Hello. I use the tooltips regularly, and it is a great tool, but there is an increasing problem with the links on different installations.
This is what it says in the link:
https://ASGAROS.com/support/topic/no-more-permissions-what-happened/
… and this should be there:

Thanks for the support, Klaus Wilde
I’ve just started using tooltips. My site will display the first tooltip I have, but the rest of the words with tooltips show them to be tooltips (dotted underline) but they do not pop up with the information like the first one does.? (Similar problem reported by another user, but resolution not recorded)
WP Tooltips is a good thing, but if support requests aren’t answered, it’s not so nice!
The problem is that the tooltips are displayed in links and therefore, clicking on them leads to nirvana.
Can this be stopped?

Hello, thank you for your usefull plugin.
I would like to ask you if there is a way to resolve a problem of managing.
I use the plugin also for acronyms, now I have some acronyms that are multiple, same name but very different meaning.
Is there a way to handle multiple match? Instead of the tooltip content, could show a list of corrispondences, multiple tooltips with the same name but different meaning?
Thank you
Your plugin has an error. Tooltips are being written with unescaped apostrophes. Note the apostrophes around your inside of the JS function call that is already using apostrophes:

these need to be escaped, or you need to use full quotes.
Hello, I have 2 requests/questions:
First question: Is there a way to selectively show tooltips from specific categories?
For example, I write articles about different card-based video games. I want to add cards as tooltips for each of these games. There will inevitably be some overlap with card names, and I wanted to exclusively show cards for each specific game the article is about. I only want “Hearthstone” tooltips to load on Hearthstone articles, same for “Slay the Spire”, and so on.
I would love to selectively create rules for which the Tooltips are shown. For example, on pages with “hearthstone” in the URL, only show tooltips with the category “Hearthstone”.
I know that you can group tooltips by categories, but they don’t have any purpose besides backend organization.
Second question: Can you enable tooltips on a page by page basis?
I’d love a little button on the page editor that will enable/disable Tooltips on the page. I don’t want to load the Tooltips scripts on the majority of pages, so I’d enjoy having this option.
Happy to hear any thoughts. Love the plugin otherwise!
Hi, thank you for this plugins. I have a problem. This plugins conflicts with this plugins https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/error-with-tags/ please you can fix it?
hello,
thank you first of all for the great work for this plugin!
I have a question: I noticed that if I enter a tooltip with a capital letter, for example: “Open source” he replaces all the words in my paragraph from open source to Open source.
Is it possible to make it keep the upper and lower case of the paragraph and not be replaced by the tooltip title?
Thank you!
Hi, I’m trying this plugin which seems very good to me and I would hate to have to give up using it on my site; but when I try to open the Global Settings it gives me the 403 error.
I’m afraid that it may depend on the fact that I have installed the “All In One WP Security & Firewall” plugin, but I’m not sure if this is the problem because I tried to disable it and the 403 error remains. Some idea? Thank you very much in advance.
Hello,
I’ve added the plugin and it underlines my word but nothing happens when I mouse over (and I have entered a two long sentences text in the text field). If I have a look using the inspect option of Chrome, I see the following error in the console :
(index):362 Uncaught TypeError: jQuery(…).qtip is not a function
at toolTips ((index):362:20)
at (index):856:43
Could you tell me how to fix this ?
I have the latest version of WordPress and all plugins.
Thank you !
Hi,
I’ve installed the free version of the plugin, and I’m encountering this issue: In my glossary, I have the same word listed both as a standalone term (e.g., ‘word’) and within a phrase (e.g., ‘single word’).
However, the tooltip consistently displays only the standalone version of the word.
Is there a way to prioritize which version of the word is displayed in the tooltip?
Thanks!
I created 2 separate tool tips but only one of them will show, they both show the dotted line but only one pops up. Is there something I am doing wrong?
Each one works if I unpublish the other one.
Also they are not showing on my site on mobile devices even thought this option is enabled in Global settings
Thanks Robert
Fixed now
Good morning
Since installing Tooltip 9.2.3, with WordPress 6.4.1-it_IT, the plugin continuously generates errors of the type:
Warning: preg_replace(): Unknown modifier ‘O’ in /wp-content/plugins/wordpress-tooltips/tooltips.php on line 1417
Warning: preg_replace(): Unknown modifier ‘c’ in /wp-content/plugins/wordpress-tooltips/tooltips.php on line 1417
Warning: preg_replace(): Unknown modifier ‘C’ in /wp-content/plugins/wordpress-tooltips/tooltips.php on line 1417
….
And the content of each post is no longer visible on the site. To make it appear again, I need to set on the plugin: “Disable tooltip in entire site”
What could it depend on?
Thank you

Hi! I would like hovering over the image to display the same tooltip that hovering over the text does.
For instance on the page I linked I would like when I hover over the “Biting Jabs” image for it to show the same thing as when I hover over the “Biting Jabs” text
Currently when I enable the image option, I can only get it to display the words “Biting Jabs” above the image when I hover over it, instead of the actual tooltip
Is it possible to get the plugin to call the Biting Jabs tooltip when hovering over that Image?
Thank you!
I’ve found that in some cases you end up getting nested tooltips (when tooltips are present inside the tooltip text).
In these cases, the double-quotes around the tooltip giving the class for the tooltip are converted into single quotes, which then breaks the Javascript string.
The easiest solution for me is to simply replace the singe quotes outside the $m_content to backticks (`), which appears to work pretty well.
The other – probably better – option would be to not replace double-quotes with single-quotes when they are found inside an HTML tag.
Hey Thomas, there is an issue with your implementation of the new “Member Directory”. Inside “admin.php” on line 10/11 you used the old deprecated user levels instead of the roles and capabilities. This causes deprecation notices. Could you please revise your code and replace level 10 that you used with the role “administrator”.
Maybe you could also consider removing the menu page in favour of the submenu page entirely or the option to disable the “Member Directory” for the people that do not use it.
Thanks and best regards,
Daniel

Hey team!
The tooltip works perfectly on my wordpress site which is great. My only issue is I want to be able to create tooltips for text that is actually from plugins too.
E.g I have a registration plugin which gives me a popup form for login so I am not using the normal wordpress login page. The popup has a keyword on it where I would love to be able to use the tooltip so on hover over that keyword, it will give information to customer for help with registration including pictures.
Is this possible and if so, how?
Thanks in advance.
Hello,
I’m using the free version of the plug-in which seems to offer the option to disable tooltips for specific classes and IDS but I’ve tried everything and it does not seem to work. Hello,
since WP 6.1.1 update tooltips aren’t showing if they exceed specific length.
This was working before 6.1.1:

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (Ultimate Edition)

Inglourious Basterds

13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi

The Transporter (2003)
