We have following problem
https://www.tomsgates.com/en/product/jake-medium-dog-door-for-in-a-wall/
1. Jake Wall with installation placed in cart at 10:56 then closed the session/browser (still logged in, didn’t logout)
2. 10:58: session re-opened, everything still in place in the cart. Session closed again.
3. 11:39: session re-opened, everything still in place in the cart. Session closed again.
4. 14:07: session re-opened and error seeing:
? JAKE | Installation Medium Dog Door | In a Wall has been removed from your cart because it can no longer be purchased. Please contact us if you need assistance.
If you see at the products all installations are always in stock, because we disabled the stock, so it can never be that they can no longer be purchased because they are always there. Also weird thing is that the product dog door is still in the cart only the installation is removed.

Hi there,
I’m currently using the WooCommerce Product Dependencies plugin and I have a feature request that I believe would be very useful.
It would be great if you could add a functionality that allows us to set a condition where customers cannot purchase a product if they already own another specific product. This feature would be particularly helpful for managing subscriptions, to ensure that customers can’t buy a new subscription if they already have an active one, preventing duplication.
I think this enhancement could benefit many users who handle subscription-based products in WooCommerce.

]]>The loading time of the images in the backend was super slow on my website until I found out it was this plugin that cause the problem. So, I deactivated it. It’s sad but it made me almost crazy over many weeks. Now I had to cancel a product in my shop I needed the plugin for but better a fast backend than an additional cheap product in the shop. Also the frontend is faster than before. Google PageSpeed Insights reads 80 instead of 60 for the mobile and 92 instead of 88 for the desktop speed.
I played around with the plugin on a stage site. The site remained to be slow image loading even if i deactivated every single plugin but this one. So it doesn’t seem to be a conflict with another plugin.
WordPress Theme: Avada…. maybe it is not fully compatible with this theme then…. sad….
Thank YOU! This plugin is what we exactly need. But there could be a small tiny enhancement, but it would be very handy.
Through WooCommerce product export/import functionality we can bulk update our products information, attributes, and meta data. I was able to update the dependencies meta _dependency_type
, _dependency_selection_type
, and _dependency_notice
but the most important meta which is the product/category IDs that they should depend on, isn’t available.
I don’t know if it is available, I searched for it but I couldn’t find it. Adding such meta data to the product export would be very helpful especially for already established shops were multiple products will be updated to include dependencies.
UPDATE: I took a fast tour through the code, I think I found the meta data names. They are _tied_categories
and _tied_products
.
Thank you again for such an awesome plugin!
Regards,
Mahmoud
Hello.
This plugin is just what we need to ensure people have purchased conference tickets before they can book any free add-ons, such as additional conference sessions. The issue is that we only want our attendees to book ONE additional ticket, not multiple.
We plan to update this plugin to add an additional Negative Dependencies feature. I.e.
Only allow purchase of Developer Dev Jam session ticket if a Conference Attendee ticket is in the cart, or has already been purchased (Either).
AND
a UX Jam session ticket AND/OR Learning Design Jam ticket is NOT already in the cart, or already purchased.
What do you think?
]]>Hi there,
Is it possible to restrict the purchase of a single item based on the combined total of other specific products in cart?
I own a comic book shop, and some cover options are what we call ratio variants.
You can order 1 copy for every combined total of 25 other specific comics.
So if you order 50 of the others you can order 2 of the ratio variant.
Is this something your plugin can do, if not do you have any ideas of what I might try please?
Thank you for your help!
]]>Hello,
I am having a problem that is driving me crazy.
When configuring a Simple Product, only the ‘Purchase’ dependency works. Ownership dependency does NOT work.
The purpose is to configure that the product “Swimming Course” cannot be purchased without having previously purchased “Reservation: Swimming Course”. I don’t think it’s difficult, but I’m not getting it. Even if I buy the “Reservation: Swimming Course” product, it doesn’t allow me to buy “Swimming Course”.
I have tested with NO other plugins than WooCommerce, Really Simple SSL and WooCommerce Product Dependencies. I have also tested with several of the most important themes such as Astra, Zigcy Lite and Tyche among others.
I don’t know how to proceed or if I’m doing something wrong.
I am generating a test page with all the needs that I can think of in order to set up the official website. Purchases are in test mode, so you can generate as many users as you want, in case you want to try it. I will be attentive to mark the orders as “completed”.
I await your help.
WordPress: 6.4.1
WooCommerce: 8.3.0
WooCommerce Product Dependencies: 1.2.8
Thank you. Best regards.
]]>Hi,
We’re hoping to test the new Woo HPOS set up on a staging server this week.
Is Product Dependencies HPOS Compatible or does it not use the “old” tables.
Thanks

]]>Great plugin.
Something I think needs to be improved:
Dependencies should be chosen in product variations. In this way, a variation of one product must occur with the same variation of another product.
Currently, any variation of a product activates the possibility of selling the product. Or is it possible to make a certain variation require the purchase of a specific variation?
On the other hand. It would improve the control of how and where the message appears

