Plugin is great for monitoring, but there are some small issues currently with the settings of the notifications which should be fixed in the next release.
it would be great to have option to export and import settings of the plugin (mainly ignored folders), which would be useful if using plugin on multiple websites (you can achieve it in the database, but it’s not very user friendly).

On a custom, self-managed VPS this plug brought my server to its knees, resulting in constant 504 gateway timeouts until I deleted it. Glad I only tested this on one site, I will not use it again and will keep my files locked down instead.

I agree that the new version is very bad. Before version 2.0, everything was fast and simple. Now it ‘s something clumsy . I had to abandon this plugin and use a solution that gives the same result in 3 seconds.

I use this plugin on a daily basis to be notified if any malicious files are added to my server without my knowledge. Had a small issue with another plugin causing some conflicts and this plugin support team gave me a code snippet to resolve the issue and it was not even there plugin causing the conflict. Now that is customer service ??

This plugin gives you a hawk’s eye over each file of your website helping you identify website hacks (if any) right away as hacks involve adding/modifying/deletion of files. This plugin helps you not anymore panic wondering which files were injected into the website as part of website attacks — Malware, virus, etc.,
And, this plugin comes with needed functionalities to make things easy — very thoughtful. If this is not enough, this plugin is TOTALLY FREE! Great work. God bless.
Note: I use Litespeed Cache – I had to tweak the litespeed Cache’s setting:
Cache > Excludes > Do Not Cache Roles – Administrator (had to check the “Administrator” box).

I would like to see randomize function added to the scan start times so that the scan time does not start at exactly the same time each hour/day/week.
I also think there should be an increment between hourly and day. and day and week. Why not put each __ hour and let the user input a more precise scanning interval? (e.g. every 4 hours; every 2 days).
There is also a cosmetic error where the path displayed in the log for each row can get bunched up in a tiny column.
But other than that, it seems to do everything it is supposed to do. very simple plugin that monitors file changes + email you of a summary of any detected changes. I decided to give it 4.5 stars now, so they get the benefit rounding up.
For those not using another plugin like WordFence Pro, or want a simpler way to scan for file changes, this is a good candidate.

Great plugin with good support. Gives great insight on file changes if you need the ability to audit what is changing on your site.

This plugin by being able to detect plugin updates and also WP updates and therefore only reporting file changes outside that scope is much better than the option plugins available to detect file modifications.
And last but not least, the support just prove to be fantastic.

Reporting from this plugin helps me control my website activity. Supporting is fast and very friendly.

When we mark files discovered on a scan as read. Then in the next immediate scan it is showing same files as newly changed even actually there is no change in files. My email is flooded with false file change warning emails.
I think people who are developing this plugin doesn’t even test its main functionality before issue updates. Which means this plugin might have more undiscovered security and functionality issues in it.
Recommending not to install this plugin and uninstall if its installed. Don’t make your precious website a test subject of someones junk. It’s their job to test the plugin properly before issue any updates, not ours.

I wanted to use this plugin to detect when malicious code is injected into wordpress files. In general, this plugin indeed detects changes to files, but there are at least to major issues.
Firstly, Plugin/theme updates flood the change overview with thousands of files, which per se is good as these files changed. But there is no option to say “mark all the files in that directory as read”, so you have the options to just mark all the 37?000 files as read, or step through them in sets of 100 and mark them as read.
Secondly, after some days the plugin just stopped working and did not remember new scans, so that the same files were reported on and on without having been changed in the meantime. Sometimes there is a message like “whoops, there was an error, contact us at [email]”, but sorry, no, after writing this review I do not want to spend any more time on this plugin.

Great addition to the security onion.

you added the ability to restore a file. I truly believe this is a much better approach to WordPress security than running resource intensive scans with signatures that miss some and are ineffective against Zero day hacks. File Integrity Monitoring is the way! Make this a premium plugin with added “Pro” features like “quick restore” or “quarantine”. Something like this with a good WAF/Firewall, strong password, redundant backup plan, and login/Brute Force protection… You are going to be covered for 99.999% of all attacks… Anyways, I would love to part my money with you and be a supporter for features like these. BulletProof Security Pro does this but it is a very clunky outdated UI.

Excellent plugin. Its light weight and just does the single function, but it does that very well.
On the dashboard it doesn’t clutter up the display by listing every single file that might have changed when a plugin is updated, although you can expand the view to see that if you want.
Lost 1 star only because the notification it sends is plain text and limited to saying x files deleted, y files modified and z plugin installs/updates/deletions.
If the notification included the compact listing as shown when logged on it would 5 stars+

Thank you and please support her until the last day of wordpress

Have been using it for 2 months and it’s great and becomes greater with every new update.
The scanner is soooo good!
Recommended by me.
With the other plugin by the same team of developers that is WP SECURITY AUDIT LOG which covers the changes in the database , you are all set.

This is a great plugin for keeping an eye on changes made to files on the server. It is very easy to use with a smooth UI, plus it seems very accurate based on my current usage and tests. Even better the reports are well-organized and easily managed. Hopefully email alerts will be added soon! ??
