At this point I’m calling Yoast a SCAM and do not recommend anyone use it. I am in the process of moving away from Yoast because of it’s terribly slow performance and tanking every other plugin or feature. It makes Site Kit crash, and blocks Redirect plugin (free); probably because it is trying to charge premium $8 per month for the same service. SCAM. Burn in a hellfire Yoast.

I have an active Yoast premium subscription and I want to migrate to Yoast for one of my sites but I don’t think the support wants me to help. They gave me the migration guides and instructions over the email but you cannot guarantee the success of a migration, which primarily involves keyword migration and redirection. The support asks me to back up the database, which is a reasonable request, but I doubt they will assist if the migration fails or becomes stuck in the middle of the process. They will probably recommend reverting to the previous backup or blame the hosting for errors. So the question remains: how do you migrate to Yoast without any issues?
For many years, Yoast was the must-have SEO plugin for many bloggers and I was among the ones who recommended Yoast to many. Things have changed since then; the premium cost has gone up (even for a single site the cost is too high when compared to competitors), they don’t care if you don’t renew the subscription or move to another SEO plugin, reported bugs are dismissed and attributed to hosting, and most importantly the support is poor, etc.

STAY CLEAR UNLESS YOU FANCY A HEADACHE!!!
5 days on the support chat to get someone to investigate Yoast Woocommerce plugin. You just go back and forth for no reason. They want you to give them an access to the live website so you can break GDPR rules. Nobody actually asked for status log to see the problem. They are so obsessed with getting access to your website!

good plugin, too expensive for paid version

I am extremely disappointed with Yoast, especially considering it’s a paid premium plugin. Despite advertising its ability to handle schema markup and structured data, it has failed miserably. I have been struggling to get my product schema to work correctly, and instead of providing a viable solution, their support team suggested using a custom code snippet from over 4 years ago. Worse yet, this outdated code sets ALL products to “In stock” status, which is completely unacceptable and inaccurate for any e-commerce store.
What’s the point of paying for a premium plugin if it can’t even perform the basic function it’s supposed to? It’s frustrating to see such a lack of willingness to address real user issues and provide updated solutions. Yoast should seriously reconsider how they support their paying customers or stop promoting features they clearly can’t deliver on. Save your money and look elsewhere!
Oh and remember their online support doesn’t work. If you select Live Chat option you will be asked for emial address so it’s exactly the same as selecting contact via email.

We’ve had the premium version for about 5 years. The latest update to 23.5 caused conflicts with our Breakdance builder. We submitted a ticket to Yoast because the conflict clearly stated that a Yoast function had been deprecated. This prevents us from doing any work on our builer – we can’t save anything. Effectively, we may as well close down. Yoast support just blame Breakdance. I asked for a copy of version 23.4 to roll back and they won’t give me one, apparently they don’t have it! This plugin is slow and clumpy at the best of times, but the ‘blame everyone else’ culture of support just solidifies my argument that we should switch to an alternative. I don’t appreciate paying for a ‘premium’ plugin and then not receiving support and being left unable to run our website and being refused a roll back to a previous version so we can operate.

Hello everyone, I am an SEO manager who is very interested in the Yoast SEO plugin, whether it is a free version or a premium version. I recently found a tutorial for installing and configuring both versions on the PMSEO website, which was very complete and I liked it. I will share the link for you

I was using it based on a recommendation, however over the past updates the pro features get more and more in focus. Simple relevant features, such as editing robots.txt or simple sitemaps become pro features.
So in summary it lost it’s value

This plugin is causing multiple slow queries on my account pages and password reset pages, but they don’t care. “we have other priorities”.
Slowing down a site doesn’t help SEO.
Run. Try Rank Math

I used to enjoy Yoast SEO and have used it for many years on several sites. Since the latest WordPress update Yoast is almost completely unusable. It used to take me an hour to complete a post, now it takes two because the input fields are mostly unresponsive. Everything slows down to a crawl, comparable to working with dial up in the mid 90s.
The only “solution” offered seems to be to deactivate numerous other plugins or themes, which is not practical. If Yoast is causing so many conflicts with other popular plugins or themes the solution isn’t to demand we abandon all those plugins, the solution is to improve your plugin to make it compatible and usable again.
I am on the cusp of removing Yoast from all my sites in favor of something that doesn’t slow everything down to a snail’s pace. I am not prepared to remove half a dozen other necessary plugins just to appease one, nor am I prepared to change the entire theme and appearance of my sites just to make Yoast functional.
If you’re happy to spend all day just trying to write a post while waiting for Yoast to get its act together and populate meta fields, you might find this plugin useful. If your time is more valuable than the minor benefit this plugin might offer, I would say try something else and save yourself the hassle.

There is no possibility to set up SEO title and meta desc. for sub-categories, we have to set up one by one, which is non-sense in 2024!