]]>Hi there!
I can’t get the plugin to work with variations of the same product.
In the link provided you’ll see it’s a vinyl record in two variants, black and smoked translucent vinyl, but there could be more variants. Imagine that we’d like to allow the purchase of the smoked translucent variant (or any other if more available) only if the black vinyl was previously added to the cart. So I enter the black vinyl variant of the product in the dependencies plugin and select ‘purchase’. I don’t add a note just leave it blank so that the default message appears. Well, I can’t even add the black vinyl variant to the cart and it also displays the warning:—“Nowhere” is only available in combination with “Nowhere – Black”. To purchase this product, please add “Nowhere – Black” to your cart—. But that’s exactly what I’m trying to do! Obviously it says the same if I try to purchase the smoked translucent variant. Wat am I doing wrong? Thanks a lot for any help as this simple plugin seems to be perfect for what we need, but can’t get it to work.
I am using a partial payment or deposit plugin which sets product status to “partially paid”. The only way the WC Product Dependencies works is if order status is “completed”. But, if I set it to “completed” then the buyer cannot return to pay the balance due.
How can I add that status to your plugin?
Hi,
I have added a “Rental” product type. Would it be possible for me to have the features on this type of custom product? Are there any functions I can use?
Thanks in advance
Hey everyone,
In my shop I have certain items that I want for owners of that very item to appear differently.
That means: If you do not own that item then you should only be able to buy 2 of the variations of that product.
On the other hand, if you own the item you should have more variations presented to you (those would be additions and “spares/repair parts” for reordering).
Is that possible with your plugin? To hide only certain variations of a product?
Cheers.
]]>Hi,
Before I install your plugin, I have a couple of questions to see if it will achieve what I would like it to.
1. Will it work using wordpress 5.9.1? If yes…
2. I have a category of products that I do not want to be displayed in the catalogue page (but their product page can still be accessed via URL and purchased if desired). They’re mainly for cross sells for my bigger products, so I wish for them to be displayed still in the cross sells section on the basket page if one of my main products is added to the basket.
So, in a nut shell does you plugin allow me to hide certain products from certain categories until a customer reaches the basket page?
Please advise, thanks
A
]]>Is it possible to make a product available to be added only if any other product is in the basket
e.g. say you are selling shoes, shoe polish, shoelaces etc … but you only want to allow the purchase of shoelaces if there is ANY other product in the cart already.
So shoelaces cant be purchase on their own.
Thanks
Chris
We’re using the German translation and I noticed the quotation marks in the notices (po file IDs 6-9) don’t get output as quotation marks but as the literal entities. In the German translation they’re encoded as Unicode entities and I suspect some filter mangles that first ampersand ignoring the hash. This doesn’t occur with non-Unicode entities, so I did those replacements:
&#_8222 → &_bdquo; and &#_8220 → &_ldquo; (“_” for wp.org not to mangle it)
I’d like to suggest to apply this to the whole file as these entities are the named equals of gthe Unicode entities – and I hope to not get that reverted back on the next language file update I do ??

]]>By rather prompt ansers to questions I’m guessing this plugin ist still supported and works with the latest WP/WC, right? I had searched at woocommerce.com but despite the acquisition I can’t find it there. So I’m installing the one from the regular repo (here)?
And am I understanding correctly that I can have multiple products “A”, “B” and “C”, any single one of which can be made a prerequisite for other ones (“bonus”)? So you can buy “bonus if you have either “A”, “B” or “C”?
]]>How can I make ownership option recognize that a customer already bought a product A in the past, so they do not need to purchase product B as the dependency?
The ownership model is good for new customers, but not for returning one. In other word, I install this plugin after we had customers, and most of us do. It doesn’t make sense to them that they cannot purchase product A anymore unless purchase B. For example B is a Sign-up fee.
]]>My client purchased the WooCommerce Product Bundle Add-On. We are trying to create a bundle with a required base bandage product of any quantity and an option to choose from four different poster products in any quantity. I thought I could set the Min Bundle Size to 2 and require the bandage product be one of the products. However, we have recently received an order where the customer chose two boxes of bandages and was able to check out. We don’t care how many or which bandages the customer chooses to purchase as long as they purchase at least one bandage product and least one of the various posters. Is it possible to get the dependency plugin to work with the bundle plugin?

great plugin!
1. Is there a way to globally change the message, or do I have to change it on a product level?

Thank you for your time,

Hi. I an currently building a website on my local computer before transferring to our site. We are using WP-Event Manager with additional add-ons for registration, attendee list, and sell tickets.
we want to be able to restrict the ticket sales so that 1 ticket depends on another.
I found your Free WooCommerce Plugin and thought Great!!!, just what I am looking for except is does not work.
it works fine on the standard product types, but when the Event Ticket Type is selected, your dependencies tab gets removed.
Can your plugin be amended to include non standard product types?.
I am not a PHP programmer, but I am ‘technical’, so I can follow instructions.
Best regards
Matt
]]>Hi,
I installed the plugin to create a dependency for one of my products. The plugin itself seems to work but the notice that users get when trying to add to cart a product they’re not supposed to is displayed at the complete top of the screen, above the top menu, making it unreadable and breaking my theme. Do you know how I could move it back to the main frame? I don’t know where it is supposed to appear normally but I’m sure it’s not there.
Appreciate any help to find a fix if possible.
Thanks a lot
