I’ve been using WePOS (Starter) for about 4 weeks.
While it lets me process sales in the shop, the Plugin is not “Next Gen” or even advanced. It’s super basic and is missing a lot of core features.
I have a lot of variable products with additional attributes not used in variations. All attributes show in the POS interface and all have to be clicked on to add a product to the cart. Time consuming and useless. Only variation attributes should have to be selected.
No possibility to set-up a default customer. So if you want your transactions to be processed by Xero (for example) you’ll have to manually select a customer for every transaction, which can be lengthy as it queries the DB in the background.
Last be not least, I’m not able to print receipt on my star micronics printer. Even if the printer is installed correctly in windows or iOS, WePOS doesn’t see it, which I believe is due to the lack of support for WebPrnt integration.
That’s some big knacks for a so called next gen solution.

The POS in itselfs is working ok, and is fast
But, its not possible to translate the PRO version to your own language, atleast extremely hard (havent figured out and no real help from support), and the search functionality is very bad. If you have over 1000 products you would almost need to know the exact full name to “search” for them.
Nu fullscreen mode for android (and this is really a dealbreaker)

I do not recommend. The tax calculation for the discount granted does not work (therefore the invoice cannot be correctly issued). The support does not respond to reports on the forum.

It’s been more than 2 months since I reported an issue in calculating tax and I got no response till today. Keep in mind that I paid for the full service but I got ZERO service.
I don’t recommend this plugin. It has a critical issue in calculating the VAT. So if tax department caught your invoice, you will have hell of penalties and maybe they close your business.
Second, they don’t response on time at all. When I send them to ask about the issue they reply after 5 days at least.

This is a nice plugin however it should have automated bill printing without prompting to print, else an option to toggle in between
It will be nice to have a button to launch full screen mode
And barcode scanner option as well. It must automatically input the product once the scanner is placed in the bar code rather than clicking on barcode scanner then scan
Also it should be able to make refunds and return orders or part of orders being in the pos page without redirecting to WooCommerce

I was using a POS Plug-In that has been around a long time before trying this one. All I can say is WOW! Why in the world didn’t I find wePOS sooner? I love it!
wePOS features a wonderful modern display and is vastly more user friendly than what I used before. When I’m using it, I feel like I’m working in a huge retail chain instead of my little boutique. So far, I have had no problems with compatibility issues or bugs.
I’m looking forward to the addition of payment gateways, but if I could just add a button or a text box to input the payment method I have accepted via another program, I would be perfectly content with this plug-in.

While building an online shop for a charity the requirement came for an instore POS. This plugin is the only free POS plugin available for WordPress / WooCommerce.
With only a few hundred installs, I did not have high hopes but it worked really well, had all the features we needed and the Ui was fast & really easy to use.
Testing went well but when 100s of products were added the plugin stopped working. A bit of digging revealed bugs.
I raised a support ticket and started looking at paid alternatives.
Within a couple of hours support responded, asked for info, found the problem, fixed it and then released a patch! FOR A FREE PLUGIN!!
I cannot put into words how impressed I am not only with the plugin, but the team behind it.
This is what makes the WordPress community so amazing! People really care and want to do their best.

This plugin exceeded my expectations! A lot is packed in for a free plugin, however, there are a few changes I’d like to see.
1) I’d like the option to add vendors as customers in the customer search as well, this’ll be great for marketplace sites
2) Adding custom checkout options would be a plus as my vendors accept card payments in-store. It’ll be easier if they can select debit as a checkout option
3) The ability to limit access the pos depending on the vendor’s subscription package.
