Hey,
I would just like to ask if there is a solution for controlling VAT in Switzerland. And when the customer enters the VAT, the taxes should be deducted.
]]>Hello,
I am still using this plugin. Taking the suggested alternative route is possible, but since that is a paid plugin I wonder if a good choice for my simple need of handling VAT for EU customers is available.
May requirements are that the VAT number gets validated and that the invoice is correctly adapted (i use PDF Invoices & Packing Slips for WooCommerce). A bonus feature would be to get a report that shows the amount of yearly foreign VAT.
Could you suggest plugins for that?
]]>Hello Team,
Is HPOS support incoming at all? The plugin currently flags as incompatible with the new Woo High Performance Order Storage.

]]>Hi,
In Woocommerce > Setup > VAT , I have assigned some VAT for 1 country.
The prices have been entered with VAT.
Ive setup your plugin so that as soon as the user enters his firm name, the VAT field appears.
When I enter a valid VAT, the prices are not re calculated without VAT.
So, still the price appears with VAT.
Does it come from my In Woocommerce > Setup > VAT parameters ?
Thanks
The EU VAT assistant plugin works seamlessly with the classic checkout field from WooCommerce elements. However, with the new editable checkout element that you can customize in the Gutenberg editor, the VAT field fails to load.
Is there any configuration option that I should adjust, or is this functionality simply not possible with the current version?
Thanks in advance for your assistance!
]]>I installed your plugin on a new WordPress/Woocommerce installation but couldn’t get the VAT field to appear. I changed the checkout page to the “classic” checkout style and it worked fine.
Is this plugin going to be updated to work with the new checkout layout?
]]>I’ve had a technical issue on my site. During the issue an order was placed with a correct VAT number, but then the corresponding entries in the database were lost.
I can manually recreate the order and manually check the VAT number using the VIES service, but I don’t know how I can include the data in the VIES quarterly report. I’ve manually recreated the corresponding wp_postmeta entries for the order, but it looks like I’m still missing something, since the order is not showing up in the report, nor does it show VAT evidence on the order itself.
I know this sort of stuff is out of bounds, but any help would be greatly appreciated!
]]>I am looking to replace the current woocommerce EU VAT Assisstant with the recomended alternative EU VAT Compliance. But the guidance mentions digital goods and physical goods and I am unsure if I really need the plugin on my site. We are selling online training which is undertaken via a site login so no products are downloaded or sent out to the consumer. Can anyone confirm this please?
]]>I want the tax for Dutch residents not to be set to 0, even if a VAT number is entered. the website is also located in the Netherlands.
I read that there was an option “tax paybale to country” I don’t see this option in my tax overview.
]]>WooCommerce gets much faster database management. About time! High Performance Order Storage (HPOS). Now as an option, but soon in the core as a standard functionality. All plugins must be compatible with HPOS. We really hope that your VAT plugin will be adapted for this big step forward. At the moment it is not compatible yet, according to WooCommerce.
Kind regards, Gerske
]]>Hi, thanx for the great plugin.
Everything seems to work good with one exception:
My setup is as follows:
I’m using the experimental mode of WooCommerce – the price should stay always the same, only the tax is changing:
add_filter( ‘woocommerce_adjust_non_base_location_prices’, ‘__return_false’ );
My prices are bruto prices.
1. for customers from Canary Islands we charge always our local tax I.G.I.C 7% – the same for business (with tax-number) as for individuals.
–>price 50 Euros (incl. 7% I.G.I.C tax calculated correctly — WORKS
2. for customers from rest of Spain + EU Countries I want to charge :
Corresponding tax of each country if indivídual client – — WORKS
–>price 50 Euros (incl. X% tax depends country calculated correctly — WORKS
3. If business with tax-number – 0 % VAT,
The problem: the VAT is extracted from price . So the example price of 50 Eur becomes 46 €, 47 € – depends country ……
Is there any workaround to fix it?
something like : “if VAT EU –> TAX=0% ?
Without substracting the corresponding country tax?
Thanx & Regards
Hi,
Im using a third party plugin that generates a whole checkout process regardless of the woocommerce default checkout.
Although the EU VAT Assistant plugin works perfectly at woocommerce default checkout it obviously doesnt with my custom checkout because this plugin generates the field just at woo checkout.
I generated a custom field “VAT Number” at my custom checkout and I need to apply the logic of the plugin to the field I crafted.
I couldn′t find any info about this. Just wondering if there is somehow to do it, I dont care if I have to modify code.
Thanks a lot.
Hello,
Wordfence say: The Plugin “WooCommerce EU VAT Assistant” has a security vulnerability.
Is to fix planned?

Hello, does anyone know how to fix this problem?
In the log made by this EU Vat plugin it says several hunderds of time:
2023-05-17T00:00:03+00:00 ERROR FeaturesUtil::declare_compatibility: /var/www/vhosts/domain.nl/httpdocs/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce-eu-vat-assistant/src/embedded-framework/wc-aelia-foundation-classes-embedded/wc-aelia-foundation-classes.php is not a known WordPress plugin.
Thanks!
]]>Hello,
there is a bug on checkout page, that does only appear when *not* logged in – and no, there is no cache plugin installed and it does also happen on a new WordPeress installation with default theme and only WooCommerce and this plugin installed:
After entering the VAT ID, there is no automatic AJAX reload in the order area to delete VAT, when not logged in. Only after a manual page reload, the VAT is correctly deleted.
]]>Hi,
I just open this topic to share an issue i had and how to solve it.
I have many customers are’nt able to complete their order both with Paypal and Stripe.
There was an error on checkout page like “Internal server error” or “Error processing checkout. Please try again”.
After checking the logs on my server, i found that the issue come from a division by zero:
[15-Oct-2022 10:37:08 UTC] PHP Fatal error: Uncaught DivisionByZeroError: Division by zero in /home/xxxx/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce-eu-vat-assistant/src/plugin-main.php:804
And i found why this error is thrown: in the settings of the plugin, in Currency tab, the field “Exchange rate” for my second currency was empty. I m not using the exchange rate option of the plugin, but just by puting “1” in the field and saving settings, the error disappear and payment working again.
So hope this topic will help people with the same issue ??
]]>Hello,
I know that this plugin has no longer assistance.
But I’m having an issue that I don’t know how to handle.
From 2 days ago any VAT number is validated correctly.
How can I solve this? is any problem of communication between plugin and VIES?

