would be to have a date format available under type in the Meta.

]]>This is a strange one that I’ve stumbled across and can’t get my head around it.
On some routes within collection maps, the waymarks include links to the route itself. On others, they just include the text, but no links. Have I missed something along the way?
E.g. on this page you can click on the waymarks in the map at the very top of the page, and two of the routes’ waymarks include links to the route, while the third doesn’t. Any ideas why?

Got a question regarding the elevation gain calculation. I know my question maybe does not belong to the Waymark plugin itself, but it would be amazing to add this feature.
Seeing that the elevation recorded by any GPS device is prone to error and seeing that Waymark does only a simply math operation for giving us that number, usually the elevation gain is always bigger than it should be (tried few times, the error seems to be around 10% with my device).
Do you suggest to smooth the GPX points with other software prior to upload it to Waymark? Or could you add a smoothing feature to the plugin?

I am acutally facing a kind of weird problem. I upload a GPX file which is displayed as expected in the waymark maps editing mode:
Thickness of the red line is as expected.
Now I embed this map in a posting, which then looks like this:
You see: the thickness of the line increased and there is a white border around. If I click on the top right icon, I can select to not display the line. If I do so the line disappears, but I click on display the line again, it is displayed as expected:
Furthermore, the elevation profile is gone. Whats wrong with my installation here?

edit: The issue doesn’t occur on a mobile device and does not exist in Safari on a Mac. But it occurs in chrome and in incognito mode on chrome (Mac). On a mobile device it even doesn’t occur with the chrome app.
]]>Went on a trip recently and tried to add some maps to my blog but they do not show up. Then I checked the older pages on my blog and there the maps do not show anymore either. They did work before. Tested with multiple browsers (Edge, Chrome, Brave), WordPress and plugin are on latest version. Even reinstalled the plugin. I’m using the shortcode Waymark file_url on my pages to point to a gpx file on the same server.
Already checked with adding a shortcode to an example gpx file in post on my website (pointing it to https://www.waymark.dev/assets/geo/track-ele-only.gpx) and that works. But if I download that gpx file and put it on my server it does not work. So that tells me the installation is Ok, but somehow it fails to get the gpx file from my server. Verified that the file is accessible from the internet by opening that url in a browser and was able to download the gpx file with no issue.
Anyone have any ideas how to troubleshoot this further? It seems like it just cannot load the gpx file for some reason. Could it be that the webserver just cannot resolve the dns name? Is there a way to link internally (for example link to [/wordpress/wp-content/filename] instead of [https://<siteurl>/wordpress/wpcontent/filename])?
