]]>Hi, Scott.
I hope all is well.
File Monitor Plus is a very useful plugin, and I’d hate to see to fall by the wayside.
It appears to work just fine on the most recent versions of WordPress. It would be great if you’d update and validate the plugin so it doesn’t display the warning message on the www.ads-software.com plugin page.
This plugin hasn’t been updated in over 2 years. It may no longer be maintained or supported and may have compatibility issues when used with more recent versions of WordPress.
ADDED FUNCTIONALITY
If you’re looking to add functionality to the plugin, let me suggest comparing the file hashes for core files and plugins against the WP provided hashes. Apparently, there’s an API for that (the Sucuri WP plugin is using it https://www.ads-software.com/support/plugin/sucuri-scanner). It would allow you to segregate correctly updated core and plugin files from the unexpected file updates we really want to monitor.
FYI, I’m using a combination of the two plugins to monitor my sites’ files, and that approach seems to work fine. Still, it would be nice to have this monitoring and reporting in one plugin.
Thanks again!
Mike

I am trying to find/work out script(s) to initiate a scan and to clear an alert. I want to use this with the manage wp service which allows for php code to be executed on many sites at once. This would allow me to do mass updates and then mass scans and clear alerts so that any further alerts are not from our monthly updates.
Any help would be great,
Thanks

]]>Hi there. I love this plugin and find it very useful, using it to monitor over 100 different WP installations.
But I’ve got one, just one installation, that sends me file change notifications every day. Nothing has been changed on the server, and the file system is intact.
This installation is on a dedicated server where I host over 60 of my other WP installations, so it’s doubtful that it’s caused by the server configuration.
I’ve tried un-checking the File Hash method for file check, but that hasn’t stopped it.
So, here’s an example from the notification email:
Files Changed:
File New Filesize Old Filesize New Modified Old Modified
/index.php 4 kB 4 kB April 17, 2014 @ 7:37 am April 17, 2014 @ 7:37 am
It’s very odd, isn’t it?
Anybody have any thoughts?
Cheers,
Jade

]]>Was using this plugin for a couple of months and it worked good, but I just migrated bunch of sites and plugin stopped working. It turns out that it cannot recreate its own data folders and files. This was discussed in: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/plugin-wordpress-file-monitor-plus-just-updated-to-latest-version-and-plugin-not-working?replies=8
But the solution is old, because as one could know, there is no option to change or check media upload path in new WP versions, it’s done in silent mode. I uploaded new media files and they went where they supposed to go, that means path is OK, but this plugin still cannot recreate it’s own files. Reactivating, saving settings, etc doesn’t help a bit ??

]]>I’ve been using WPFMP on more than 25 WP installations for the past several months. It has been working great on all of the sites, even sites with infrequent visits.
Now, on one of my sites, it no longer seems to complete the automatic scans. All of my sites are on the same server, and have many of the same plugins. The site where it stopped working is the most elaborate and has the most plugins.
I have the WPFMP plugin set to an hourly interval using the WP cron, and the site gets enough traffic that it should trigger the scan. When I visit the plugin settings page, I can see that the reported “Last Scanned” time is always within the last hour. But, it seems to me that the scan is not really completed, since I am not getting an email from the plugin. I know for sure that files have changed on the server between scan intervals, since I added/deleted files as tests, and the server error logs usually get updated/changed every so often, too.
If I activate a manual scan, it works perfectly and reports the changes in the tests I’ve made.
If I change the settings to use “other cron” and use the special URL with the “sc_wpfmp_key” in a browser, it runs the scan as expected.
I have checked the WP cron events/hooks with another plugin, and the “sc_wpfmp_scan ” hook is scheduled to run hourly.
I have a good number of plugins on this particular site and I have disabled/enabled and tested all of them as best I can for compatibility. I’ll keep plugging away at this and see what I can find…
This issue first came to my attention shortly after updating to WP 3.7.1 from 3.7 – just a coincidence??
Are there any known conflicts with other plugins or server settings?

Please tell me how to get exclusions to work with your plug-in.
I’ve tried the full name as given in the report:
/wp-content/bps-backup/logs/http_error_log.txt
just the file:
http_error_log.txt
Yet every single time it just keep showing up on the report. This and my sitemap change ALL the time and I need to get these excluded.
Also, when in Admin and your windows pops up to tell me something has changed and I need to clear it. PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THE PLUG IN PAGE. I have lost so much work on posts from your plug in pulling to the page just to tell me it did clear what I asked it to clear.