You help would be great.
Thank you,

]]>Hello,
First I would like to congratulate you for the great plugin. Really useful and well made.
But I have a case. I will give an example to make it easier for you to understand.
Let’s say I’m a merchant from Bulgaria (20% VAT) Selling in Romania (19% VAT)
When selling to an end customer:
I pay VAT which is 19% (Romanian)
When selling to a VAT registered company:
I sell the goods without charging VAT and she pays it.
So far you have things in your extension, but what do we do if:
Are we selling goods to a company that is NOT registered for VAT?
In this situation, it is proper for me to pay the VAT, but at the rate of 20% (which is in my country)
I didn’t see a similar option in your plugin?
]]>I started using WP Fastest Cache plug-in and got an incident with an order. This is an order of a domestic private customer.
What happened is that in the order overview this order has two VAT columns, has two shipping elements and the total price is without VAT.
Is this plug-in compatible with WP Fastest Cache?
]]>Hey!
We get this error every couple of weeks. I have to reinstall WooCommerce to make the shop work again. After the error occurs the WooCommerce folder is missing files and its missing from the plugin overview.

]]>As we announced a few months ago, the EU VAT Assistant reached its end of life on the 30 June 2022.?The plugin is currently in a “grace period”. We will keep it available for download for a while longer, to give our users more time to migrate to an alternative solution.
During the grace period, we will only update the plugin’s meta data, to indicate the compatibility with specific WordPress and WooCommerce versions, but we will no longer be able to add new features, or provide support via this forum, for this plugin.

Hi there, thank you for this gift to the comunity!
I have one little mystic challenge.
The EU VAT field DESCRIPTION below (not the field itself) hides after input in any other field. This is not a technical problem but a small visual one. (Jquery seems to put it on display: none)
I′m wondering why this is happening?
best
H.
Hello, I have a question, it does not switch to 0% VAT when ordering from another eu country to the 0% tax on the checkout page.
What might be the problem?
]]>Hi,
I have gone through this plugin
that is partially suitable for my requirement.
Can you please guide me further on my requirement if that will be fulfilled by this plugin?
There will be 3 categorized countries for VAT application
1. Italy
2. Europe
3. Extra UE (non-European countries)
We have seen that there is a dropdown of Business/consumer selector
that will be useful for our requirement
We have to apply/exempt the VAT according to the customer is a business customer or an individual.
1. If the country is Italy
22% VAT will be applicable to individual/company for the respective selection in the dropdown.
2. If the country is Europe
22% VAT will be applicable to individual & for company, the VAT will be exempt for company
3. If country is Extra UE
22% VAT will be applicable to individual & for company VAT will be exempt for company
This plugin should collect all the required fields like
Province , PEC/univical code,fiscal code etc.
Please let me know if this conditions are satisfied by this plugin that will be very helpful.
Thanks for your support.

We have the plugin set up to accept any VAT id entered as valid, and this generally works well and most users enter VAT number without issue. However, in some cases, we might need to update or change the VAT number after order has been placed. This is fine, but the issue we face is that the VIES report shows the original VAT number entered. Is there any way to edit or force an update of the VAT number so our VIES report is accurate?
]]>How can i display the VAT ID of costumer on the PDF Invoice?
Is there a shortcut?
in Woocommerce I want the field to show the vat for the country of Germany but I don’t want it to remove their tax
]]>Hello, I have a problem in my multivendor market. When a European buyer enters a VAT number, the system recognizes it and removes taxes correctly. This is how it should work. But, according to European law, in cases where the buyer and seller are from the same country, even if the VAT number is entered, the TAX must not be removed. In these cases, the system is not doing it right, and it is also eliminating the TAX. We have checked this for the order of a German buyer (with VAT number) to a German seller, where VAT has not been applied. However, there is one case where it does it well. It is when the buyer and the seller are from Spain. I suspect that it is because in the configuration of the AELIA EU VAT Assistant plugin, it is configured as if the market were from Spain. But in my case, the Market is multivendor, that is, it has sellers from all over the world registered, and I do this with another plugin (Dokan). Is there a way to configure it so that the plugin does not assume that the market is in a specific country, but instead, when the order is processed, it detects the seller’s country, in order to apply the taxes correctly? So that, if it detects that the country of the buyer and the seller are the same, and the buyer enters a VAT number, the TAXes are not eliminated.
Thank you.
Hello, I have a problem with a customer that used the VAT plugin to checkout our store and not get the VAT charge, the system gave it like it was valid but now checking with our accountant that checks every vat in the VIES website, it is not valid!
I personally plied the vat number again today on our checkout form and it gives a valid answer and deducts the VAT, but if typed in the vies website: https://ec.europa.eu/taxation_customs/vies/vatRequest.html
it gives a negative result saying it is not valid so now we have to pay for his VAT.
How can this be and how to prevent it?
Thank you!
