The feed for the Google Merchant Centre correctly displays the prices of variable products. However, Google rejects most variations because there is a different price on the product page: the so-called “price-range”. This appears to be against the Google rules. Using a plugin you can change this to a display with a “price from”. This will also cause the products to be rejected for display in Google Shopping. After selecting the variable product options, the correct price will be shown on the product page. To avoid confusion for Google, removing the “price (range)” field could be a solution. However, this is undesirable because prices will no longer be displayed on the category pages. Is there a possibility to remove the price (range) field only on the product page, where the price for “simple products” is displayed normally on the product page?

I read that the plugin is discontinued. Also, all files have been removed from https://github.com/claudiosmweb/woocommerce-google-merchant-center-feed (albeit there is of course still the version history).

I wonder why? I run a small shop of currently only 8 products not (yet) making a lot of money with it. It does not make sense for me to spent 79$ for https://www.woothemes.com/products/google-product-feed/

Hi,

I run an woocommerce store using the WPML plugin, i can create a feed no problem on products in English using option in the Google Merchant tab on the product pages, however when i fill out the data on the Spanish product pages, the feed is empty. Any reason why it’s not picking up the info from the Spanish product?

I’m having some troubles with the Google Merchant Center feed plugin. The /product-feed page is blank and only shows the following errors:

I am trying to set the shipping cost in the tab but not sure what is the correct format? I only want to sell in uk and i’ve tried loads of variables:

GBR:4.99 GBP
GBR 4.99 GBP
4.99 GBP
etc

but none work, i always get an error saying the shipping value isn’t set. The example isn’t very clear (product. Example: US:024*:Ground:6.49 USD,US:MA:Express:13.12 USD)

Is there a maximum number of products I can include in the feed? I have tried on 2 remote servers and local machine (with lots of php memory and high timeouts allocated) and at around 800 products the xml feed goes blank.
My shop has around 1300 products.

I have installed the plugin and activated my site on google merchant (site address mywebsitename.co.uk/product-feed.

On the product page (in wordpress) how do i set the category of the product? For example, the google merchant category might be:
Sporting Goods > Exercise & Fitness > Weight Lifting Belts

I’ve entered that numerous ways on my wordpress product page (i.e. in inverted commas) but it doesn’t show up in my google merchant dashboard under products. i’ve never used google merchants before so don’t really know what i’m doing!

First off, I can’t thank you enough for this plugin. It has worked amazingly for me in the past few weeks I’ve used it. Very simple.

Unless I’m missing something, is there a way to add custom attributes to each product so that I can track the clicks for each product? I’m still new to PLAs and I was doing some reading through some of the docs and noticed that Google recommends adding attributes to each product to track them more efficiently. I don’t currently see an option to do so.

I can’t figure out how to get the pricing for variable products to be pulled into the XML file.

My simple products are all good. This is because in “edit product” page, I can put the price of the product in, and the Google Product Feed pulls that into the XML file.

Pricing information moves from the “General” tab to the “Variations” tab in the “edit product” page for Variable Products. There is no option for pricing on the “Google Merchant” tab.

Any help, how can I do this? Or can someone point me in the right direction of where I can find the answer?

The plugin where your plugin is obtaining the url I think it is WPML Multilingual CMS.

Do you think I can fix this problem?

Do I really have to go to each product and enable the google merchant feed? How can I do this in the database with an SQL update?

What about the other fields: Do they get updated automatically? Like “Awaylability”: Why is there a seperate dropdown in the merchant feed settings? This should be taken from the product itself.

Or am I understanding this wrong somehow?

My feed works on the Woocommerce Product Feed for Google Merchant 0.35 page as it shows the last 3 products, but when you click the feed link it just redirects back to a blank page.
I have tried changing the permalinks but it doesn’t make any difference.
I am using permalinks on Common Settings post name and Product permalink base shop base with category.
I am using the enfold theme.

You should always test your feed by submitting it manually. The first step is to “download” the feed file from your site. Use the download link on the settings page to save a copy of the file to your computer. Then, in Google Merchant Centre, click on “Manual Upload” on your feed list, and upload your feed file. Google will process your file, and will let either add your items, or email you a list of failures.

Great plugin, just one question. I want to change the product names in the feed. The reason for this is that the names on the website don’t correspond to what will be easiest for people to identify with in Google Shopping. I got this plugin because it has a 5-star rating. I don’t know why.

I have over 400 products, and now I have to add each one manually to the feed. So I did 20 products as a test, but the feed is NOT BEING GENERATED.

Also, all the copying-and-pasting into fields that could be pre-populated (e.g. description) is a nightmare.

My categories etc are correct, I know because I use merchant center feeds just fine on other sites.

Very disappointed, glad I didn’t have to pay for it!

Hi, just downloaded the plugin, unfortunately it said no items entered, checked and it seems I have to go into each product and click enable google merchant, is that normal? Since I have 49 products this will be quite a task! It also does not seem to equate the product short description with the google merchant description, which also has to be copied and pasted manually.

Also, is there a way to insert ISBN into the unique product identifiers? it doesn’t give me that option.

I installed the plugin a few months back and was working perfectly, I originally only had 35 limited and recently realised I have added many more however these were not obviously pulling through to Google Merchant Center as I specified 35. I quickly changed the limit to 100 and have tried to refetch my feed however I keep getting this error:

Invalid response code. (1 error)
The remote server returned an invalid response code.

I use www.ads-software.com for my website, and am having some trouble uploading my products to google merchant. I have created a feed > ‘create schedule’ > inserted ‘https://yoursite.com/product-feed&#8217; with my own url. My status appears as ‘no items inserted’, ‘1 of 1 items inserted’ and ‘processing’, for the several test feeds I have tried this with. But no sign of a product appearing? I’m a bit of a dummy with this, so any help would be hugely appreciated!

In the Merchant Center, I get errors for all of the items inserted. The error is called “Missing Shipping Information” and it reads:

Shipping is missing. Please specify in the ‘shipping’ attribute or in your account settings with a default shipping method selected for each targeted country.

I have set UPS Ground as the default shipping method and we are only shipping in the US. I’m not sure what else to do to get the ‘shipping’ attribute to appear in the Product Feed.

I installed the Woocommerce Google Merchant Center Feed plugin and included many products in the feed. It was running properly for about a month & recently it stopped working and I’m consistently getting a “No items inserted error” on my merchant center data feed which is set to upload daily.

When I go to my data-feed page (https://eskell.com/product-feed/) I am getting an error that says:
XML Parsing Error: junk after document element
Location: https://eskell.com/product-feed/

I don’t understand what this means. I would appreciate any direction in getting to the bottom of this.

I was thinking it could be one of these two things:
1) Around the time the feed stopped working I had to switch my database user password on my Dreamhost account. Do I need to account for this somewhere in the Woocommerce Google Merchant Center Feed files?
2) A few of the ladies that work at the store have been entering product data in the Google Merchant Center Feed section on the product pages. Could something that was entered incorrectly have stopped the entire feed from working? If so how do I find the error?
