Widget shortcode is, or i can better say was, a great plugin. But the last time it is not updated anymore.
Now you can not see the shortcode anymore in the widgets area.
Maybe they will update and we get the great plugin back or we have to search a new great one.

I had tried another plugin to use a widget in the gutenberg block editor on a page, however that plugin had some issues so was not ideal.
Widget shortcode enabled me to add my widget by copying the generated shortcode to the shortcode block in the block editor, resulting in the widget being displayed perfectly on the page.

Its a great little plugin. Quite useful thing to have on your site for easy customization. I hope the author will keep it updated and in-line with future wordpress releases.

I needed a way to customize a link based on user roles. It was suggested to me to make it a menu with If Menu and combine that with Widget Shortcode. This is a great and simple plugin that I’ll be using frequently.

Hi, this is really helping me out, thank you!
Very nice that it is working with Gutenberg, inserting widgets in the content from a drop-down, no copy-pasting of shortcodes, and a preview inside the block editor!
Just some minor glitches/enhancements:
https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/advanced-additional-css-class-broken-wp-5-1-gutenberg/
https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/make-link-inside-widget-non-clickable-in-the-preview-in-the-editor/
https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/make-additional-attributes-available-in-block-editor-gutenberg/
Fixing the first two of these, would totally earn you that fifth star—and a donation ?? TIA

The plugin works really well and it feels very lightweight. I’m glad I stumbled upon this plugin long time ago and marked it as favorite, I thought ‘um.. this looks interesting and it might come in handy sometime later. That time came working on a theme that strictly shows post grid throught the use of widgets but only in ‘home’, so with the help of this plugin I was able to put the post grid in any page I wanted. You just saved me hours of doing custom PHP code.
Thank you!

I do not see how to use it. No any info neither in the support page, nor in the FAQ…
How to use it? No any controls in the editor…
I tried to insert [widget] in my pages – nothing happens. What else I have to do?

Well, really not much to say – it works very well, does exactly what it is supposed to do, is super useful!
I especially like the button in the TinyMCE Toolbox, where you can find all the widgets from the “Widget Shortcode” widget area – it’s a great shortcut.
Thank you for developing this plugin!

This is an ingenious idea! I can manually code this type of stuff, but this makes getting your widgets to appear almost anywhere so much easier!
Thanks, Hassan!

Love it as a complimentary design feature providing flexibility!!
I found a good (Plugin) widget called “Recent Posts with Thumbnails” and by using your great [Widget Shortcode], I can place this widget (Recent Posts with Thumbnails) right into a page or anywhere. Thus not being limited to using a sidebar….wonderful.
Just one issue is (I might be a little tired!!!!) it took me a while after activating the Plugin to actually find where it installed too. Surprisingly after searching for a while….found it in Widgets right across on the right hand side of the dashboard in it’s own little box – labelled “Widget Shortcode”.
Once found, it took all of 20 seconds to load my desired widget to your “Widget Shortcode”, enter my fields then scroll to the bottom and grab the resultant shortcode and bingo all done.
Hope the above tip helps others find it easier once activated.
Cheers Dennis
