Completely slowed my wordpress dashboard so after deactivating, the site is running smooth again. If this plugin isn’t going to be actively updated, it should be taken offline.

Unfortunately, it looks like this plugin’s time has come. It should be pulled and End-of-lifed.

Locked me out of Dashboard. Corrected that. Decactivated. Uninstalled. Now Elementor is bust with constant redirection to a non-existent HTTPS page… not good.

Read several comments from users experiencing the same thing…unfortunately after I too had been locked out. Had to manually delete the plugin and much about in the mySQL database as well.

Thanks a lot for making this plugin available. It’s simple, but yet powerful enough not to think about it anymore.

Hi, I used this plugin at the beginning of my project, but as soon as I installed WPML to translate the site, the translated URL get’s added extra Directories when I activate your plugin.
Something like:
Website.com/dev/site (original language)
Website.com/dev/site/en (translated site)
With the HTTPS plugin translated URL becomes:
Website.com/dev/site/dev/site/en
Any insight on this issue?
Cheers
Daniel
PS, definetelly not compatible with WPML.

My sites are using woo commerce and I installed the SSL certificates from lets encrypt but the index page did not have the padlock and was showing as non secure on google chrome. Everything got sorted out once i uploaded and activated this plugin.
So a big thank you. I am making my donation now.

I tried several plugins to get the images and other content secure but nothing worked. I found this and wasn’t hopeful it it seemed like an old plugin but it worked first time.

I had my host enable Let’s Encrypt, added the plugin, tested it by enabling HTTPS on a couple of pages (using the checkbox in the Page Editor). Seemed to be working, so, in Settings > General I changed my WordPress and Site URL to https. Still working :). After browsing the support threads someone pointed out you need to change URLs in your css (if you’re pointing to images). Caveat: the site I was working on is fairly simple, not sure if that made a difference. But I’m a happy camper.

Plugin was installed by my predecessor, removal caused issues with css had to individually remove all instances of https://mysite.com and https://www.mysite.com. Upon removal google speed score went from low 30s to 90. friggin rediculous and crappy plugin.

Now I can’t even deactivate this thing. Please help.
Edit:
Turned out it was not the problem of this plugin. Apologies.

One would think that in 2016, with security never being more important, that this plugin would be kept up to date. There’s nothing like installing a 3 year old plugin, that immediately throws errors and needs hacked to work correctly, to handle secure pages on a new site.
Yeah, I know, program it myself. It’s just that this functionality is so necessary to so many that it really should be included in wordpress core, not wasting away here in the repository.

As mentioned by others, force_ssl_login has been deprecated and if you use it anywhere (e.g., like setting it to true in your wp-config file while debug mode mode is enabled), it may break your site, especially if you’ve installed and activated this plugin.
That said, if you disable all instances of force_ssl_login in the plugin’s code, the plugin can still be used to turn on ssl for specific pages, as its original functionality intended, where a proper ssl certificate has been installed/configured. Fyi, I’m using it for that purpose with Gravity Forms and their Paypal Payments Pro addon.

Search the code for force_ssl_login (you’ll find it in the core.php file line 559) and change this to force_ssl_admin.
According to the errors you’ll find if you enable wp debug mode force_ssl_login was depreciated with WordPress 4.4 and should simply be replaced with force_ssl_admin. While I can’t verify that it’s working exactly as intended now (I can only take other folks word for this) at the very least it cleaned up all the crazy amount of debug warnings and errors I was getting and the backend seems a tad faster.
