After installation of this plugin, the formatting on my site disappeared
Hi! I’m having trouble getting this to work with Advanced Custom Fields Pro. I’ve tried both using a WYSIWYG field type as well as just a basic text area. I have Widont configured to process p tags.
I expected that it would insert the non-breaking space but output is unchanged.
Hi there, love the plugin. However, we’ve just discovered a problem. While the plugin works great for our desktop views and tablets, on smartphone sizes the non-breaking space results in text disappearing off the edge of the screen. On small screens it is ok to have a widow, in fact the whole headline could be one word per line:
Approximate
Headlines
Ruminate
Any way to shut it off for mobile, and keep it on the other views?
Thanks so much!
Neat plugin, but I sometimes have an issue with things like ‘Latest Posts’ or ‘Popular Posts’ widgets in sidebars. They seem to pull in the non-breaking space and insert it into the headlines/excerpts. Is there any way around this?
The plug-in is working great so far with one exception: if there’s a link at the end of the line Widon’t is copying the href to the closing A tag, moving the period from outside to inside the link, then inserting non-breaking spaces inside the A tags and breaking the link.
Example:
[email protected].
Becomes:
<a?href="mailto:[email protected]">[email protected].</a?href="mailto:[email protected]">
This happens both when adding links via the Visual editor, and also in Text mode, and has been verified by toggling Widown’t on and off.
An incompatibility with Markdown in Jetpack Markdown module. If I activate Widon’t for li, links in list generated in Markdown are broken.
* <https://www.thing.com>
gives https://www.thing.com
instead of https://www.thing.com
Hi there, great plugin. Thanks.
Only I want to remove widows from p tags, but NOT from post titles.
Would you be able to help me adapt the code to ONLY apply the to tags entered in the settings form field?
Much appreciated!
WP won’t allow me to activate this plugin. I get this error message:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/dirsl/public_html/dev/wp-content/plugins/widont-part-deux/wp-widont.php on line 12
Hey, this is a suggestion, not a bug report ??
It would be nice if we could have an option to set if we want it to insert
one time or two times ?? That way we could get 3 words on the last line instead of 2.
Hey, I love your plugin ?? But there is one problem
If the last word is assigned a colour, it will end up as a widow without colour.
This is because the plugin inserts
inside the
like this:
and breaks the CSS.
Is there a way you can make it ignore those span tags?
So? Your plugin rewrites the sentence?
