I needed a simple google map for my website. There are many out there, but this one seemed to be the best based on download and update statistics. I spent quite a while refining the look, which initially was pretty ugly. When I updated from WordPress 4.0.1 to 4.1, its dashboard controls stopped working in both versions. I received no response from the plugin developer. Perhaps there will be a response, but when you need a map, you need a map. So I am moving on to another. Several others do seem to work well and they are a little more neutral-looking out of the box.
I agree with the previous post: if you are offering a plugin for free, you get 2 stars at least, for effort.

Using the twenty-thirteen theme as a base the widget of this plugin worked very impermanently – it showed up fine initially. However, suddenly it did not display anything in the site frontend although the widget content had not been altered.
Well, that’s my experience. I know this is a free version, but what I wanted was quite simple (1 map generated based on 1 address) and I am a little frustrated of doing occasional bug testing plugins for developers who market their freebies as working.
So am adding an extra star for the effort of this offered as free – that’s as good as it will get for me as I don’t want to waste more time, so moving on to something stable…
