Hi there,
The plugin worked perfectly, for a time. Then all of a sudden Chrome refuses to open a new tab when the big blue button is pressed. It also only happens with this one provider (Airalo) The other 3 providers open fine in Chrome, and all providers open in Safari and FF.
I had another piece of code in the functions.php that did exactly the same thing. Worked for a while, then Chrome has other ideas. I remove that code, flush caches, re-insert the code, flush caches again, all links open fine in Chrome, then not.
I then deactivated and reactivated this plugin and Chrome works, for a while, then not.
I’m not using tinyurls or any other such shortener.
Any ideas? What am I missing?
Sean.

Hi, wish you all well and health. I have 2 issues with the WooCommerce plugin. This has taken over a day and still not found any good solution even implementing the code at the function.php file. I use Divi theme. And I created some product posts manually. Then, I downloaded the csv file, and added some more products to upload the csv file. First issue is when clicking on a product at the front side, the detailed product is shown under category products, not shown in the new tab after entering the code at function.php. The storefront as shown in screenshots https://knowledge-easy.com/wp-content/uploads//2024/IssuesToShowProducts/Storefront.png ; here is after clicking a product https://knowledge-easy.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/IssuesToShowProducts/Afterclicked.png Secondly, which plugin to upload csv product file to have Categories, affiliate links are also uploaded consistently? The upload tool of Woocommerce did not upload all the items needed very often. Thank you very much and take care of everyone.

I’m trying to use this plugin in Astra (using Elementor) and my external products are still not opening in a new tab?

Greetings sir,
Excuse my ignorance, but I do not understand well what the plugin is for, I installed it and did not observe any change in the behavior of my site.
Question: with this plugin I can ensure that the user never leaves my site and sell him through my woocommerce?
Thank you so much
Hi Stuart
So, although the link has worked a couple of times in this site it is generally not working for me.
When I click the link “buy from hive” button is just loops within the same tab to the same page.
I have another site on which it seems to be working ok but it’s this site I really need it working smoothly on as this is where, once “complete”, I hope to gain some income from affiliate links.
I look forward to hearing from you again.
Many thanks and best wishes,
Jerry.
Hi Team,
Great plugin but I think it is not providing any opportunity to add rel=”sponsored” to affiliate link.
As per below guide, it is much needed. WOuld be great if you add this feature.

Hi, wondering if there is a way to make this plugin work with the Tutor LMS plugin/platform. Thanks
Hi, thanks for the plugin, works great on desktops however strangely, I’m noticing it doesn’t appear to work on mobiles, or at least not for me, using Chrome on desktop and mobile, just the mobile doesn’t open new page, wondering if this is something you’ve experienced.
Cheers
Hi, great plugin! I was using this plugin with external links to off site products and using Google’s Lighthouse speedtests. I noticed Lighthouse warning flags for having target=”_blank” with the external links but not the rel=”noopener noreferrer” tags to prevent XSS (cross-site scripting) attacks.
You could please consider the following in future updates in wc-external-product-new-tab.php?
1. Change rel=”nofollow” on lines 180 and 215 to rel=”nofollow noopener noreferrer”
2. If needed, you could also add conditional logic depending if the product links went off site or stayed on site.
Thanks! Great plugin!

Unfortunately, it creates a disfunction of the site.

Hi there. I’m trying to add Amazon affiliate products to my woocommerce store. Under the product data section after I’ve selected “external/affiliate product” from the dropdown menu and have added my affiliate URL, I’m trying to change the button text to something like “Buy on Amazon”. This is the button where it says “This text will be shown on the button linking to the external product.”
After renaming the button text and viewing my product, the button text still says “External Button”. It hasn’t changed to “Buy on Amazon” at all.
I’m using the Ocean WP theme and Elementor, but I haven’t added the new product in Elementor at all but have added it as a normal product post. Even if I try switching to editing in Elementor and adding the “single add to cart” widget from Elementor, it still doesn’t allow me to change the text from “External Button” to anything else.
I have tried this with other external URLs instead of Amazon, but it’s the same result. I have also tried checking in an Incognito window where it’s not cached, and even on other browswers. However, it’s still the same result.
This is very frustrating. It should be a very simple matter of just being able to change the text, but even that I can’t do. It means I can’t really display affiliate products in my store because all it will say on the button is “External Button”.
Is there something I’m doing wrong or is there a bug with the Woocommerce plugin perhaps?
Any help would be appreciated on this. Thanks.

Hi Stuart,
Is this plugin only designed to work on Single product pages? When I click buy product on the Product Archive page it does not open a new tab.
Thanks,
Monica

Hi Stuart,
I’ve used this plugin for ages and it does exactly what is needed. My security plugin is now warning me against it’s use and also see on the plugin home page a warning “This plugin hasn’t been tested with the latest 3 major releases of WordPress. It may no longer be maintained or supported and may have compatibility issues when used with more recent versions of WordPress.”
I see you are still active in the WordPress world and wonder if you will be maintaining it in the future?
Thanks,
James

Since the plug-in is not updated for a long time, dose it work with the latest version of WordPress and WooCommerce.

Hi,
I have a fresh install with Shopkeeper theme. When I have you plug-in activated I will get two “add to cart”-buttons on the product page.
Do you have any idea what causes this?
I have used your plugin with the theme before without issues.
Have a great day!
/Daniel
You could add the option to remove the image link from the product loop. I have done this using the below snippet. Replacing the anchor link with a div assists with style customization.
function vr51_woocommerce_template_loop_product_link_open() {
echo '
';
}
function vr51_woocommerce_template_loop_product_link_close() {
echo '
';
}
remove_action( 'woocommerce_before_shop_loop_item', 'woocommerce_template_loop_product_link_open', 10 );
remove_action( 'woocommerce_after_shop_loop_item', 'woocommerce_template_loop_product_link_close', 5 );
add_action( 'woocommerce_before_shop_loop_item', 'vr51_woocommerce_template_loop_product_link_open', 10 );
add_action( 'woocommerce_after_shop_loop_item', 'vr51_woocommerce_template_loop_product_link_close', 5 );
Though I use a div you could instead keep the A tag but remove the target product page link. This would retain any theme styles applied to a.woocommerce-LoopProduct-link.
Thanks for your plugin. I found it useful.

Hi Stuart,
Your plugin is working like a charm, but i dont understand why my cart logo in green circle (link for redirection) is hidden after your plugin activation.
Just green circle leave, and cart logo with hover effect missed.
Only when your plugin is activated :-/
