Does Wise Chat have the option to show only specific users in the chat based on the current user’s criteria? For example, if I have players as users, each with a “club” field, can an online user from Club (A) see only other users from Club (A) in the chat room, and not users from other clubs? Similarly, every player should only see users from their own club.

-I used a troubleshooting plugin to disable all plugins but wise chat and revert to the default theme and that did not resolve the issue so this doesn’t seem to be a theme or plugin conflict.
– The thumbnail does appear fine when a user first uploads/attaches an image. The preview shown to the user shows the thumbnail without issue.
-When you click on the broken image it does popup without issue and show the full image.
-Currently I’m using the “Gold” engine. I have tested the other options and none of the others work for me. I get server errors.
-I am currently using the free version. Am interested in the pro version in the future.

]]>We have a small chat room. I want to allow everyone to participate (no log-in, no passwords, no memberships needed etc.). I want users to create a screen name when they enter the chat. Some users report that it works as expected. They go to https://dolphinstruth.com/chat/, and they are prompted to enter a user name for that chat. Perfect! However….other users report that they do NOT see the prompt. They are simply let into the chat room and assigned Anonymous4 or a similar name. This happens to me as well. Can someone help? I want everyone to be prompted to enter a user name. I have tried various settings, but cannot get it consistently. thank you.

My users are logging in with their name. Then they open the chat on their phone, but they can’t use their username anymore as there is this popup saying “This username has been taken”
Is there a configuration to be able to reconnect as the same user, or to let me kick out or delete the user?

I am using the “Username” configuration. It works good. However, I have a specific question: Can I setup the username of each individual, instead of them?
My users are already logged in the website, and I want them to use their current username automatically. Is there any configuration that I can use to accomplish that?
I tried this simple code, but I get “Enter your username” every time. If I enter username manually, it works good, but not with Javascript.

I am planning to purchase the pro version of the plugin, but I need to know if it is possible to implement an additional feature.
I need the user names to be anonymous within posts. My goal is for users to see anonymous identifiers instead of their real names, but only inside a specific post. Each user should have a consistent anonymous identifier within the same post, but the identifier should change if the user is in a different post.
Specifically, I would like to generate a hash based on the user ID and the post ID where the chat is located, and use this hash as the anonymous identifier for each user within that specific post.
Is it possible to achieve this through a hook or any other method provided by your plugin?

]]>Hey there. Just discovered a new issue with the latest 3.3.1 version. I was trying out the private messaging feature, and with more than one private messages there is an X beside each to close it. However with just one private message, there is no way to close it to return back to the main channel. The channel also is not listed in the browser where the users are, so you can’t even return to the channel that way either. I did try to get a log report but nothing appears for the error log for this issue, and tried with different themes, no change. Clearing all caches server side and browser side also didn’t solve it. Using latest 6.5.4 WordPress, server running php 8.0

Tonight we noticed that the Wise Chat (free) plugin shows “No channel available”, after the plugin was updated last night.
I removed the plugin and reinstalled it to see if this would help, but it did not. Is there a bug in this version?

]]>Hi there. For some reason, as administrator, my name changed to Anonymous64 and i cannot fix it. No avatar too, like i’m pure anonymous, but i’ve disabled that option everywhere, only logged in users. I’ve cleared browser’s cache, i’ve cleared prefixs inside the wise chat settings, i’ve added nickname or usernmae to show in chat, i’ve disable the plugin and enable, i’ve logged out/in from the site, but it’s still the Anonymous64 username for me. I belive everything happened when i’ve asked someone with previlegies to BAN, to do it on my test account, which shares the same IP, after i’ve unban myself i’ve notice that my username isn’t the same. I don’t know if i incidently added option which hide my real username and i didn’t saw such option. Can you tell me what happened and how to fix it? I’m using Ultimate Member plugin too. Should i just reinstall the plugin? Thanks.

I have a concert this coming Sunday, 11/19. I’ve installed and activated WC. I just need to get it working on my page. Could someone help me with these last steps?

Yes, it will. All you need to do is to add [wise-chat channel=”my channel name”] shortcode to your page and position the shortcode to the right side of the page.

Marcin: I’m finally ready to try WC. I have a concert coming up on 11/19, and there will be a live stream, embedded from YT, on my site. I’d like to use WC, instead of YT’s live chat, because YT requires registration.
You said above that I need to add shortcode to the page. Is “my channel name” the url for the page that WC will appear on?

]]>I was using a wordpress db password “4?ZUhG4u8wAwu\$V@” — Without the quotes. It was causing the chat messages to be blank.
Just like this in the wp-config.php file.

the program wp-config-parser.php fails to parse the password because of the special chars. result is that CHAT goes blank…. gets error like

I used Wise Chat Pro a few years ago. At that time, the one to one chat didn’t work well. I want to understand how we can setup one to one private chats. There may be a shortcode to enable one to one private chat. For example, I want customers to be able to contact the sellers from product details page. Maybe there is a shortcode like this ( just adding this as an example ), “[wise_chat user_1 = ‘user_1_id’ user_2=’user_2_id’ ]”.
Can you please explain in details? I may purchase the pro version after I am sure something like this is possible.
They should see the history of their messages in the Inbox or Messages page.
