Hello,
thank you for this great plugin! Do you have any tips on how to change the appearance of the popup/card? Like: Make the Wiki-Header smaller and getting a little more text?
Thank you!
Harald
I’m using Wikilookup in an Elementor shortcode widget to lookup the page title in Wikipedia. However, WordPress replaces any apostrophes in the title with smart quotes (using wptexturize) and Wikilookup uses these in the API call, which gives no results.

Removing wptexturize would not be a solution as smart quotes etc. should be retained elsewhere, so Wikilookup should check for these.
]]>Inserting the Gutenberg block gives an error “This block has encountered an error and cannot be previewed”. There are no settings available for the block either.
It does work fine using the shortcode.
]]>why won’t work in tag pages?
]]>Plugin works nicely using the shortcode. Quickly copy paste shortecode and add my topic.
I see the plugin already adds a new blocktype wikilookup in General, however, it is not yet configurable. This results in an empty block, showing an error. Most likely because no topic is configured when first entering the block. I see no option to add a tag or topic to the block.
Are you planning to release a version where you can configure this, or if it should already work, where you fix this?
I am using the latest wordpress version.
I have tried the following code, but it doesn’t work. Using a simple term, like ”Brasil”, it did work, but not for this other one. Can you help? What am I missing? Thanks guys, great plugin nonetheless.
[wikipopup lang=”pt” title=”Tratado da Antartida”]Tratado da Antártida[/wikipopup]
Also, any customization option on your outlook? Just so we can match it better to our layout.
Thank you very much!
]]>I’m using the [wikipopup] tag on various pages; however, I keep having instances in which the pop-up seems to get stuck and won’t go away. Of course, that could lead to a bad user experience. Do you know what could be causing this? I click everywhere on the page hoping it will disappear, but stays up.
]]>Hi,
great plugin! Worked great on a local site, but gave an issue on – different – life site. It works as such, but broke the layout of my search box. See attached images:
– normal search box
– with Wikilookup installed
Using WP 5.2.2 with Weaver Xtreme theme on LiteSpeed Webserver
Any idea?
